the funniest thing for me is that arguably DDD is one of the most important games for the KH timeline and canon. Like, the entirety of KH3 happens immediately after DDD. Like, if you haven't played it, KH3 makes very little sense lol

The Three Musketeers world in Dream Drop Distance was based on Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers, a direct-to-video animated movie from 2004. In the movie, a turtle is reading the story from a comic book, hence the comic book motif. One assumes, somewhere in the breadth of Disney comics, there was actually a comic book where Mickey, Donald, and Goofy were Musketeers, but I can't find any evidence of such a thing.

Haha I love how the person controlling the music literally played the beginning of the Team Rocket Radio Tower theme for a few seconds followed by the Rocket trainer encounter jingle and then swaps back to KH music XD
