Washington’s first was as a land surveyor, by design
Adams, a schoolmaster, though, it seldom challenged his mind
Jefferson, a lawyer, (direction, we have him to thank)
Madison joined the military, colonel was his rank
Monroe also was an officer in the army
Quincy Adams, a lawyer first (why not subscribe, it’s free!)
Jackson, a courier in the Revolutionary War
Van Buren, a law clerk was his, a lawyer, eight years more
Harrison, a military aide for General Wayne
Tyler’s first, a lawyer at 19, was quite the brain
Polk, a politician was the first one he wrote down
Taylor joined the army, and in time, became renowned
Fillmore’s first, a wool carder, worked in the textile trade
Pierce joined the state legislature, with his father’s aid
Buchanan’s first profession was a lawyer, it is known
Lincoln’s would be taking care of the home and land they owned
Johnson was a tailor, opened his own shop one day
Grant was a gifted horse handler, could make them obey
Hayes, like others, started out a lawyer for his pay
Garfield’s, a language teacher, classics, his forte
Arthur, a schoolteacher, was the first job he could find
Cleveland, an assistant teacher at a school for the blind
Harrison’s, a lawyer shortly after he was wed
McKinley started as a postal clerk to earn some bread
Teaching Sunday school at a church was Roosevelt’s foray
Taft, a courthouse reporter for a newspaper, his way
Wilson was a lawyer, although he would soon end this
Harding, with his father as a printer’s apprentice
Coolidge, as a lawyer was where his income first came
Hoover’s, an office assistant, bookkeeping, his aim
FDR’s was a lawyer after he passed the bar
Truman worked the mailroom at the Kansas City Star
Ike’s was as a supervisor at a creamery
Commander of a World War II PT boat, Kennedy’s
LBJ, a day laborer and a teacher’s what he did
Nixon helped with vegetables at their store as a kid
Ford earned his first dollars as a coach at Yale U
Carter’s, selling peanuts from his farmland, made a few
Reagan was a lifeguard on a river, saved some lives
HW Bush was a navy pilot, served till ‘55
Clinton’s first was intern for a U.S. senator
Bush, a pilot in the National Guard till ‘74
Obama’s, an ice cream scooper, Baskin Robbins, he’d join
Trump collected bottles as a youngster for the coins
Last, Biden, as a lawyer once his doctorate was complete

Very nice work! I was wondering in case it hasn't been done before, you could do a song about the parents / notable ancestors of every US president? John Adams and George H.W Bush had sons who became presidents but William Henry Harrison had a grandson who became a president and other led fascinating lives all round.

Yeahhh...it gets pretty hot and humid in the Pacific, especially if you're surrounded by metal (though the PT boat was largely wood)!

Good job on video, I like the thumbnail, a lot of the President's jobs, I thought were all going to be somewhere in politics, hey if you can do me a favor, I looked up what type of Lawyer Thomas Jefferson was, but it just said he was a Lawyer, I read a 555-page book about him, and nothing, so I'm asking you this because you pry saw the type of Lawyer he was when you were making this video, and plus Jefferson is my favorite President, hope this isn't too much to ask.

Hi, and thanks for your compliment! I went with the Presidents’ first jobs, since so many of them got into politics and I thought a song about that might be boring. Regarding Jefferson, all I could find was that there were two kinds of lawyers at the time…those serving the higher courts and those the inferior or lower courts. Jefferson was a higher court lawyer, handling other than ‘blue collar crime’ situations.
