In my friend's scout group, when kids needed to get a navigation badge, they were driven out with a car, dropped off in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night, with a map and a time limit when to get back to the camp. I thought they did it to lull the ducks into complacency. It seemed like when they finally chose a goose, that person was always unprepared, and therefore guaranteed not to catch the goose before they got back to the empty spot (even if they were otherwise a very fast kid).

Hahahaha to clarify you touch everyone on the head as you go around the circle saying duck, duck, duck, duck. Goose! And then you run. Ohhhh and if they tag you, then you have to sit in the middle of the circle. It's called the mush pit or the mosh pit. And you have to stay there until someone else gets tagged and then they take your place. lol Crazy games
