The Sebring is a wide body kit. That’s why the valance was so wide. It pairs with kit fenders

I used to daily drive a '72 GT into NYC in the early 1990s. On a quiet night you could hear it rust. Did a complete mechanical rolling restoration including an engine overbore and rebuild. Finally got the full mechanical ignition advance to play nice with the DCOE 45 side-draft Weber. Great induction noise. The 4 speed manual acted like a 6 speed with the laycock overdrive that you activated by flicking the switch on the steering column...like a high beam/low beam dip switch. It gave 3rd and 4th higher ratios for low rpm highway cruising. Need to pass? Flip the dip switch, spin up the revs, make the pass, then flip back to a relaxed cruise. After a few years, I took it off the road, fabbed up a rotisserie, replaced the complete sills, inner membrane, castle section...added in a couple of jacking point reinforcements throughout, floors, lower front fender section (portion behind the wheel), lower portion of rear quarters. Lots of zinc rich epoxy primer. Eventually I swapped the engine out to a fuel injected 3.4 liter V6 and T5 gearbox from a 94 Camaro. It might be the one car I actually miss.

Love the look of these MGB GTs. Being from the UK myself theres quite a lot still on the road. But not many that look as good as this one. Great job.

One thing that really lets it down for someone who knows these cars is the missing seams between the quarter panels and rockers. That’s an immediate red flag for bad previous repairs and should have been addressed when going that far to make it look good. A little research goes a long way on a car you’re not already familiar with

Taking the bumper off and bullet mirrors don't make it look Aston Martin 😂

I have the same project, with front a rear Sebring balance but the original color is Bronze yellow. What do you think? Change the color o paint with Bronze yellow. The grey looks great. My Mg have the original 14 inch’s steel wheels and I think to custom 17”x8”, I will be original but modern.

We never addressed the engine so only focused on the work completed by us which was bodywork and upholstery . We had just recently finished a Aston Martin DB4 and the owner of the MGB enjoyed it so much he asked us to give his car the same treatment

Hey there - it's actually my car and through no fault of Trick Factory's, I simply ran out of budget to tackle the engine bay (having already upgraded the rear suspension to Frontline's 5-link coil spring setup, added new big bore flow-thru exhaust, added alloy rad and extra electric fan, etc). Indeed, I loved the DB4 the guys did and thought I'd love to do the same treatment on my GT. As you can see from the video, what Trick Factory did was extremely thorough and the results speak for themselves. I'm extremely happy with the finished product!

@@charlesboname5546 Turn the front signal lamps around, they are backward. Usually a "restoration" starts with the mechanicals and then the cosmetics. To each his own. If you want to see an MGB GT morphed into an Aston Martin, Check out Oselli of England.. there are photos of their work on the web site.

@@jeffhildreth9244 Thank you sir. Appreciate the tip re the front turn signals and will address that. Enjoyed the Oselli shop tour. I have a sister in Cambridge so next time I'm over there for a visit, I'll make the trip to their garage. Yes, fair point re the mechanicals. As mentioned to you originally, I did address a number of significant upgrades/mechanicals for comfort, safety, and performance/handling. The body needed attention though. The engine continues to run well but that will be the next task when budget allows. Alas, I have two daughters to put through university first :). Best, cb

It’s not something we specialize in .. We repaired and refinished the DB4 and his friend liked it so much he did the same color paint and interior which is where the comparison came from
