i am a noob, like noob noob regarding drawing. i've been watching videos to kinda grasp concepts and have a clear starting point. You, Sir, are, to this date, still the best video I've ever came accross. This video was a missing part of my own drawing journey puzzle, and I hope more people will come across your content because you deserve it.

Thanks Nemo, you're amazing. I fin that this rule applies to all areas of art the more I delve into it: going from macro to micro is the key. When composing scenarios and paintings, for example, just blocking out the big shapes to get everything correct such as perspective, volumes, and colors, and then slowly rendering and adding more details little by litte is the way to go. The same goes for anatomy. We should focus on getting a very simple mannequin in the correct proportions and perspective, instead of trying to render a fully-fleshed out body.

Eh not really, that's why I said they should be as few as possible. You gotta eyeball and get a feeling for the other poses, especially when foreshortened

3:15 Why does the ribcage look like that? The top of the box I get, as it's to illustrate the narrower shoulders of the female form. But why is the bottom part of the box smaller too, making the middle part the widest area? Why not just make the entire horizontal box narrower, like with the pelvis? What is the line in the middle supposed to indicate? Is there an angle change in between the front part of the chest area that's necessary to make distinct in this very simplified stage of mannequinization? Or is it just simply flat, and the pure front view is just making it hard to make that distinction clear? I honestly only ever gave the female mannequin a box like the male so far, so this is a bit to take in.
