I love cooking, but never really knew what to do with these random leftover veggies. Bits of bell pepper, an onion, a handful of mushrooms... they never seemed to fit any recipe and I didn't know what to do with them. This is a game changer. I love it! 😍

You can also make a veggi stock pot with the leftover stuff or turn it into fertilizer for plants

Tbh when I'm lazy I put everything in an omelette, really fast and goes with everything (pasta, rice, potatoes, whatever carbs you want)

When I have leftover peppers and onion, my go to is a vegetable sauce- you cook vegetables on the pan (bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, zucchini, eggplant, whatever you have, even carrots) ass spices, then add canned tomatoes and cook in the tomatoes for 10 more minutes. And you end up with 2 or 3 portions of sauce. Perfect for rice or pasta. You can add canned beans or lentils too.

These leftovers are also the building blocks for something even better than styr fries: fried rice

I’ve worked as a chef in many restaurants. I love this channel because it shows people cooking “good food” is actually very simple. This man is doing Gods work
7:45 THE GUY IN THE BACKGROUND LOL!! Also cannot believe how underrated this guy is- he literally teaches you how to eat healthy, cheaply, and make your food taste good.

As someone who learned this at the age of 12, the video's really good. Although I never bothered experimenting with ingredients, my base is beef/mutton, potatoes, carrots and aromatics. Steamed noodles can replace the rice for a nice Mongolian stir-fried noodles.

@@myswrath6054Shrimp is a little expensive in Mongolia, where I live, since it's imported from far away. I imagine it's good though. Never had it. A thing I've tried is bell peppers. They work pretty well, ngl. Another one is cabbage and beetroot. Or lettuce? Idfk.
Stir frying is a very crucial skill to negating food waste!
The only thing we have at our student dormitory is instant ramen. And water, of course.
Try to add the soy sauce to the side of the pan directly! It allows for a slight caramelisation and even better taste

I remember this being one of my main dishes when starting out! Stir fries are some of the most versatile and easiest dishes to make, and they're tasty af
I am a housewife and i am cooking from last 25 years i can cook many difficult and different dishes but today i realise i should learn some dishes from you thank you 🙂
Your videos are just so real and straight to the point. I love it 😊
Mate, you forgot one of the most important bits for stir frying: add ingredients depending on how much cooking time they need. For example, carrots should go in before bell pepper as bell pepper needs less cooking time. Of course that's not a hard need but another small step to upgrade your stir-fry game.

also you should not put the garlick first as it will burn and you should stir fry the chicken alone, then take it out and do veggies then chicken in again to not overcook the chicken. For me the order is: chicken first until 80% cooked, chicken out. Garlick, green onion and ginger in to infuse oil, then veggies that cook slow like carrot and onion, then veggies that cook fast like bell pepper, chicken in again, soy souce, final touches like topings and aromatic oils (green part of green onion and sesame oil for example) and its done!

@@EFU127 Then what exactly is he offering as a channel if you have to "fresstyle" in order to get it right? Theres certain steps that need to be taken and instead he's just passing off this lazy video as advice.
Hi! I just wanna say I’m a huge fan of your passion for cooking and your humor. Today my boyfriend surprised me with your cookbook and i was ecstatic to say the least. I cant wait to try allll the recipes!! Love from the Caribbean 🙏❤
This got me through my first time cooking and making a pretty decent stir-fry! Thank you sm!!
Thank you from all my heart. We are waiting for part 2 ❤
nice idea with that asparagus stir-fry. Also as souce, gochujang can be used with soy souce. It also taste delicious with hoisin souce :).
Maybe a stupid question but we have electric stove with like the glass ceramic top. Does it work the same? Like do high heat setting and toss?
@GrikWorldNomad
Жыл бұрын
Good question. You need to give the electric stove a few minutes to get really hot, then place your pan/wok on the element to start cooking. Gas is best because it heats up your pan so quickly to a high temperature
Stir fry and fried rice are my go-to easy “leftover” meals! I try to keep kimchi on hand for whatever sounds good at the time. So filling, and it can be way healthier than takeout if you do it right!
i was getting ZERO motivation to cook and you gave me lots of ideas, so thank you!!
Kevin, I'm finishing up my dissertation right now, and your garlic and cherry tomato pasta is keeping me alive - thanks!
While his shorts get more views, his videos are actually pretty underrated
Tip: While you don't want to use oil for cooking mushrooms, adding water or anything on a water basis can do wonders for cooking them. I often use a dealcoholized red wine, but a regular red wine should probably work just as well. But honestly, even just using water can make so much of a difference compared to just dry-frying them. It's probably also better for the pan.
another easy dish for students are stews, put everything in a pot: veggies of your choice, spices, garlic, ginger, onions, seasoning, meat of your choice and put into an instant pot or slow cooker, or regular pot bring to a boil then simmer for one hour.
You can actually steam properly using a good wok pan. 1. the sides should be hammered, or grooved, so food will cling to it; 2. move the food up to the sides, add a bit of water at the bottom; 3. close off with lid.
Agree. Thank you for giving confidence to an aspiring home cook!
Great video! This is my go-to meal 2-3 times a week. If your stove doesn't have high heat (like mine) you need to fry in batches.
For your Rating National Dishes series you HAVE to try Brazilian "Feijoada". It's a black bean stew with varios pork cuts inside! It's delicious!
I love your videos! Just bought your cookbook :)
Very helpful, thanks a lot
The first food I've probably made was probably a grilled cheese.

Please make more videos on cooking for students. 😊
Yesss !! I’ve been saying this since I was a student , stir fry is one of the best most versatile quick and healthy meals. Alongside pasta salad or wraps
I only have 2 weeks left before I have to go back to uni. I'll definitely try out doing some stir fry with the wok we have at home. Thanks for this
Great video, thanks!
You can also part boil any greens with a splash of vinegar or any kind of vinegar, even baking soda. Keeps the snap and color and quicker to stir fry .
Stir fried help to save the day and help mske versatile dishes. I agree with you thst its a must have skill for not just students but everyone.
Kwook can you please rate the Georgian🇬🇪 national dish and your cooking is good 😃
Gracias!!
no joke, the italian inspired pasta stir fry is the kind of food that is served in the "western" section of my cafeteria back when i was in china. its pretty dang good!
Very good video. Thought that it wont suprise me(the topic of stir fry). But it impressed me.
New vid after School, love it
stir fries are such good dishes to make use of leftover fridge ingredients, key is just seasoning at the end
I live in Netherlands too, where did you get that wok from?
The only kwook i watch without skipping❤❤❤
Nice ideea , looks amaizing ❤
Some replacements for soy sauce for people like me who can't eat it! + tarmarind sauce (bit sweet, but still pretty good! just don't overdo it!) + fish sauce (bit more liquid-y, and I believe it does have some trace amounts of soy in it, but it's still really good!) + Bouillon (I use veggie, but it's so, so, so, SO good. Highly reccommed) + Stocks (don't overdo it, but a bit of beef, chicken, veggie, or any other is really good! vary it up based on the meal!)
In german. we would call this "Reis mit Scheiß", which means "rice and shit" and it is basically, just throwing any ingredients, that are still laying aroung in your kithen ad fry them up and eat it with rice (or noodles or whatever else can stuff that stomach hole)
If you have some extra time, you can boil some water in a kettle, put the water in a bowl along with any vegetables, and microwave for 2 minutes, then strain and then stir fry.
do you dial the heat back when/before saucing?
Every student needs to master spicy shrimp noodles ( if prawns are too expensive or allergic etc use chicken or any other meat or protein)
A year ago, my cousin got food poisoning. His doctor told him that eating onion that has been cut an hour or two ago should be avoided as this is a major cause of food poisoning, so now even I avoid eating leftover onions and would suggest you all to avoid it too. Just throw it away, medication will be more expensive than half or a quarter onion.
Love your videos!😊😊😊❤❤❤
I only have one induction stovetop, so I mainly eat stirfry. It's the easiest one pot/pan way to get al them nutrients.
ginger garlic bok choy and sesame oil is probably my favorite thing to stir fry

Usually in Indonesia we add sweet soy sauce for the 2nd recipe, stir fry tempeh with long beans. Another cheat sauce is oyster sauce!

do we need to blanche the veggies before stir frying and how many days can we keep vegetable stir fry in fridge? thanks.
Everytime i see your video, i comment to make you try Myanmar cuisines
You would love Thailand food it spicy salty sweet and sour it is many food there are such as papaya salad, tom yum kung ( it like spicy shrimp curry ) , padthai ( it like fired noodle with sea food ) and Thai food can be delicious more when u eat with rice.
this is Thailand style of cooking i really enjoy everyday.
Let me try it
I know nobody asked, but my mum is obsessed with stir fly
This guys a legend 👏
1:02 I know that feeling
Can you make chaqapuli
Stir fry is such a great way to make use of whatever ingredients. And don't just keep yourself to Asian dishes...like the Italian example, you can make any dish from it. Technically Fajitas are stir fry! I like making Mexican inspired stir fries.
Hopefully i will get germany study visa then totally need your videos. For now i can cook but only few dishes
2:28 you add the oil and it produces a smoke or vapour: either it's a virgin oil (not good for this stuff in my opinion) and that's the water evaporating, or it's a refined oil, in which case it reached the smoke point, and that's bad for taste and health.
add some wok sauce and u have different taste everytime. Works great for me :)
can i use butter for stir fry? i am trying to avoid oils to maintain a healthy diet as i workout regularly
TRY TTEOKBOKKI FROM KOREA!!!
You know for a second thought gum would be perfection
I would have skipped past the ad at the end but something caught me eye
Hi All, What brand of Wok is that? Is it available on Amazon?
can you substitute sesame oil with olive oil?
fr a game changer
If your still doing requests for breakfasts around the world, could you do Thailand?

7:45 😂😂😂
Hey pls try making this food it is called paneer butter masala it my favorite food
Try puerto rico national dish
Dude. Not a student, but I need your channel.
What I'm about to say is by no means healthy but I'm curious about how one might implement it into a solid stir fry: Kool-Aid pickled red onions, a thing you genuinely can make. I have no idea if it's good or not or what flavor would be the best I just know it's gonna be really unhealthy 😅. I'd love to see a Black Cherry recipe lol
3rd one looks nicccccceeee
I am surprised that the onions did not go in as aromatics before the garlic. Was there a reason to keep them with the vegetables?
I make stir frys all the time and ppl tell me I make such fancy meals, as if a stir fry isn't one of the easiest meals you can make 😭
Bro try and make indian foods like masala dasa, porata and beef curry etc.

Where is your carbon steel wok from?
What is the last ingredient of the first sauce? The one that you mixed whit water.
Hey can I use tofu instead of tempe?
