The Final Book! - Make a Book of Shadows With Me - Binding & FLIP THROUGH! - Episode 4

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The book is done! And to celebrate we have a whopping 47 minute final episode! Today i share how I bound the signatures into the cover using a new fabric system that allows for the signatures to lay relatively flat while there is still a solid spine! After the book is bound, I share a complete flip through of the final book, including all the decorative additions I made to the pages! Thank you for going on this journey with me, and I wish you luck on your own books if you choose to make them!

Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Marina if we've never met. I am a creative, jack of all trades, homesteading in the Inland Northwest. I began practicing magic in middle school, not knowing I was doing so! And through the years I never imagined I would learn as much as I have, so I thought it may be helpful to share what I’ve learned with you magical folks! I also sell Washington made Beeswax Candles and Shadow Work Journals/Grimoires on my website! I hope you stick around to explore, and learn about magic and sustainable living with me!

I enjoyed this series! I LOVE how the golden crystal ball reminds me of the magic mirror in Snow White and The Huntsman.

Oooh thanks! And great observation! That could even be a writing prompt idea! If I could ask the magic mirror to show me something, what would I want to see!

Wow wow wow! This turned out so nice, I love it! 😍✨ Also this binding technique was really clever, I've been trying to figure out how to make my books lay flat like that too! Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! 🤩 Definitely gonna try it myself! 🙏 Thank you for another great video and taking us along the making ✨✨

I am LOVING this binding so far! Its the best of both worlds, a spine to decorate and flat laying pages to work on! I'm so glad you appreciate the concept as well! Just remember, a super solid glue is the secret ingredient! Good luck for when you try it yourself :) ✨️

It turned out so lovely. I'm in the middle of making a grimoire and decided to go for a deckled edge look, the good thing about it is that it hides sewing mistakes lol

I have used beads on the spine of some of mine - they need something in them, though - I made them for small cross stitch pictures because I was running out of room to display framed ones.

What a great way to store some cross stitch! I'm going to do some embroidery on the channel soon, so you may be interested in that when it comes out :)

HI Marina, thank you for sharing, so inspirational. Do you know of any other substances to use other than bees wax? I am fatally allergic to bees and very allergic to anything bee related, Including honey and bees wax. If not, I can do some research. thanks again for sharing.

That's a great question! I'm sure you could use parafin wax as well, but I cant speak to how strong it would be cause I've never tried it before! It might be worth trying with the end of an old paraffin candle! If you try it out, I'd love to hear how it goes for you :)
