I have been trying to learn how to kickflip for months and I couldn't land even one until I did everything you said to do to learn how to kickflip! Now I have kickflips on lock and I land them every time! So thank you so so much Arron! You are truly a good person who is trying to help people out there to learn how to skateboard!

    I tried to do a kickflip, but it became a pop shove-it + half a kickflip. And my back foot just did the pop, so my front foot made the board spin AND flip?... Well, I should learn the Ollie first.

    CHEAP ALTERNATIVE TO SKATER TRAINERS: 1: get 2-4 tennis balls 2: cut a slit into all of them large enough to fit your wheel into 3: pull over wheel! It stops most rolling and doesn't cost 20+ dollars. It really works pretty good for under $5!

  • @TheSkatingRaptor

    @TheSkatingRaptor

    Joey Pimentel yeah dude you're welcome! One thing I found though, get new tennis balls because if they are old the rubber on them will easily rip and they won't last too long. I actually have recently been just putting my front wheels in the grass, I can still get pop and the motion, but I don't roll. Just another easy option. Glad I can help!

    I love these videos! Keep these videos coming Aaron :) I have this goal where I would like to master all of the SMS 1 tricks by the end of 2015 at the latest. I'm skating every day and following through SMS 1 and it's helping a tonne! I highly recommend SMS 1 to anyone who wants to master the basics. I'm getting more and more comfortable with my board and hopefully I'll get these tricks down soon. Keep up the skating everyone!!

    When do I know if I can go on with the next trick? My Problems: I can Ollie, but not straight while riding... I can do FS 165° instead 180° I can do Shuvits but not if Im riding faster than 1/2mph... Everytime I go skate I do those tricks to get them better! But it takes so much time for me, other guys learn it much faster... so depressing :D....

    Get your ollie 100% first! Before you move on, you have to fully be able to do the trick while moving. Start slow, then faster

  • @elitekian

    @elitekian

    9 жыл бұрын

    You should be good at the riding basics. Go everywhere pushing! That'll give you enough balance, so the riding ollies will be easier than the stationary. Don't turn your shoulders when you ollie riding. A lot of peaple go through this problem, becouse they want to look where they're going to, and end up turning the shoulders. Make sure you look where you're going only with your head. Your shoulders should be parallel with your feet. About the FS180, it's simple. Try to land with the majority of your weight in your front foot. That way, you can easily pivot the end of it. One thing that really helps getting it down is to master powerslide fs180, that way you get the hang of it. Now, every time you go skate, do those tricks and I'd say for you to try to learn BS180. I've followed the SMS1 and it helped me a lot. Now, I'm learning SMS3 and SMS5. Peace!

  • @WIZA327

    @WIZA327

    9 жыл бұрын

    Im in the same boat as you. Although I can do full FS180s and pretty much perfect ollies. It took me over a year to learn to do those though. I can do pop shuv it, but yeah its like impossible for me while riding and god forbid I ever land a front shuv. Been skating for 3+ years now and I feel like skating isn't my strong point...

  • @WIZA327

    @WIZA327

    elitekian I hate when people say this. Like I get it, balance should be key to landing these tricks. However, I went to skateparks all the time in middle school. I learned how to drop in, I could shred a half-pipe, went down some of the biggest ramps and shit they had there. Thing is, when I was that young, all I could do was ride and ollie(and do lip tricks/5050 in a half-pipe). I'm a senior in college now, so thats what, 8 years I've been skating? I can ride down hills with one foot on the board and swerve left and right, I can do sex change and power slide, ride goofy... Still can't bs 180 or shuv it while riding, and I learned those at a basic level back in middle school too. Been trying to heelflip and kickflip for years. Balance isn't the issue. Some people, like me, just really aren't wired for skating. I love it though, so I keep at it.

  • @elitekian

    @elitekian

    9 жыл бұрын

    WIZA327 When I say balance is the key, i don't mean just beacouse landing is easier... But, when you are really confortable on your board, it's easier to commit. I mean, when you try a new trick, you really jump into the board, cause its natural to do so. I'm sure you can do those tricks. You just don't know you can. If you have your ollies pretty solid and your bs slides 180 down, bs 180 shouldn't be much of a problem. I'm sure you'll get it.

    i can skate bowls/ mini ramps etc better than most skaters, but i can barely kickflip, pop shuvit, 180 (half cab?) and certainly cant do tre flips etc. my ollies are pretty good though, and my powerslides and manuals. and boardslides/ 50-50's are semi ok, depending on ledge/ rail. it depends on your style. i always skated for fun and for excercise and learning all the flip tricks was too tricky (get it? lol) and too much time/ effort for me to bother, so i just kept doing what i enjoyed/ was good at. skating bowls is great exercise too, and carving up a good bowl is gnarly duuuude ;P so anyway, just because you cant kickflip doesnt necessarily make you a noob, even tony hawk struggled a bit with street skating and hes literally one of the most famous skaters out there

    i disagree with you aaron about having to go through steps in order to learn harder tricks ( dont get me wrong it does help, but not always). I noticed when I tried your method I would practice like many other people to do the same trick all day but you get into this auto pilot mode that doesn't help you progress. The best way to learn is to put all your energy into multiple tricks even just trying them for a short period of time and coming back to it. Chris Chann explains how it works in one of his vids and it helps a lot.

Mine needs to my straight across The tail in the pocket with my first 3 toes hanging off enough to curl under. Dk if that'll help ya mate but maybe it will. Helped a few other friends of mine get their Tre's.

    Haha the same thing happened with me. I went from Ollie to kickflip and then I found Aaron's channel and learned all the other tricks. It was probably longer that a month but I remember when I did all the other tricks and I started to learn heelflips. It literally took me 10 minutes to learn them, Aaron is right!
