HOW I LEARNED HOW TO KICKFLIP!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Purpose of Braille Skateboarding is to grow the number of people who skateboard by teaching, motivating, and inspiring. We do this by making skateboard tutorial videos covering every how to skateboard video under the sun moon and stars. By learning ourselves and showing that no matter how old or young you can learn to skate. Part of this is also providing a suggested path to take in learning to skate. Then we inspire NEW people to learn to skate by making videos outside the very small world of skateboarding. We turn an ipad into a skateboard, skate on a big screen TV, and even a door. We focus not only on the creativity here but building the board and then all the way through to seeing what tricks can be done on it. Skaters have always been a creative bunch of people they take the normal ideas of society and change it to create their own world. Most people see a set of stairs we see a kick flip going down them. Our goal here is to take people that may never have thought of skateboarding before and get them on a board.
Brands can email kylie@brailleskateboarding.com for media inquiries.
I have created many ways to achieve the above goal and will list them all below. Different ways for different people so have a look through and see what fits you best.
“You Make it We Skate it” - our most popular series enjoyed bo skaters and non skaters alike - • YOU MAKE IT WE SKATE IT
“Skate anything” - our series where we search out what we can possibly make skate able - • SKATE ANYTHING
Skate board tutorials - learn for free and on your own on KZread - • LEARN TO SKATEBOARD VI...
“Worst Board at the Park” - we find the worst board and replace it with a new one for tricks. Its all love supporting the community - • WORST BOARD AT THE PARK
Skate support - need help with that trick well watch the video here and send in your clip. We will do our best to make the video quickly but we have a lot of submissions. The end result gets posted on @Brailleskate Instagram - www.brailleskateboarding.com/...
“Skateboarding Made Simple” - instead of KZread tutorials where you can get lost here is a guided lesson plan to take you through the basics and beyond. Instant digital download and get started - www.brailleskateboarding.com/...
Skateboard coaching - this is a totally new idea in the world of skateboarding. Get a list of tricks to learn in and submit your clips to a skateboard coach who walks you through how to land them. This is done through direct text messages and video sharing. The best way to guarantee success on your board as you have a person there to help, guide, and motivate you. This service is called “Braille Army Plus” and is a membership with a lot of benefits - www.brailleskateboarding.com/...
In person lessons - if you live in the area sign up for lessons - www.brailleskateboarding.com/...

I remember when i started skating 10-11 years ago ( i was like 16), we were at the local skatepark and it was already late and getting dark. My brother, a friend and i still tried Kickflips after months. Then a van drove to the park and 4 tall guys got out the car and we were like "wtf what do these guys want from us, lets leave!" But it turned out they were skaters and did a tour. Nice guys. We told them that we cant do a kickflip, the front foot always lands next to the board. They gave us one advice, pull your front foot back and force it to do it. Its all in your head. When you got it down one time your foot will never do that again.

This was great. I always find it extremely helpful to hear what someone that just learned a trick figured out to get it to work. Aaron is great at explaining the trick but he has been doing everything perfect for so long that maybe some of the weird things beginners think how a trick is done don't occur to him to mention. Would love to see more videos like this as Lance progresses through skateboarding.

Here's one quick tip some of you guys may find useful. If you're constantly flipping the board only halfway, not getting full rotation. Start with your toes toward the edge of the board as you try. I know the trick tip videos say to keep your toes behind the 2 hardware screws, but for me. I kept it towards the edge. That way you can flip it very easy, almost rotating too much. The trick is to keep inching your toes closer to the center of the board(behind the hardware), to find that sweet spot where it rotates just enough, not too much or not those half flips/rotations. Then from there it's just about landing it.

This has honestly been the most helpful video about kickflips. I’m so much more consistent after watching this now that I’m focusing on kicking forward (through the deck), keeping my weight centered above the board, and finally focusing on my back foot. The comments by Chris Chann shouldn’t be overlooked, too. You’re gonna have to balance focusing on each of these until you can do them all together. You’re not gonna be able to pop perfectly when you’re focusing on the flick. You’re not gonna be able to focus on your back foot when you’re focusing on keeping your weight above the board. Seriously, this has been SO helpful. Thank you, Lance, et al!!!

I'm a beginner at skateboarding. I've got my pop shoves and ollies down. I have been searching for tutorials all day and have been getting so so so so so SO frustrated with the kickflip. I found this video to be most helpful out of every one I've came across. I still haven't even landed one but I know I'm getting closer. I really appreciate lance and it's nice to know there's someone else that struggles as much as me on kickflips. And I understand there's plenty of kids like me, but it's so nice to get actual good advice from someone who is struggling like me (even though I know you've already got the hang of kickflips.) I just wanted to say thank you so much braille especially Lance for being such a relatable skater I know I can land one, and when I get frusterated I will keep referring to this video. Thanks again guys.

Wow lance your advice actually helped quite a bit. I made more progress today than I ever have with my kickflips. The "Flick through the board, and sort of jump forward" is a way better visual for me than "flicking upward like most people say". I was able to flick the board solid and stay above it, i'm still just super sketch to committing I'll usually only land with one foot. I'll get it though!

I took it step by step with my little brother aswell and, it went really well! All of your how to, what to think about it made it so much easier, i nailed (a very low) ollie today, my second day of skating.. it was awesome! Keep it up, love from Sweden. :)
