3 eggs.
250 grams of flour.
60 grams of powdered sugar.
vanillin, 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
80 grams of butter.
grind into crumbs.

3 tablespoons sugar.
3 tablespoons starch. Lemon zest and juice.
500 grams of milk.
cook until thickened.
2 spoons of mascarpone.
Cool.
250 grams of yogurt.
2 tablespoons starch.
3 egg whites.
a pinch of salt.
100 grams of sugar.
beat stiffly.
Combine with yogurt.
Collect the cake.
first cooled cream.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 40 minutes.

Es wird sicher besser wenn die Backform doppelt so gross im Durchmesser ist, damit die Torte nur höchsten halb so hoch wird ! Werde ich es probieren, und noch was, Zitronensaft erst beigeben wenn die creme bereits fertig ist.😊

For a person who likes to bake this is not a difficult recipe... time consuming but not difficult. Anyoe who bakes knows how important precise measurements are 😂, the order of ingredients and how to follow instructions. They would know thst the words time and patience are sometimes equally as important. 😊 Thankyou ✨️

Yes! I consider myself a great never-measure and adventurous chef, and have made incredible savory and savory-sweet dishes in the past 40 years. For obvious reasons, no dish is ever the same. But baking is entirely different - there’s no margin for inexactness. Too much one way, it’ll be ugly, too much the other way, it’ll be inedible. Too much both ways, well, maybe the dog will like it. I met my match in no uncertain terms the day I took on a recipe from “The Cake Bible” shortly after it was published. I think it was that cake with the laced honeybee cage suspended over it. It was supposed to look like a bee hive. A grand flop, I retired the book and haven’t opened it in the 20 or so years since. Expert baking requires not only precise ingredient measurements but adjustments for altitude, ambient temperature, the right equipment, and order. It’s both an art and a science. But I’ll even go even further - anyone can ‘make bread,’ but only a true artist can make bread worth eating.

If you mean the recipe I tried to make from The Cake Bible (c. 1988), I had to pull the book out! The cake recipe was called the “Golden Cage,” also known as the Zauber Torte! Funny though - the picture looks different from my memory!

This cake is actually quite easy to make. If you know exactly what to do for each component, can you make a perfect meringue? Do you know how to fold egg whites into yogurt and then fold egg, white yogurt mixture into pastry cream. If you have experience doing all of those things have at it. I don’t know how long she baked that thing, but I have my doubts as to whether or not that crust would have baked all the way. some blind baking would probably be required. So you need experience to make this if you have experience, it will be very simple if you don’t have experience buy extra eggs. Also, there’s way too much cornstarch in here for my liking. I understand that it needs to stabilize the very, airy structure. It’s just not the stabilizer I would choose. This feels like a very German recipe to me. I don’t recognize it as being anything, particularly French.

A variation on lemon meringue pie, which isn't difficult. I'd blind bake the pastry first though.
