The Family that Dethroned the Habsburgs - The Wittelsbachs.

Ойын-сауық

The Wittelsbach Kings and Emperors were influential during the 30 years war, the war of Austrian succession - and shaped how we see modern Europe. Today they lie mostly forgotten, despite their outsized impact on history.

I have a classmate who has Wittelsbach as her surname and when many people first meet her they think she is royal (she can't trace back to any nobility though, so it's not confirmed)

Interesting! In Bavaria they are not forgotten in the least :) They also had two Holy Roman emperors (Ludwig IV. and Karl VII.) and a King of Germany (Ruprecht) who didn't become emperor. The Battle of Mühldorf (1322), in which Ludwig IV. (Louis the Bavarian) of Wittelsbach defeated Friedrich (Frederick the fair) of the House of Habsburg, is considered one of the last classical medieval battles without any firearms, at least in Germany and Western Europe.

Fact certain group lost their defining war doesn´t mean they were as bad as the people who won that war want people to think. When you look into antics of the people who won that war you will find all kinds of deception and genocidal activities.. some of which they directly accused the losing group of having committed (Khatyn forest massacre).

As soon as the bad guys won WW2 (now bombing Palestine) and took over Europe, the royal families are "placed in the dustbin." Maybe there's something to be explored here? Why is Europe's royalty placed in the dustbin whilst foreign invaders and anti-Whites are given the keys to their castles? Paris, London, Munich, Vienna, are all being turned into brown slums that look like Detroit. All that patronage for the arts will be wasted if things don't change. Perhaps their view on Hitler has changed? I can imagine one's perspective must change when you go from dynasty to "dustbin." But only if your eyes are open.
