Imagine if Hive fleet Behemoth, Kraken, Gorgon, Moloch and Jormungandr are all just tendrils of a main Hive fleet that sit outside of the milky way galaxy, like how Leviathan send out multiple tendrils with one even managed to almost wipe out Baal. I don’t think that it is just plausible, but it is the factual predicament, considering that they’re the same race, they adapt, change form and evolve dependent on the conditions rather than showing up differently to each other like Ork warband or Aeldari craftworlds. Meaning that unlike other races, they are united, and much worse is that they’re all, every single one of them, are part of the singular body with singular mind.

It's hard to know which is a bigger threat to the Imperium, the Tyranids or Chaos

@SleepySack Tyranids...by far...Chaos is divided and limited in its numbers. The Hive Mind is one united consciousness, and it's numbers are nigh infinite.

@SleepySack The three biggest threats in order are, Tyranids, Orks and Necrons, Chaos is fourth at best.

God I forgot you need to multiply the unit/defense structure numbers gw gives by like 10 to make sense Like 36 extra turrets? Really? My guy that's less that ww2 ships

Yeah, when a normal human goes hand to claw with a Tyranid he's screwed.
There was nothing magos could have done. Even had he not pursued the Tyrannid fleet, the tyrannids would have eventually overcome his orbital support. Gene stealers had probably already infiltrated his forces through infection. Tyran was doomed the moment the hive fleet arrived. That he held as long as he did even with the mistakes he made speaks to the sheer will and determination of the human forces.
