Resort guests and park goers get so busy. Frantically trying to get on every ride and eat every food that they miss all of these beautiful details. These types of videos are like slowing down time for all of us to take in all that the two properties have to offer. Thanks so much Brickey! 😊

My favorite "fake building" at the Disneyland Resort is a facade facing Main Street on the side of the Star Tours show building. Because the big, boxy building is so tall, it can be seen from a few places on Main Street and the Hub in front of the castle. So they decorated the top half of the building with fake windows, gutters, and paint to make it look like another street in the distance.

Brickey you treat the park like the living museum it is. Everything you showed in this video is the magic that makes Disneyland so special. Part of why most don’t see it is because it is doing what Walt and the Imagineers intended, immersing us in a world that allows us to forget what is beyond the gates and instead take us to a place and time full of joy, smiles and FUN. Keep up the great content and keep doing you!

You should consider exploring more of the historic architecture of Hollywood & downtown LA, especially the theaters along Broadway st. I know you’ll really appreciate the details. There are historical tours that offer so much information about the buildings & their significance. You can even find the original buildings that inspired Imagineers to recreate them at DCA & WDW’s Hollywood Studios. You probably know this, but the Hyperion theater exterior at DCA is modeled after the Los Angeles theater in downtown LA. The actual theater is stunning inside & is only open once a year for an event next month called Last Remaining Seats.

I always wished that Hollywoodland had gotten a real redo when Buena Vista Street was being built. (They had concept renderings at one point to replace the cheesy blue sky with an actual theatre facade and lobby.) That part of the park was the main last ugly remnant of DCA 1.0. (Although a lot of their decisions since removing Tower of Terror have made the park just a hodgepodge of the latest Disney synergy trends. It really needs to be renamed at this point.)

I worked at DL long time ago and ..FYI the buildings on Main St DL has REAL offices upstairs for DL staff and Management. The same is true for the buildings in Adventureland..Fronteirland...NOS they are all under the buldings since you are actually walking on the second and in some areas third floor of a large mostluy undergound building. I can only assume that it is the same for DCA and Buena Vista St...

Love love love this video! I’m an artist so I think that’s one reason I love Disneyland so much. I brought an artist friend to Disneyland for the first Time a few years ago. She was amazed at how we would get transported from one land to another and our senses became totally immersed. She loved it. She said she didn’t understand the hype then but she does now that she has visited.

In high school I got to perform at Disneyland for a choir trip. If I remember right, The "fake building" at the end of Hollywood street, the Mac and cheese one I think was access to the stage on the other side. And my memory isn't great. But somewhere behind the riperian theater was backstage area for us to warm up and change etc. It had old sets from shows I think?? It was so awesome. No phones allowed unfortunately but not surprised by that.

Always love your deep dives. Hollywood land is interesting because when it opened it was supposed to be a backlot so the buildings were supposed to be facades as you would have at a working studio and that is why we get to see the backside as fake. Hopefully they continue to build out the area as Marvel themed areas and we make it better fake buildings and cityscape. Thanks for all the fun observations and info. #club1313

it goes even deeper; during the time when Walt Disney first came to LA, he was a vacuum salesman for something hilarious like two days, and he hated it so much that he quit on the spot. Called the company and told him where they could pick up the samples he had left on the street. So a little secret nod to some of his failures during the "suitcase and a dream" era
