Starvation, drugs, chemicals, torture. Every year more than 100 million animals die because of animal testing in just the U.S. They are confined to barren cages, socially isolated, and psychologically traumatized. All because you wanted that expensive lipstick. Mice, Rats, Primates, Cats, Dogs, they languish in pain, suffer from extreme frustration, and long to be free. Instead all they can do is sit there and wait for the next terrifying and painful experiment, that no one can save them from. Do we think it ok, just because they can’t tell us how much it hurts? Do we think it's ok to put another living, breathing creature through a lifetime of pain, loneliness and terror, which will just end death. But who cares? We can just replace them.

Sweet dude, I am glad you did! I'm writing a paper on this for college. The way we conduct scientific experiments on animals needs to change. Not only for the animals, but because it'll help our scientific knowledge as well. Simply treat them like with the same respect as we would humans, its proven to lead to better science. i tried starting an animal lives matter movement back in 2019 but didnt have enough support to do the movement. not sure if i was allowed to for my age either but im 19 now. i did start an animal activist group in my school though. we made animal lives matter posters and did videos and stuff but we sadly did not make it into the press and media

Female cows are forced into breeding (they put semen in them instead of the cows naturally having sex which I think is wrong on its own). Mother cows are very protective of their children and they love them with all their heart. Once the calf is born, they take the baby away from the mother and the mother becomes very depressed. They take the female calves to raise them to receive milk from and once old enough, they force them into breeding. If the mother becomes too depressed, they slaughter her. The males are put up for slaughtering too. This happens in most cases (not all the time), but humanity is really disgusting :’(

I also don't enjoy the process of testing on the animals themselves, but like you said, there's no other option. To the person that's going to bring up in-vitro testing, yes that is used alongside animal testing, and has reduced the need for live animals significantly. They're still necessary.

why don't companys try asking for volunteers to test their products instead of testing them on animals? I mean, wouldn't that be more practical since a lot of the products that involve animal testing are meant for people. the only exception for this is if the products that are being tested are meant for animals, and even then should be forced to follow strict regulations.

Companies do in fact make cattle calls for volunteers, but the FDA has massive regulations on what they can and can't do that they must have certain it's not a death thing. They have to compensate the test subjects pretty heavily for any bad results that most companies don't want to do this until they are sure the negatives are reduced enough.

now i want to keep all animals on this earth (even if they are dangerous) in our vegan family house. i remember one time we raised a bunny family and named the two little bunnies Jade and Pheniox. Jade later had children of her own (Pheniox is still alive) in our backyard under a ''mistletoe'' tree. Nina, our oldest dog, found Jade's children, and even though she is a siberian/black lab mix, she carried Taco (the runt) SO delecatley to our backyard doorstep. Taco had a pretty bad scar when Nina was digging them up. when we picked up Taco, Nina rushed to the mistletoe tree. Taco was healed, but our neighbours cat killed him! Jade's surviving children, Thunder, Lil Bub, and Burrito, (Jade and Pheniox) still visit evrey spring.

This is very inaccurate and misleading. While animal testing is bad, most of the methods and procedures in this video are outdated and haven't been done in decades.

The Nerd Beast I didn't check all the experimented cited in the website and the video but at least this one "Cell-type-specific modulation of targets and distractors by dopamine D1 receptors in primate prefrontal cortex" was published in 2016. It's the one refering to the monkeys with electrodes in the head, and I quote the paper in the method section about the rewards for the monkeys "Correct trials were rewarded with a drop of water."

you cannot release domestic animals into the wild but you can release them into knowedgeable, educated, safe loving homes!! its illegal to test on wild animals and its illegal to release domestic animals into the wild. save ralph messed up with the part where they had him say he would probably be off in some feild or meadow if it wasnt for animal testing. but its more likely he wouldnt of been born or he wouldve been in some hutch being used as a food source. that breed of rabbit is commonly used as food. its called a new zealand white rabbit. lots of people keep them as pets but most arent kept properly. being honest here. its not just animal testing that needs change but animals being bred for food should be allowed to live in a nice setup for their short time on earth. i wish i could start a movement for animals

I am a huge animal lover and I hate to hear that animals are suffering just because human kind says that it is the best way. Do u even care to the animals that suffer hard?!

People in the United States eat 9 billion chickens and 150 million cattle, pigs and sheep annually, yet only around 26 million animals are used for research, 95% of which are rodents, birds and fish. Using animals is a small price to pay for advancing medical progress.

This needs more views, this is very important and is completely right. Testing on animals does not make any sense, and we should test on human cells instead. Thank you for spreading the word!

Ok, most people here are against animal testing, but what I'm fed up with is the people complaining about it. You have NO RIGHT to complain if you are not actively trying to stop it. Oh yeah, humanity is sick, but what are we doing about it, complaining on the internet? Yeah, what a big difference we're making. People who are using products that are cruelty-free are making a difference. People who are signing petitions against animal-cruelty are making a difference. Scientists who are using cell cultures of humans instead of animals are making a difference. People complaining about how awful people are on the internet? No, they're right. People writing those kind of comments are awful.

Save the animals. This is why I don't wear makeup

Animal experimentation is nessessary. The video was very bias. And it's not like they pick up a puppy off the street and start torturing them, they raise a Specimen for the sole purpose of research. And all of this is quite over exaggerated in the video.

Stop animal experiments , they have feeling like us , humans and they are not toys !!!!

Those people who tested the animals are horrible people!

Everyone can make a difference, start by buying products that don't test on animals and start from there. Ladies and some gents, if you're obsessed with all the cosmetics and lotions and potions like me, buy from Lush. All of their products are hand made with natural ingredients like honey and sea salt, and they don't test on animals. If the law won't get involved you still can play your part and make a difference.

Unfortunately, there are some brands that use animals as experiments, let's protect live animals.

Really? Cmon guys, this isn’t right. We shouldn’t use animals. Maybe use people that are fine with doing this? Like, have people willingly sign a contract that says that they are fine with doing this? Or, donating something? Maybe it would make it better, but don’t use animals! I don’t know what to use instead. I just don’t like seeing animals being tested on like this because it makes them sick, hurt, or causes death.

I expected PETA to show this to the world..

They're too busy murdering the majority of the animals that come under their care. If you want to look for animal rights organizations look elsewhere than PETA. Especially since they're so willing to lie, exaggerated, and manipulate.

great video! There is much deeper stats and figures out there (for those willing to look) if you still need convincing about the scientific fraud that is vivisection. This is a great introduction to the practice, and Ive already shared it. Keep up the great work- writing and animation team!

I can see how animals as testing subjects is cruel and heartbreaking, but what other way would there be to develop new medicines and cures? Of course, there are many different animals that are astronomically different to us, but that's why we use the animals that are as similar as we can find. I've seen in many other comments that eating meat is the issue, which it may cause a minimal amount of diseases, does not cause cancer or many other life-threatening diseases. If we don't use animals, we could jump straight to human test subjects, but then we run the risk of killing them. Of course, I'm not going to justify animal use in possible life-threatening ways, that's just a life wasted for a failed experiment. However, we shouldn't jump straight to humans for the same reasons. So, what to we do? Do we stop testing completely? How do we continue testing for medical and scientific advancement if using lifeforms as test subjects is wrong? I'd like to hear all debates, I'm open to changing my own opinion if proper evidence and persuasive writing is present and I'd love to have some FRIENDLY debates to see if we can all reach a similar conclusion or if this question really is unsolvable for now. Just to clarify, I adore animals and I despise seeing the cruel things they are put through, but I don't see a way that I, on my own, could fix it. I do eat meat, you can't change my mind on that, and I do believe that animal testing can be a horrible waste of life, but I don't know how I could solve such things without such horrible affects on the world.

Catt Naps! I'm not here for the purpose of changing your mind, just so you know, but if you do then cool. I personally think people would volunteer to be tested on if they had the option. I think animal testing might be good to have as long as the scientists learn how to properly treat them so they aren't hurt and dying all the time. The reason I don't want it to completely disappear is because I want cures for animal sicknesses too. I want my trips to the vet to matter, and I want their lives to be fairly healthy and happy. But if we are doing this for humans, I think it would just make more sense to test on ourselves.

Animal testing? Straight to jail.

Why do we do this?! For some reason I feel guilty even though I will never do it! 😖

What you should do:test humans in jail that have a life long time in there, they would want to die anyway.
