@@Adventures-pk8lg That's what i thought exactly. Water is only about 50cm. I was forced to drive in flooded street almost completely submerged the tire of my Haval H6. Went in the water slow at a consistent pace and the car came through without damage. I would bet on a Pajero over a Haval any time. The Haval's build and quality is good but it has too much electronics.

The guy in the shiny Shogun must have felt like a right chump getting towed by a 30yr old Land Rover 😆

Noticed that as well. These Skoda’s can have an optional DCT (DSG). It’s trying to ‘crawl’ like a regular automatic transmission in D but then the traction control kicks in.

Even if you don't instantly damage your engine, water getting into all those modules causes a whole new world of pain when they start shorting out later from water infaltration.

That definitely happens, my wife drove our Vito through deep water in a storm in Cumbria and it survived, however the Aircon fans on the radiator were going berserk and wouldn't shut off, had to pull the fuse on them for a few weeks to stop them while it dried out, and the headlamps were full of moisture till I left the bulb holders open for a while on a sunny day to allow them to dry out.

@@jaygo8442 y wife has a Kodiaq AWD its not really a full on 4x4 its really an AWD it has electronic diff Locks that are as useless, we got stuck in 5 inches of snow near Caithness at Christmas, the front wheels spun but the rears did nothing, FWD Kodiaq is fine if you just want to drive about on Normal roads with your Family or carry lots of kit , FWD SUVs make sense and they are less expensive to run than the heavier AWDs that guzzle fuel and don't really perform any where as good as fulltime 4x4s anyway. Not everyone needs or wants an AWD SUV. I would not have even attempted this in my Discovery sport which has a dedicated 4x4 set up

I have a Pajero/Shogun and the air intake is at the level of the bonnet. Don't make a huge bow wave and it'll go fine. Drive like a dumbass and you'll hydrolock the engine!

Most of the idiots seem to think that driving through it fast will make it better. Then the bow wave floods the engine bay and "Game over". The guy pulling the box lorry out knows what he'd doing. Slow, progressive, gentle. Know where you air filter is! Mine is just beside the bonnet catch! I think a lot of them are there or up near the window wiper recess.

I'm sorry but he was not driving carefully at all... while he was moving the water level was above the volkswagen logo and when the engine cut out the water dropped by almost a foot... whether he would have made it or not, he had the opportunity to reduce the bow wave by a foot and he chose not to, that's not driving carefully, that's driving too fast. I think people get confused at how dead slow you need to drive through these things.

I can confirm the intake on those VW vans are under the RH headlight under the air box. So very low and not in a great spot to prevent water being sucked up into the air box. But like every bellend that fails if they only went dead slow and not make a bow wave pressure wall of water into the intake they would probably have no trouble at all.​@@JustOneQuestion

Why are they driving through water in such small vehicles?? Now you have to drain the diffs and have water in the cabin, as for the milk float that’s toast! You need a diesel truck with raised air intake and raised air suspension to drive through water like that without damage.

First time ive seen a Tesla stranded.
