It's either 'lucky' genes ( i use the term "lucky" very loosely) that he got to the 'gaining alcohol weight' stage, or it was good stage makeup and he still looked healthy. Not just this episode. I love the one where she asked Joey to write her a check, and Joey thought she wanted to have sex. Her response to his assumption is gold.

many comedians become just that to mask their inner pain and childhood trauma. sadly many cant find a way to break out of the pain, cycle. always fallin in same crowd that hurt them, new names faces but same types of hurtful people. finally they give up. nothing in the world is worth living for alone, hated etc.

I think he said that he wasn’t sober until the last season. The seasons he put on weight was when he switched from drugs to drinking.

It's either 'lucky' genes ( i use the term "lucky" very loosely) that he got to the 'gaining alcohol weight' stage, or it was good stage makeup and he still looked healthy. All of the alcoholics I've known/ known of, by then look like hell. It's very very sad. There's not enough support.

He was a bit overweight at this time, that he admittedly confessed was when he was drinking too much. When he appeared too skinny, he said he was using opioids, etc.
