THE EXTERMINATOR _ CUSTOM TOY BUILD
Ойын-сауық
I took a Buzz Lightyear action figure, Final Faction Crawlers and a 3D misprint and made this custom toy "The Exterminator". Because the Buzz Lightyear toy had good articulation I wanted to make a diorama where this robot has conquered a space alien spider. Here is a toy mashup along with a resin 3D printed part and I even got one Gundam piece in there... 😀
I hope you enjoy this toy customization video!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, and as always...

Love it. Funny how fast the body stopped looking like Buzz.
This turned out great. Nice way to get some use out of a scrap head.

I think it might be easier to do a black under coat, then layer white on top. Then sand/scratch the edges where you want the black weathering to show.
So Cool 👍

Great customization/conversion! I love the Starship Troopers vibe (bug smashing and all 😁). You could hardly tell it used to be a Buzz after you finished. The paint and weathering was awesome as well! That reject head worked perfectly, though with that larger open neck this almost screams for exposed wires, cabling, and such. Will have to see about trying my hand at one of these. Thanks for sharing and keep on keeping on!!

First time viewer, first time posting. I was looking for kitbashing videos when I ran into this one. I have to say, this is an awesome piece. That’s it. I’m binge watching your channel. I like it because it seems whimsically science fiction. Like the scenes make sense as a cool looking robot, who happened to skewer an alien creature but it’d gladly give you directions to where you needed to go nonchalantly as you look onto it’s achievement, shocked but not traumatized.. They aren’t dark but just right for its premise. Made for all to see. Great imagination.

Thanks so much. You’re too kind. I hope you will find the premise of my channel is to have fun and know that it’s ok not know exactly how to do something. But if we use our noodles, nine times out of ten we can come up with a solution. It may not always be the best solution (trust me, people let me know 😅) but at least you tried. And sometimes they are totally lame solutions but that’s ok as well. Thanks again.😃

Just discovered your channel and love your stuff. After looking at your base painting I had an idea you might like to try, For bases such as the one in this video you should look into oil washes. A couple shades of brown and maybe a green gives the ground a variability in color and therefore a more natural look. The different colors blend perfectly and if you dilute it enough the dry time is brief.

Another great video, thanks for posting. I've watched several of your videos and I've noticed you use a spray on primer and brush on acrylic paint. Have you ever had any trouble with the paint crackling? I did a project with a Dollar Tree plastic gun and gave it a "Steampunk" theme. One area, the acrylic paint I applied after the primer base crackled. It turned out ok, the crackle effect looked good just in that one spot.

I have, normally for me it’s been because I’m so impatient and the paint underneath hadn’t fully dried…
I love the video!! You did a great job Question- the 3D print had a base on it from the printer. How did you make it?
@DRToysCreations
Жыл бұрын
I believe it’s set up in the slicing software, I believe it’s called a raft. To be honest my buddy sets it up and sends me the files to print so I don’t exactly know, but I’m pretty sure it’s in the slicer.
I do think you kinda overdid the black chipping effect, but it has the maybe unintended effect of making it look almost cell shaded which is pretty cool

I kinda got that same vibe when I was finished. It’s funny how when you’re working and you’re just not sure… it’s not exactly what I was thinking but like you said in the end it work. 😃

Hey, kinda new to your channel but i love what you do! Have you ever tried your hand at a Barbie conversion? I made a €1 doll into a Cyberpunk chick last week and had loads of fun with it, it seems right up your alley and i'd love to see what someone with your skill level can come up with

You know, that Buzz body could also be used to make a character from the MegaMan X series or one that looks as if it came from it. *Hint hint*
