FINAL FACTION DOLLAR TREE REPAINT - Stormtrooper

Ойын-сауық

This is a simple How To video to help you custom paint a Dollar Tree Final Faction action figure. I wanted to do a custom toy using a Final Faction figure and make it into a Stormtrooper like action figure that looks like it could be in a Star Wars movie. I show the paint I use and how I approach the custom paint job. With one Final Faction figure and one Final Faction accessory set from the Dollar Tree and a little paint I think you will be able to make your own custom painted Final Faction action figure!
I hope you enjoy this custom toy repaint video!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, and as always...

    Just wanted to let you know I discovered your channel yesterday and I love it. I'm into lots of things scale and buildable. I started with scale cars, but became disillusioned because of my skill level. I'm starting over again, and finding the love of just creating and have discovered Final Faction toys. It was upon this, that I found you, and had to let you know how welcome your approach is. I see and make use of so many videos out there, but you are right at my level with everything and I am so, so appreciative. Thank you.

    Funny timing. We just got home from service this morning. On the way home we stopped at Wendy's for burgers & I was sitting there in the drive thru telling my family that I need to go to Dollar Tree because they have the Final Faction action figures. My wife me to go, but I opted not to because we were in a hurry. Now I get home to sit down, eat, & watch your video. I should have gone. LOL You did an amazing job of showing how you did this at my level of ability to understand. I have some ideas that I'd like to work on & I'll be taking a staycation the 4th of July week. Looks like you may have directed me towards a project or 2. LOL Thanks for this awesome video!!!

    @@DRToysCreations they actually suck for washes, but if they're thinned to a heavy cream like consistency they'll leave a nice smooth surface finish that's perfect for brush painting. • @DRToysCreations

    @DRToysCreations

    Жыл бұрын

    Awesome, I kinda go back and forth on that. if you seal it with a gloss sometime the wash will just bead up but if you dont seal it will definitely absorb more of the wash over all. I have had better luck with a matte or satin clear coat. The nice part about a clear coat is you can take the scruby side of an old sponge and remove most of the wash without destroying your paint job.

    So I typically use just a rattle can Rustolium from Home Depot or Lowe’s. I know they are some nicer name brand model kits sprays but they are just too expensive for me. The finish just depends on the look I’m going for. Sometimes if building like a robot I may want it to be grungy and rusty so I would do a matte finish but if the bot is newer I may want it to be shiny so I’ll use a gloss. Many times the piece will give you that vibe of what it should be and you just gotta trust your gut.

    I use the artist brushes from Hobby Lobby when the are 40% off. They're not super quality but do the job for me.

    So you basically just turned a $1.25 DOLLAR TREE toy into a Star Wars figure with a starting bid of $25 that when bidding is over...the figure sold for $113.00! Yeah... that's basically what i just saw in this 15 minute video. #inspired
