FINAL FACTION Dollar Store Scratch Build - How to take a dollar droid and do a custom Scratch Build

Ойын-сауық

Found this cool little Final Faction Dollar Store toy and thought it would be fun to do a quick custom scratch build. I took a hairspray caps a quarter machine container and some Dollar Tree Final Faction droid parts and built a pretty cool scratch build Snow Droid.
I hope you enjoy this custom toy!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, have a great one!

That's super cool. I thought it would be a nice touch to put those wires on the other leg, too. That way it doesn't look like you're trying to hide wires, but more like they are part of the robot.

Dude you didn't sound to thrilled with the outcome but the insane amount of work you put into this piece and that wiring which you wound up having to make holes throughout the piece including the base and that ingenious placement of the tea light is seriously impressive. This seemed like an exercise in patience at a ten! I am very impressed.

Thanks. Sometimes at the end of a build I’m critiquing my own work, thinking about all the things I wish I would have done. That’s the fun part about being a maker critique and observe your mistakes and make the next one better.!😃

You have truly pleased the algorithm. I also got you randomly in my feed and am very happy to have found you. Running the wires through the leg as druid cabling was truly an excellent notion. Mirroring the wires with dummy's on the other side would have hidden the power leads utterly though. Just a thought for future builds. Keep up the good work!

Love it.😊 it also looks like something I'd pay $20 to $30 dollars for at a hobby shop, If I hadn't watched you build it I'd never have known it was made using recycled bits of plastic caps, and dollar tree toys. xD

That's a really excellent result! As a personal thing, because I always have an internal backstory to everything I make to justify the end result, I would have matched the wiring on the right leg, to make it look more functional. That's a great scratch build, though.

Great point! In actuality I should have drilled through the top portion of the leg as well and I could have hid the whole thing. You remember Black Hole? Those beat up robots that were the good guys would be a great basis to build these types of robots from. those, or make mechs for the hero guys to ride around in...

Very nice build man, great idea separating the body with a spine probably gonna steal that idea for my next build and the paint job finished it off nicely. Looking forward to the next one. 😎

Go for it, you got this! Keep your eye out for toys at your local thrift store to experiment on... if you mess it up it's only a buck or two. Trust me I had more than a few that didn't work out...😀

Came across your channel recently and love your videos. One thing I noticed while watching the turnaround was that something felt a little off. I realised it's that the left arm and left leg are both behind the body whereas in a natural walking motion the arms and legs are opposite (when right leg is stepping forward, the left arm is swinging forward) The build and paint was fantastic, but I think switching up the legs or arms to make them alternating would have made it work better and create a more interesting silhouette.

Thanks. Yup, simple oversight can make all the difference in the world... I noticed that as well, after everything was glued into place... MERP 😬 Thanks for the insight and thanks for checking out my work!
