When you find something that you weren't even looking for and then get lost because of it. A random recommendation in my feed and 6 episodes later back to back is dark and I have no idea of the time. Great adventure and superb storytelling.

I was going to tell you how much I enjoyed this series but then I read Luke's comment... and couldn't put it better myself. So... whatever Luke said. I hope you have more adventures coming soon as I'm alrady having withdrawal symptoms. Fantastic!

Beau, Today I just happened to stumble upon your run a mile every hour video. Shortly thereafter I went to your channel and was transported across the world on your train tracks run and then through 6 episodes of kayaking. Your work is incredible and I look forward to watching your other films and seeing the new work you create! Greetings from Westfield, Indiana! Here we paddle on large mud puddles, scuba dive old quarries and bike farm roads haha Great work, can’t wait to see more!!

Well it’s two years and I just binged watched from Denmark. Awesome. All the best Beau.
A month ago KZread recommended that I should watch "A Mile an Hour" I didn't clicked on the Video, because im more of a Cyclist and not at all a runner. The Video got in my Feed again and again. Three days ago I clicked on the Thumbnail. And it was SO WORTH IT! Now all the Videos of Beau Miles later I'm laying in my bed crying over this amazing journey at sea and in life in generel. I'm proud of a total stranger and his mates. And my breath was completly taken away by this inspireing Person. Cheapau and a big Applause!
Beau, I've got to tell you something. About an hour and 35 minutes ago, your mile an hour video popped up on my feed. I watched it, and was immediately taken by your fresh perspective, inspirational manner of speaking and doing, and your philosophy. It really resonated with me. Then I watched your junk office video, and then now I'm sitting here finishing up your bass kayak expedition, and I feel like I was a part of the ride. What you did here was truly special. You brought strangers together, and formed a lifelong connection over something that will always be remembered and talked about. Something that millions of people live without, but yearn for. You seem like someone I could talk to for hours, and never stop listening. Because I always want to learn more. I've now told four other people about you, because I truly hope more people take the time to watch this series. It's so much more than a couple of guys doing something momentous, and in fact isn't really about the kayaking at all. There's such a journey that takes place here, and it's one that surely served to be documented. Thank you for sharing this with us. I also hope the best for your friend Tim. As someone who's been with family in that situation, I hope for the best. I've now subscribed, and will probably spend some time watching your other content. And I had things to do today damnit!
Great adventure Beau. I did the trip solo in Dec 2017 starting at Port Washpool taking 7 days to Musselroe Bay battling a strong westerly storm that hit me on Day 4 near Whitemark - the winds lasted till I paddled to Davenport on Day 10 (I used a larger 1 sqm Flat Earth sail and the same plastic boat I used from a trip from Singapore to Australia so surfed the 1.5m swell in 30 knot winds rather than wait it out on the islands). For anyone contemplating a good long trip like this - these videos are an invaluable way to pick up planning, equipment and paddling tips. Having now done a few crossings & long trips in my time but only carrying a still camera - its great to see the videos as they bring back so many memories of the fantastic scenery so see from water level.
I find myself coming back to Beau's videos when things in life seem to loose their meaning. The insights and humbleness Beau brings to my screen seems to bring everything back into perspective. Thanks for the consistant perspective.
honestly touched me on a deep level... beautiful how your able to verbalize and analize what happens on a deeper level then just "we crossed".. a very inspiring series!
I caught myself smiling throughout this all series. Then i got sad thinking about my life. Then i decided i'm going to start traveling.
I think this might be the first youtube comment I've ever made, but I just wanted to say I've really enjoyed watching these videos and seeing how the group dynamic evolved throughout. I've got a trip to SE Asia planned for January and this inspires me to make a plan and reassures me that I'll end up making friends with all different sorts wherever I go. Big love from the UK!

John, this also might be my first KZread comment. I recently discovered Beau's channel and although not a Kayaker myself, I feel a great sense of connection to how he talks of his journeys and experiences, simply as someone who has a passion for exploration. I've travelled S.E Asia several times and let me re-reassure that you're most likely about to undertake the most significant journey of your life. One you'll that will open your eyes to the world outside of ours in the UK. You'll randomly meet interesting like minded people, some of which will be friends for life. Accept offers of adventure, escape your comfort zone and just bloody live life! Marc from Scotland
Just back to backed all six. Perfect timing as I am hm in bed feeling rather ill. I’ll get better and know that I have my own great adventures ahead of me. Thank you. 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺

I can honestly say that I have truly been moved by not only this series but all your films Beau. Thank you ❤
No idea if you'll ever read this, but I want to personally thank everyone involved for these incredible short films on the channel. I went to see the world after high school and worked wherever I was to achieve the dreams of seeing places and feeling alive - and came back just to completely drown in university and work and habits. Never have I sat down and let my experiences do their thing, never have I put them to paper. This channel and especially Episode 6 right here has done the trick in waking me up, getting me to document all the things I still remember about my travels, the friendships I formed. And it's got me to value the adventures again, driving out to the mountains, lakes, woods around me. I almost drowned in law and history and sociology and philosophy and I still attribute immense value to all those, but I've escaped from feeling numb and revisited the old train line - my old train line - that lead me to pure happiness all those months ago. Thank you.
I don't know how anyone can watch the first episode and not the rest absolutely amazing glad the youtube alg recommended me to Beau
You must be the most interesting person on youtube. So many unique concepts and superb storytelling. I don't really know how I ended up here but I bloody enjoyed every second. Goodonya
Like others I was minding my own business when KZread suggested one of your videos. It was the mile an hour one. I watched it and was hooked within minutes. You’re zest for life, you’re language, your accent and enthusiasm was just intoxicating. I watched every video back to back. I played them whilst working in my garage, having a shower and before I got out of bed. Whenever I got a chance to watch video it was your channel. You have done what you want to do and had so much fun doing it I have to say I’m jealous. it’s been such a pleasure to watch you’re adventures unfold. As a 55 yr old ex cop, I think I’ve missed out on something after watching you. Well done fella. Hopefully you’re videos will go viral soon and you reap the rewards of you’re hard work. You are an inspiration to young minds.......and old. Take care.
You my friend are a unicorn! A magical being that i never knew existed, until i fund your channel. Cheers dude.
Just got transported into another world. Couldn’t stop watching, great 6 part series!!. Amazing story telling. So great to be released from the mundane bullshit, and watch something amazing.
Fantastic, Fantastic adventure, beautifully made. Much like the other viewers, I stumbled across the first episode and back to back I've just watched all 6. Thank you for sharing, I thoroughly enjoyed watching. All the best...
Got randomly recommended your beans video and now it's two days later and I've watched all of them from the mile an hour, to your trip around Africa and beyond. From the other side of the world in bonnie Scotland I look forward to further adventures and hope you and Helen are staying safe in this crazy time!
KZread has hidden you from the masses. Sitting here in Pennsylvania absolutely astounded how beautiful this series is. Wonderful work sir. Absolutely wonderful.
I found your content about 2/3 days ago. I've watched quite a few videos now, disappointed there's not a whole lot more, but I'll say this much, with these current times being so different, I've started to hit a real low and your videos are going to give me the kick up the arse I desperately need and will get me doing things again. A definite inspiration and certainly one I will be looking out for for a very long time.
Hey Beau, thank you for sharing that with such a personal touch !! Really fantastic journey, film piece and that search for aw you've captured. For my next trip back in Lofoten in Norway, your film just fell from heavens. I have been always doing solo trips on kayaking, but this time I guess I'll find some friendly people share to ride. Thank you thank you thank you !!!
I've never been a runner, I've never really been a hiker, I walk occasionally but never thought of it as anything that good, I discovered this channel, and this man about 3 days ago, when I saw his bean video and since, I've pushed myself past limits I never thought I could, everyone should watch what this amazing person does, and go out and push yourself, step out of your comfort zone, discover things about yourself you never have before
Beau, what a beautiful journey and thank you for sharing it with all of us. I've been restoring a tiny 10' sailboat for the better part of 4 months and it's recently become a chore. This film has really reminded me why I took it up in the first place, and where I'll sail once she floats. Thank you.
I'm really upset your films were never recommended to me sooner, but I guess here I am now. I've spent the last hour or two binging all 6 parts and I just wanna they're incredible, in every way.
That last line is magnificent poetry "home is where you make meaning of your experiences" What an amazing human.
I feel like this guy will blow up because the cinematography is so good. I hope you get to 60k and eventually 1M
Thank you Beau and the rest of your kayaking mates, for sharing a great adventure. You have taken me back many years, to a time when I learned to surf in a rescue kayak off the beach at Marsden Bay, and the North East coast near Newcastle Upon Tyne. Weekends of either surf, rock hopping and exploring the coast or White water on the North Tyne. Great memories from 32 years ago. Walking the paths of Brittany France were I now live a rugged coastline of rocks, bays and sandy beaches, like Marsden Bay and the Northumberland coast I fell in love all those years ago. Many times I have looked at sea kayaks again and dreamed. I have often wondered how great the coast would look from the sea, easily achieved on a tourist boat, but you have reminded me, how amazing it is to arrive under your own steam, to be at one with the sea in a way that is only possible in a kayak. Thank you again for a great narrative and stories from the kayak trip to the railway run, which both my son and I enjoyed. Take it canny Bonnylad.
found it. Excellent! Many Thanks to you & to Monash for making this available! You've rekindled a flame here that was almost out, lad! i won't forget again.

When I get on youtube i usually just watch videos and not really fully appreciate them. This i did... Even brought a smile to my face. I lived in Tasmania for a bout 6 years and never once have I been so wowed by a video of it or even getting to it with it the used of ferry or plane. Bloody Brilliant.
Thank you for publishing this adventure Beau. I just watched most of this series with my hyperactive four year old boy. He sat transfixed, eyes wide and I could almost hear the gears in his mind working as he planned his own journeying through new territories, powered only by his will and determination. The future is bright ✊
A beautifully shot journey and most of all, fabulous storytelling. I watched all 6 episodes, utterly riveted.
Hey mate, loved all your kayaking films, especially this series. Hope your PhD went well. Thanks heaps for the inspiration. Best wishes from Ireland.
I can't explain how watching your videos make me feel, they're like an adventure and make me motivated to go out and explore the world. It's absolutely mental you don't have one million, let alone 100k subs yet, I'll be here watching in Canada when you cross that threshold.
Absolutely superb. The thing I always hate about adventures is those who rush to the finish line and don’t savour the experience. Your attitude to life is inspiring. I love to explore my surroundings, enjoy repurposing, and whilst I won’t be doing ultra marathons or eating my weight in beans, I have a junk wood paddle blank on the workbench right now. Keep on keeping on, and I look forward to your next adventure.
Beau, I found your channel early today. And now, close to 8.30pm, I have watched hours of thoughtful, interesting and inspiring film production. Your a comet of a man Beau, cheers for sharing. 👍
why am i crying after watching this whole series. so awesome
Incredible series Beau, I'm here sat in Bournemouth, UK, watching such a great journey, thanks for making a single morning of entertainment and inspiration to someone you'll never meet on the other side of the planet.
My God you are the most amazing inspiration person I have ever run into. You don't do one thing you do all things. PhD, getting married , working , living . No complaints. You know the world tells you try and do less and that your life will be full because you have accomplished a "Posh" life but that's not true. We've accomplished an empty life . What you do is challenge yourself challenge yourself challenge yourself and you have an amazing story to tell because of it. I thought we had to perfect one thing but you are showing we can perfect as much as we want. I m ready life is too short. I m live like you. Full, happy challenged
Because of the current state of affairs, I'm not out having the little adventures I crave, but this film about your big adventure is helping scratch the itch. Phenomenal job man, both the raw gumption of crossing the Bass, and spinning such an compelling yarn.
So the funny thing is that I started watching this series as a way to procrastinate writing up my own research results, but now here we are at episode six and you've actually inspired me to get back to my data and look for the narrative that's hidden somewhere in there! Thank you, Beau, fantastic storytelling!
A brilliant series found by accident binged watched and weirdly my three favourite people I don't know or will ever meet !! Great achievement guys
I didn’t realise how incredibly bored I am with my life until I started watching your videos. I grew up totally wild in NZ and since moving to Europe and having kids, have turned into a civilised European and just realised my soul might have half died from how mundane I’ve let things get. What a bloody ripper series. Thank you for putting it together.
Awesome bit of storytelling, it's wonderful to see the unseen bits for a change too, like the comradery blossoming and such. Wonderful film definitely put into the favourites list!
Really enjoyed your adventure Beau, I live down by the prom and its a magical place to have started your journey, and to see it shared with others who share the same passion is is a wonder us thing. I couldn't imagine doing it on your own with no one to share it with, it made me think of Andrew McAuley and how lonely and tragic it can be. Great vids.
Thank you for this journey, Beau. Since I stumbled upon your videos, my life has changed for the better. I started running again and going outdoors more. Cheers from Greece.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! What a blessing! I'm thankful you're all safe and sound, but I'm sorry that this adventure came to an end. This was a pleasure to watch. No relation, but this grandmother is proud of you!
Just discovered your videos after seeing you kayak from Mozambique to Cape Town. Just got back from a semester studying in Cape Town and am back in normal life in the US. I’m in the process of trying to get a job for two years teaching back in South Africa. Don’t know if I’ve seen someone encapsulate the beauty and tragedy of being alone in such a beautiful unique place until I saw your videos, thanks for a bit of inspiration to push through and try and get this job away from home and abroad for a couple years.
I am just about to present my Masters concept map on the potential of outdoor education. To say I started off watching as an exercise in procrastination is probably true, I finished off watching as a nerve settler and a reminder as to why I endeavour to go further. Turns out I can relate pretty heavily to both the academic reflection and unpicking and the will to share and explore more. You are an inspiration, Cheers!
honestly dude I‘ve binge watched this series for the last day and it made me extremely emotional and nearly made me cry! It feels raw it feels real. I‘m a big fan of your videos and i rarely ever write comments but this needed to be said! thanks a lot for this!!!
Fantastically shot and edited , thanks for putting this out here for us to live vicariously through.
That was bloody good stuff, Beau. Thanks! Funny how I binged every video of you and then realised (after having you on my KZread radar for 1-2 years now) I haven‘t watched these 6 episodes :D What a good catch!
This man needs at least 3x his current subscribers. I'm sure it'll happen within this year.
Really enjoyed the whole series, entertaining on a number of different levels and this final episode was a perfect way to put the whole adventure into a bottle and send it back out for others to find. Thanks for the journey.
Beautiful journey and masterful telling. You've captured the archetypal heroes journey...severance, threshold incorporation are the three seminal phases - hardwired into the human psyche for millennia - incorporation is the storytelling.
What a fabulous series of episodes, I enjoyed each one on its own merits. Certainly inspirational.
This series was absolutely brilliant and this is coming from a guy who has absolutely no interest in kayaking, not because I tried it and didn't like it but just because I've not been exposed to it at all. What a journey and I love how you explain throughout how you and Matt live relatively normal lives with an office and a home and a wife and all that stuff. It just shows how you don't need to have a crazy, living out of my backpack for months and months travellers lifestyle to have cool, explorative and challenging experiences. Super cool and super inspiring to go explore
Sat up this morning and watched the whole series, honestly the best thing I’ve ever watched and I’m not just saying that. If your reading this Beau, I want you to know this has by far earnt you the respect of being my favourite youtuber. It’s superb quality and an awesome journey I could only dream of doing! Thankyou for sharing it with the world, I’m sure every viewer enjoyed every second!

Thank you for your story telling and they way you present your stories, you have made me think more about life a bit deeper and what us humans can do
I rode a bicycle across the USA, west to east, in 2008. 6,800 KMs over 80 days. The last day riding was incredibly bitter sweet and there was a sense of immense sadness that it was over. After I came back to Australia I was in a weird space for the next six months. It took me that long to process properly what I had achieved. And to accept my return to normality. It was the greatest I have ever done.
Just watched this series as a way of skiving off today's task of drafting my PhD proposal. Thanks for the inspiration Beau. Guess I'd better get back to work.

Really enjoyed watching all 6 eps of your journey with the guys just amazing. Thanks
This was an absolute pleasure to watch! A truly inspiring endeavor, onya fellas
I really enjoyed your series and the craftsmanship of building a story that has so many elements; explaining the beauty, the dangers, the camaraderie, the meaning. the paradox of modern life compared to the daily but simplistic goal of just living and “getting there”. You did a great job of tackling the many stories lines in your episodes. Many of us share similar passages in our lives. In my case it took the distance of time (43 years) and different eyes ( my son) to tease out a story that he turned into film about my brother, wife, college friends and I undertaking paddling the British Columbia to Alaska coastline in 1974 and then a return trip to finish off the last 300 miles in 2017. Just as your film did not disappoint any of us that see our earth as a place where many of us go to find the sacred, “The Passage” story takes on this theme and several others. Thanks for your great work and I hope you enjoy this story as much as I liked your series. Alan Dappen kzread.info/dash/bejne/emeVlq-KmJu8kc4.html
Excellent, excellent, storytelling. Beautiful.
The way you speak about life and reality in this series is so far fetched to us almost because these are living times of times that are so imaginary to us, the audience that its pretty much a fairy tale or the land of dreams if you will but its so real... Its beautiful what you educate to us and it really makes me understand that the world you live in is the world that yourself makes it and it really can be a beautiful place.
Absolutely incredible. Thanks Beau
just binge watched this and more of your videos. This was so awesome. Talk about motivation, my goodness. So awesome, Beau.

This series really captures the best of adventure...The hard days, the scary days, the great days and all the banter inbetween with mates to keep the heart of the trip alive. Really enjoyed watching this Beau - beautiful crafted and told. Very inspired to get a hold of some mates and start planning the next adventure!
Absolutely amazing. So stoked on your videos.
Thanks Beau. This film was a great gift to all of us
Absolutely. I traveled to the high desert of Nevada to donate a Kawasaki Mule 1000 to a non profit horse rescue named Medicine Horse Project, where its a proven fact that horses are good Medicine. 1st I've not been much past Colorado, let alone a desert. So to say excitement and fear road on each other's shoulders was dam straight. My mechanic checked over my F-150 Ford from '92, she's got a weak cylinder but she'll make it I'm told. Well all through the trip I had second thoughts. I finally arrive but the bountiful of territory i covered was just gorgeous it truly cleansed my soul. So this horse Bravehart teaches me the value of trust, from a horse I say!! I learned that breathing in the nose of horse one communicates their wellbeing. Maybe like a dog in its mannerisms. As Bravehart taught me trust through touch I wept and hard. During my release the horse put his head on mine and purred a means to comfort me. Never had i ever had an experience! Truly rewarding, well it changed my whole outlook to life especially with this Covid-19 thing, loss of my massage biz everything. I change in course a new adventure 😁. I'm loving your channel
Thank you for your glimpses of brilliance. 👏👏👏
This is the inspiration I needed. This is a prime example of Storytelling because it tells the truth, the friendships, emotions, fun and painful parts of adventures. Absolut Masterpiece is this. Well Done!
Mesmerising story telling, couldn't stop watching all of the episodes

Absolutely beautiful series. It's impossible not to get sucked in and feel almost as if you're there with you. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely fantastic series! Thank you so much for sharing Beau. This was more than inspirational
This series is one of those great reminders to make sure we are stepping across the line of our individual day to day lives and pushing the boundaries to see what we are capable of. Brilliant set of videos.
