No, she was socially awkward... she had no social skills and no knowledge of taking care of herself. It was all thanks to Penny that she started blossoming. But unlike Bernadette that kinda just settled with Howard, Amy did in fact love Sheldon very much, including his idiosyncrasies (Sheldon is not the easiest person to deal with lol)

@@redacted2275 To be fair, Bernie likes Howard back a lot so I wouldn't call it as she just settled with him. She also has kinky fantasies with him and even when he's distracted, she keeps pampering him and being a lovely wife. Howard was really humbled and left his unnecessary pervert-era because of her lol. One is goofy while the other is sweet and has a very open mind. They balance out each other nicely and often resolve their issues quickly too which makes their dynamic healthier than the other two couples. I still love Shamy the best though since they really show us what first love looks and feels like, and how that helped them grow and become better people together, quirks and all

I agree and I also love how much Amy evolved as a person, she went from a completely female version of Sheldon to a person with some female Sheldon with more of Penny's personality mixed in. Although I wish they tried to do more about Amy's fashion sense. I think she was mostly influenced by her mother which is why she hesitates trying new looks. And the one time she actually tried to change thanks to Raj, Sheldon was just being a baby and it was just hard to watch. Even her wedding dress was just awful and her Nobel prize dress was worse. Regardless, she was still a fun character to watch grow as a person and she is one of my favorites

@@Wasabijo593 I agree sometimes people change when they surround themselves with people and friends, and that's what happened to Amy. When I was alone, I was the shy type, but once I made friends I improved socially and my shyness was gone although I still do get nervous when meeting new people. I could relate to Amy the most out of everyone here, she's become so much more sociable and it was fun to watch her grow. I feel like her real side started to show once she became friends with Penny and Bernadette and she started to hate being left out when they plan something without her and she developed more empathy towards other peoples feelings

It was penny and bernadette who helped transform her from being a female sheldon to an all around individual, they helped her out of her social awkwardness and gave her the skills and feelings needed

I almost didnt notice the fact that they recasted Amy's mom when she actually came in person to meet Amy. I felt the second mom and the first mom cast has an entirely different personality (obviously coz different people but still) and based on the cast, Amy's description of her mom also changed. He just became more of a villain as the series progressed. Lol

For what it's worth, I think this show became more fun when Amy was introduced.

Howard/bern had the best relationship. Amy was perfect with Sheldon because they're both super weird and that was good for both. Leonard and penny. They forced those two together. They had nothing in common. A forced relationship.

No, he wasn't... the whole episode is Amy pointing that out. After he started taking care of her you can say he's thoughtful but like Amy herself says, his bedside matters suck lol Sheldon had no social skills at the time, he did love her because he changed a bunch of things on him for her (by Sheldon standards, that was like a miracle).

Amy has progressed quite well. I couldn't really connect with her at first. In the beginning, she just seemed like a female Sheldon to me. But the more she evolved and developed her own character, the more she grew on me.

Ears and genitalia actually do pair up! They develop in a fetus at the same time. So in a miraclous way they are connected. For example before I start feeling period pain I feel slight pain in my ear (and O had it long before BBT was made or I had read about embryo development). This is my warning sign to take a pain killer.

Some people think Amy's character is weird and that it becomes worse because she becomes more attention-seeking, always craving or needs affection from Sheldon. They fail to realize that it's actually Penny and Bernadette who make her realize that side of her which, in a female's perspective, is actually acceptable especially if you are in love and in a relationship. Imagine if she hangs out with girls who are the same as her (rude, only thinks scientifically, doesn't like physical contact - as portrayed in her first appearance). If she always hangs out with people, women especially, who don't sleep with their partners or get engaged/married or haven't fallen in love, for sure Amy would also be the same as them. She would stay as the female version of Sheldon and she won't grow as her own person. If that happens, Sheldon wouldn't grow either. They would both stay obnoxious and rude thinking there is nothing wrong with it, and they would eventually break up for good because of their overbearing personalities. The gang might even be too uncomfortable and hate on Amy coming over and she will just be another side character like Leslie Winkle. Nobody likes a condescending friend and as Leonard said to Sheldon, "We already have you for that." In a way, Amy's development is essential to the plot as it gives a different flavor of feminine charm and quirky personality. Quirks aside, she is what they need to help Sheldon's development. We're all aware Penny and the rest of his friends help on his growth although at most he's just being tolerated, but with Amy added, he becomes a better version of himself. Amy is his needed big reality check and it was her unconditional love for him that really made him open to change since he seriously doesn't want to disappoint and hurt her. He's even become afraid of her thinking of him as less as a man. She made him realize his mistakes and how sometimes he is already crossing the line and breaking his friends' hearts, to which he listens carefully to and strives to become better. Although I wouldn't say Amy and Sheldon have a balanced relationship, they still work together well and perfectly, both professionally and personally. They are the definition of soulmates in the sense that 'If this person doesn't end up with the other, nobody else will because it just won't work.' Overall, I'm just glad Amy is added to the gang. She's a very interesting and wonderful character and has contributed a lot to the show.

The success of longest running shows always been on either pleasant quirky comedies or intense emotional dramas a fact from big bang to friends and all of earlier ones the point I made in feed back earlier post on Disney's line up of content to be made all scifi dark themes, in audience there is a visual element called " suspension of belief" means all sci Fi fantasies are unbelievable but they must even then in narrative contain an element which makes audience absorbed in it and believe it while watching... other hand all comedies laughter dramas of emotions feelings bring emotional connect.

I found some limits to her acting range. As a geek up front she was more robotic than commander data at his worst. It was over acted. As a drunk, she didn't do very well. She talked pretty normal while throwing in a slight inflection was all. I enjoyed her most in two roles, one as the creepy friend of Bernadette's and Penny who always has some freaky sex ideas. But also she did well when she and Sheldon had to deal with each other later on.

Hahaha if it weren't for this video I would've checked out the like the 1st episode of each season where Amy appears to find out how exactly Amy changed from female Sheldon to just regular

I'm honestly pissed that people claim she was like Sheldon during her earlier showings but in reality she *NOTHING* like him, I would've loved another unique character in a show that's felt so samey without him.

Worst evolution. I stopped watching as soon as she transformed to a generic character and started ruining Sheldon. I don't care if anyone agrees or not but you can't lie show was unbearable to watch whenever she forced her "urges" to Sheldon and started talking "100% private parts only" at EVERY girl's night. Yepp that's it for my rant thanks for ruining the show for me Amy.
