So his gift to her was doing something that was difficult or made him uncomfortable. Making it valuable to him.

Oh that's the best feeling. When you already know that you got something really good, then it turns out It's much much better than you expected.

This truly seems like Sheldon experienced extreme joy for the first time in his life, for at least a long time. He was so happy he couldn't even resist the urge to hug penny! So awesome to see.

Growing up, Sheldon was treated like a genius & not a kid by his family. Only MeeMaw remembered he was a child. The other episode I love is when Amy made Sheldon his MeeMaw's cookies for Christmas & he said, "They taste like her hugs." Can you imagine the isolation Sheldon must have felt growing up, especially because his twin Sister, Missy, was nothing like him & always made fun of him? Small wonder Sheldon had no idea how to have interpersonal relationships with people. Penny showed Sheldon how to have friendships & to show love to people, by her example.

I agree with Soulxxi. Sheldon and Penny's relationship is brother/sister like. More so than with his twin. I think it has to do with the fact his twin never really hung out with him or attempted to understand since he skipped so many grades during their more formative years.

This and Howard's song to Bernadette when she's in quarantine are my absolute favorite scenes from the entire series. It's so touching that Sheldon will go WAY out of his comfort zone to give Penny a very well-deserved hug. And I just LOVE Sheldon's near-faint when he reads the napkin and then repeats it out-loud.

This friendship is one of the purest and most genuine in the history of tv shows

The way Sheldon treat Howard and Raj like his servants is hilarious. Such a good friends. Leonard being so happy when Sheldon hug his girlfriend is awesome

Yeah, although I also liked the end of series 5 I think it was. The one where Howard is in the Soyuz waiting for blast off and the rest of the group are sitting watching it on TV. This is my favourite scene of all TBBT though.

What almost gets overlooked is the cute gift exchange interaction between Leonard & Penny, especially when he says "Because you're SO into science!". The three of them together are the best sitcom threesome since Ritter, DeWitt & Somers.

This was one of my favorite episodes. It's just adorable. The chemistry between Jim and Kaley was amazing from episode one to the finale. Such a great show! "All I'm giving you is the napkin, Sheldon." 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Of course, that awkward hug steals this entire scene!

Sheldon's reaction is priceless. I imagine it was the same reaction Arthur had when he pulled the sword from the stone and became king of Britain.

Jim Parsons is beyond amazing in this scene. Just watch the little tremors and trembling when Sheldon realizes what he has and his brain goes into total overload.

"I can grow my own Leonard Nimoy!" That was the very best episode of TBBT. The whole scenes are gold.

Everything in this scene is perfect. Everything. But the absolute best part is Sheldon's trembling disbelief that he can "grow my own Leonard Nimoy." What a masterful performance by Jim Parsons.

One of my favorite moments . All the character growth in the show made it so special.

That's because Penny did not have on her script the part of Sheldon hugging her... the writers left that out of her script on purpose to capture her true reaction to it... genius... and that is perhaps what makes it such a touching moment. She was not expecting it AT ALL...

This scene is still a masterclass in comedy writing, comic timing and physical comedy. Classic. Obsessed.

This is the pinnacle of the show. Maybe of sitcom history. The concept, the writing, the performances... all perfect. I still have no idea how Jim Parsons, upon hearing he possesses one of the crucial ingredients for a Do-It-Yourself Nimoy, made the color drain from his face. Them getting Mark Hamill to officiate Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. Hubby and I just watched the show though again, and were talking about how many WONDERFUL guests the guys had on the show. I think the Bob Newhart stuff was about my favorite, always thought he was a comedic genius.

The acting here is so great, the way Jim Parsons conveys Sheldon's unable to focus and remain his control, through blind patting for the chair to sit down. It's absolute gold.

I love how he just gave her all the gift baskets

This shows that Dr Sheldon Cooper does have emotions. He just doesn't care about them.

I´ve been using this episode for years to explain the difference between price and value, economics and ethics/politics. Those were the best days of TBBT !!!!

I didn’t start watching big bang theory until the fifth season. Now I’m convinced this show was written solely for my entertainment. It has all my favorite elements. Friendship, relationships, being socially awkward, evolving personalities, science, clever satire, and of course a spritz of knowledge. Perfect recipe😍

I'd go further and say it is one of the greatest moments in TV comedy history, frankly. For me it's up there with the I Love Lucy "chocolate factory", Seinfeld's "Master of your domain" and the MASH finale.

INR they have MUCH better chemistry than amy and sheldon could EVER have heck even raj admited he'd never been jeleous of their relationship cause it is not good enogh and that got amy super offended. XD

This is one of my favorite scenes along with "Ohhh its a tiaraaa!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤

I love how the actor for sheldon, put such good and funny reactions to having a napkin both signed and wiped by leonard nimoy

Love how sheldon accepts advice from penny when he is troubled. Such a good friendship.

TBH, Sheldon's reaction to Penny's gift would be every ST:TOS fan's reaction..minus the cloning plan!

This has to be one of, if not my most, favorite scene in the series. Just funny and wholesome. No cringe or annoyance.

For that awkward hug alone Parsons deserves an Emmy

It's Scenes like this thar made this show so hysterical. The writing was brilliant.

This is probably the best skit of the entire series.
