Wow. I wasn’t expecting to cry this morning but here I am! Bawling my eyes out! Friendship, doing HARD things, community, the beauty of nature! I’m so inspired and in love. Thank you for telling this story.
Wow! Was watching this documentary in the comfort of my warm apartment, and it truly shook me to the core unexpectedly! I have outmost admiration for these courageous women, and most of all a deep sense of gratitude. Talking about pushing REALITY videos to the next level... Wow. Beautiful.
I am a lifelong lap swimmer in my 70’s and I live next to Lake Michigan. This is lovely and inspiring. ❤️🙏🏼
Thank you so much for making this gorgeous, transcendent, healing story. The cinematography was gorgeous too, what a gift
I keep coming back to this film.
This is so beautiful in every way; not just the visuals, but the story, the music. My heart feels so full. I hope to be doing this with my friends in 30 years
I love the cold. I find cold weather very therapeutic for me.
the water wasnt that cold this summer but I spent the majority or my summer in the ocean. Its so soothing, cleansing and somehow addicting
What a glorious film about all that we witnessed in 2020 and now on the other side, these women are the epitome of community and the benefits of all aspects of water, including cold. Thanks for producing this story.
They're amazing and I want to hug each of them!
Wow. This is so moving. I recently read the book Wintering and author Katherine May's exploration of the mental health benefits of cold-water swimming. I think there really is something to it. Also, I used to live in Chicago and remember when the ice would pile up like they showed here. I miss that.

I was hoping I'd find some gold in the comments and this is it...the next book I want to read. Thank you for mentioning it!

Entering my third winter of cold open water swimming in the Salish Sea on Vancouver Island. My antidote for everything. Beautiful deeply moving film, beautiful women. 🩵💦

Wow!!!!!!!!! Incredibly beautiful on so many levels! ❤❤❤
I am so fortunate to have made the acquaintance of a place to swim in Chicago, Pebble Beach. And the friends that I have made there. Yes I am on my way to being one of those Polar Bears. I dipped on November 15 when it was 55° outside! Not certain when I will get in again, however, I am looking forward to it! 💙🧜🏽♀️🤗♾️🙌🏽🪷💜💚

Women are strong not all but many. The ones that are strong put all men to shame. 🙏🏾
Amazing ✊
Remakable ❤
Makes me wonder about rolling in snow in a bathing suit, as an alternative, since I am definitely not going to get in the Ohio River. I have a few friends I could invite to my back yard for that.
Being able to find what clears the mind for a brighter future is magical..encouraging thru community..😂
I did this once chipping away ice to do a plunge I lasted one minute in the exact same place 30 degree water temps pretty intense. I had a Russian guy there with an axe already there chipping away a hole. I was glad he was there to be around because it felt pretty dangerous. Prefer my Hawaii life though but cold water is pretty intense….all about the breathe. 🙏🏾 Props to them they hardcore dedicated over there.
Where is this place?

Promontory Point in the Hyde Park neighborhood, near the University of Chicago. The domed building you see in the background is the Museum of Science and Industry.

Many of us had to find unusual ways to cope and connect with others during the dark times of the pandemic 🤍
Nope. I’m glad this is working for these three women, but it wouldn’t for this one. I’m working to just taking cool showers.
yall are terrible. I used to love New Yorker but now I'll never read it again thanks to poor journalism by Clare Malone
