@@johngreen4683That's true John, and nicely put mate. I haven't had to forgive myself or anybody else in a good many years now. But I've been betrayed in my past, and at the time I held a grudge for a long time, and holding a grudge is like dragging around a huge lump of lead on one's back which causes more suffering on top of the feelings of betrayal. So the only way to lighten the load is to forgive those who trespass against us and keep moving forward until we reach the light of our timeless essence of being where there's nothing really to forgive.✨🙏✨

If you sit there, forgiveness will be a very simple and natural feeling and it will be even simpler to forgive ourselves. So grateful 💓🙏✨✨✨🌺

My reason for trying to have forced forgiveness is that I don't want to be affected by those ancient wrong doings anymore. I want to live a life. Dwelling in resentment is only creating suffering for me so I sincerely want to stop it. The only problem is that it seems not to stop by my own choice. Nature has taught me that acceptance is a natural consequence of things, it cannot - and needs not to - be forced. Major part of human suffering is trying to force things as if they were under one's own control. In nature there is no such thing as unacceptance, because everything, entire life, is given and taken by the omnipotent Mother Nature. How does male God, purposeness of modern society and personal responsibility of an individual fit into this scenario is still very unclear to me. Going back to the simpleness of nature seems not to be an option.

I thought I had fully forgiven someone and held no resentment towards them but today I was triggered with anger, and i became an observer of my thoughts and the thoughts were of a memory of being a victim. I think there was little to no emotion about the initial thing I had forgiven them for but just having the thoughts of bringing up that past behavior makes me wonder if I resent them? 🤔 I behave kinder to the person as though I don’t resent them but I needed a walk to cool off and observe my thoughts. Why would someone think about an old wound they had forgiven or so called healed again if they had truly forgiven? The memory will always be there. Is it normal to think about it or should my brain never go back there? How do I know that I have truly forgiven? Daily I act from a loving ❤place but in a moment when I’m angry I just separate myself to make sure i’m not unkind.

It's quite normal to think about our bad memories because they happened and there's no way to erase them. We can't change them either, but what we can do is change how we feel about them. They can still hold power over us and trigger the pain body, but we shouldn't let them. Detach your emotion from that particular memory and see it as a bygone chapter in your life that taught you a valuable lesson and just focus on creating the next chapters of your life. You are the Author of your own book.🙏

There must be "Just Reparation" against the ones you have sinned against. You certainly want this on your record when you depart this world. God is the final judgment. ONLY God can forgive sins. Forgiveness is necessary but so is apology which precedes it. Without apology, which is acknowledgement of betrayal of trust or other wrongdoing by the other party then forgiveness alone will not be effective and only set one up for further need to forgive. Basically if the outcome is reconciliation then apology / forgiveness is the protocol. In the absence of apology then one's past self has to apologise for having done wrong ie made an error of judgement and then one's current self has to forgive one's past self, accepting and reconciling within self to heal.
