The Jack Casady Signature Bass was designed by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend Jack Casady and is the culmination of years of experimentation by the Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna bassist to find an instrument with superior electric tone and the response of an acoustic bass. Featuring the Casady-designed JCB low-impedance pickup and a three-position rotary impedance control for a wide range of tonal versatility.
Watch as Jack Casady introduces his 20-year anniversary model of his signature Epiphone bass guitar. Meticulously designed, the Epiphone Jack Casady bass, is a particularly responsive instrument thanks to its high-quality, low impedance pickup in the "sweet spot" where all harmonics align, ensuring the deepest and thickest sound with plenty of character.
Watch as Jack explains another unique feature: Instead of a solid block down the center, this model boasts a slightly fluted design, allowing for space and air on the top of the instrument but enough wood to ensure feedback doesn't start to creep in. The Jack Casady signature bass guitar also comes with an impedance selector, ranging from 50 ohms, 250 ohms to 500 ohms. Jack personally prefers the 50-ohm setting for its broad aspect, but the range allows musicians to tweak the output to their liking, ensuring that every player can find a tone that resonates with their style.

I just purchased the last one Sweetwater had. Can't wait to get it. Jack's the reason I started playing bass in 1969. Thank you Jack, for making my life better.

Jack isn't kidding when he says that these bass guitars "...blow the old Gibsons to smithereens." I got one and the fit and finish are flawless. The sounds that you can get are both versatile and unique in that you can get several good tones out of it. Some of them are much closer to sounding like an upright bass than any I have played previously. A great, great bass.

I agree, Gibson's QC is horrible at times. Epi's, especially this model, are a great value and do the job!

The movie "Bad Times at the El Royale" features a gold top version of this bass and in that setting, it looks crazy Gretsch/Epiphone vintage. Thumbs up.

Little Anna, this bass does cost $799. I just got mine about a month ago from zZounds, but they're the same price at all of the big music retailers. It comes with a gig bag, a nice strap, and a certificate of authenticity sign by Jack and Jim Rosenberg of Epiphone. It is one sweeeeet bass guitar!

If you're planning on getting the limited red one I wouldn't hang around as they discontinue them and the price jacks way up. If you want the gold one take your time :P
