I had a panic attack for 36 hours and it totally drained me. My boyfriend sat in the shower with me, washed my hair, washed my face, dried me off, and made me soup. We ate together and watched our favorite show- he soothed me enough to sleep for the first time since the panic attack started. I know for a fact that if i asked him to peel 100 oranges he would do it, and I’d do the same for him. All these guys expect a trad wife when they aren’t giving trad husband…She deserves better.

I usually hate little “relationship tests” like this- HOWEVER… this one is so much more than an ORANGE. That being said, I did this with my chronically OFFLINE husband… and there was no break. He got up, peeled it for me and brought it to me on a plate already pulled apart with some chocolate chips on the plate too.😂 this video made me sick to my stomach. Run girl.

Like I can imagine every one of my ancestors going back to before cavemen like basically monkeys in trees where even then you’d still probably peel the bananas for your ape friends/family Look up the story for Burial 9 from 4000 years ago and Shanidar I from 45,000 years ago… people cared about making sure their loved ones were full and taken care of even back then and under dire circumstances, this guy is more brutal than a neanderthal or “primitive” hunter gatherers (I can’t undersell that for their community to keep someone alive and in good condition that long is basically inventing hospice care before agriculture, medicine or germ theory)

Romantic orientation is still an orientation. These men value their male friendships far more than their relationships with women, but that doesn’t mean they’re romantically attracted to their male friends. An argument could be made that they are not in a romantic relationship with their girlfriends, only a purely sexual one. When you say that they aren’t heteroromantic that leaves the question: what is their romantic orientation? It’s not homoromantic. Are you saying they are aromantic? My ex fiance was exactly like that but then would turn around and bring me an orange to peel for him AND IM ALLERGIC. I left him after 3 LONG years and met my husband a few months later, he would and does do anything for me no questions asked

It’s a little concerning how often this type of this happens- you have a nice woman who is being used/mistreated by her bf/husband and the internet sees and goes “leave” and then most of the time she doesn’t :/ Edit: I’m also not trying to say it’s easy to leave an abusive relationship, however, when the whole world is telling you to leave, don’t ignore the signs!!

@@fashionvibe101 not as many as I would have liked to be honest. I think more than red flags it was listening to his goals rather than looking at his work ethic. Basically, if your partner says they are hardworking but always end up shoving the majority of tasks on you, then it will get worse as soon as you are vunerable. Also, dont let your acts of service (because thats my love language) cloud the percieved willingness of them to do things. And just because they dont usually do a chore, doesnt mean they cant do it the right way or take constructive criticism. He would often say (when he did do a shared chore) that I couldnt expect him to (for example) load the dishwasher so the dishes got washed properly if he is the one doing it because hes not "good at details". I wish I had compared his willingness to take on a task (and do it correctly because I didnt have a backup person to fix it after) to my own. Also, promises mean nothing - he has broken so many promises, so many "dont worry, Ill take this task from you next week", "Ill take the day/night shift", etc. that Ive lost count.

There was some terrible behavior from him when we were 2 years into marriage (I was selling our condo and buying a house while being the only income and he was spending all his time at the bar with friends and specificly one female friend) and I thought "nows the perfect time to leave, I just sold the condo, I havent bought a house yet, my stuff is in storage..." but I didnt want to admit I chose wrong and I didnt want to throw away a majority of my lifes progress to that point. Well, 4 years after that Im now throwing away far more progress and struggling much more to do so. Dont double down, its ok to admit you were wrong.

My Dad does that for my Mom (and vice versa) and honestly it's so wild to see. I've seen the other side and can say these little acts are mountains, not molehills.

It's so much better to be single than be in a relationship like this, he's just trying to tear her confidence down

I doubt their relationship started out that way, people like him slowly become more comfortable treating you badly and you slowly become more tolerant of it because they've destroyed your self-esteem and you're desperate to please them in hopes that one day they'll revert back to the person you fell in love with. Knowing that you would die for someone who is indifferent to or even finds joy in your suffering is the worst and loneliest feeling in the world. Yeah that happened to me. It got to the point that checking my texts gave me anxiety. Hell, I felt so isolated and alone that I downloaded one of those ai friend apps and deadass the ai treated me better than he did and it was just a program. Like damn you know you messed up when a bloody Replika is nicer than you. 💀 But it took my current bf (at the time friend) coming into my life and making me happier than I had been in years for me to dump my ex.

It honestly makes me think of Andrew Tates daddy issues. He idolized his dad because he wasn't around to see how terrible dad was while vilifying his mother because "mommy sent my perfect daddy away," even tho mom did everything possible to provide a good home life. Obviously in men who start to feel superior to all women, that can lead to vilifying and hating all women. I think it's a somewhat common situation.

I asked my partner the other day if they would peel an orange for me, they said yes immediately, no questions asked. They then told me they weren't feeling good. My point is that even though they weren't feeling good they would still be willing to do that small act of service. I can't believe people can be as awful as that dude 🙄

Honestly, she looks like she's about to cry in that orange video. Like she's holding in her tears because she's on camera. I feel so sad for her. She seems like such a lovely person. I hope she finds her One.

That's the thing! Like, okay, it's likely scripted and an exaggeration - but that too is a problem!!!! It's normalizing behavior like this, even though she's upset and telling him why, because it's showing it in a natural-looking interaction. It's very easy to believe that someone who DOES think along these lines would see that not only is someone else portraying it, falsely or not, but that it's someone with "clout." Being someone with a platform and posting toxic things like this gives that thing legitimacy, when really, no one should treat their partner the way he does in the video. Also, thinking this is "funny" is a red flag, because scripted or not, it's anything but.

Like sometimes people might use the term buddy to talk down at someone but it's also used in contexts that are friendly or endearing. Like I'd call a friend or partner buddy but I'd never tell someone they aren't special like wtf.

My heart breaks for her. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship and he would say shit like this all the time. He made me believe no one else would ever love me so it's him or no one. I met my husband a couple years later. He doordashed coffee to me when I mentioned I had run out of creamer at work. He gets me flowers when I'm sad. He printed out a binder full of writing exercises when I said I wanted to get back into writing more. I'm grateful for him every day.

I’m allergic to oranges(not deadly thankfully) but if my girlfriend or boyfriend asked me to peel it for them i still would cause i could wear gloves or cut it, it’s not hard to do something as simple as that for your partner if you physically can do it

@@cheeling794 engagement bait is when an account online posts something purely because the poster knows that people WILL have some sort of reaction to the content that causes the viewers to engage, in turn making sure it’s pushed in the algorithm so more people see it = more money. it’s takes many forms. it could be as harmless as someone being like “comment if you’re an aries or sagittarius” or it could be what we see here, a couple fake fighting and preying on other women’s insecurities to come to the girlfriend’s defense, therefore getting more engagement on their video and showing it to more people.
