The Entire Emperor Pilaf Arc | Dragon Ball
The Emperor Pilaf Arc in the Dragon Ball Manga marks the very first chapter of the entire series. Though we've gone through all the events and elements of the anime already, we can still come back to where it all started, and enjoy them in manga form! Dragon Ball takes an interesting spin on things compared to Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, including more adult themed jokes, and self awareness that we don't see much in the newer iterations of the anime anymore. We begin our journey being introduced to Goku and Bulma, two main characters who's paths crossed due to the legend of the "Dragon Balls", magical orbs that have been rumored to grant any one wish when all seven are gathered together. Goku coincidentally possesses the four star ball, a memento of his grandfather "Son Gohan", a deceased martial arts master.
Goku and Bulmas journey becomes quite an interesting one, as they encounter lifelong friends and enemies along the way, who all have a similar goal of having their wish granted by the Dragon God Shenron. But what challenges lie ahead? Who's wish will be granted by the Dragon Balls?

Pretty much how different Dragon Ball is compared to Dragon Ball Z. It's much more humorous and goofy which I enjoy. It's a shame Yamcha was thrown to the curb where in Dragon Ball he had more of an important role to play.

This is one of my favorite arcs from OG DB's manga run. It's comedy is well-written, the slower emotional moments are heart-warming and the action us well-drawn.

Never in Bulma's wildest dreams would she had seen that she just met her future daughter-in-law. Can't blame Trunks though.
The Pilaf arc is my favorite of the franchise. I honestly enjoyed this series most when it was just about fun, comic adventure.

I did watch through dragonball only one time so this is a nice refresher. so many iconic things happen in this arc, much more than I remember honestly!
The part about Goku sending a Rabbit to the moon made me chuckle as I was thinking about DBZA when Perfect Cell mentioned it to Future Trunks and Future Trunks thinking he made that up one..🤣 good videos tho! Keep it up for the other arcs

Despite me REALLY getting into dragon ball by the first tournament arc I kinda think this is a fun way to start the series 😂 the comedy & fun adventure also attracted me to checkout the series. I wonder what dragon ball daima will be like if it's going to bring back this style of story telling 🤔🤷♂️

You are posting scans of their manga and distributing their work on KZread. They would see this as a near equivalent to manga piracy. Those websites where people read illegal scams of manga. You may be able to get away with things by saying your retelling of the narrative is transformative in nature and therefore makes this “fair use” and *not* copyright infringement. You aren’t just reading the manga but giving a summary in your own original words. That may be enough. It may not. If your channel becomes significantly popular and these videos gain traction I would say it’s almost a certainty that Toei will attempt to copyright strike this. I don’t say this because I’m upset or anything. I love the video. I’m just saying you should be very careful and be ready. Educate yourself on fair use because you may need to prove this qualifies in the future. There is a reason that anime/manga channels never post the full pages/panels. They never just read it word for word. They *STILL* get smacked with copyright strikes often. Now they always tread carefully.

Right where it all begins. Very nice summary video. Shame it's the Viz translation, but that's alright. Something funny about Goku saying he's 14. He's not too far from the truth. If we're still taking DB Minus into account, he's 3 by the time he's sent to Earth, which was 10 years before his fateful meeting with Bulma. So he'd be maybe 13-14 by that time instead of 12 as he mentions later on. As canon stands, I'd chalk it up to not being too good at math.
