Quick Tip: If your fighting a defensive siege with multiple layers, put the musket units on the walls on the inner most layer (the walls give a reload bonus) and stretch them out to 1 man thick (this allows every man to fire). Then place the infantry/ melee units below them in front of the wall, enemy units will charge the infantry before climbing the wall.(Like on the first layer and then muskets on the wall above on the 2nd layer) - This allows the musket units to have a clear LoS preventing friendly fire - Allows them to shoot for longer as they don't get charged - Also makes your infantry more effective and allows them to win against clearly stronger units as the enemy units get a morale penalty as the muskets are constantly shooting them (Hope that helps) Also side note: Units on the upmost layer of settlement are unbreakable

Apollo doesn’t seem to know, but your units are unbreakable on the uppermost layer of the defense. Using this players can typically outperform the odds.

That first battle was legendary.

I am loving this lets play. It feels like you want to play this too compared to say some of your Bannerlord runs at least based on your voice and passion for this series. Just a tip about artillery. Generally if you see wooden guns they are not as dangerous as they look. They knock down men but do not kill that many. The danger is just if you garrison men on a wall and the wall is destroyed cause that causes tons of men to die who are nearby. Otherwise you do not have to worry about the damage they do nearly as much as you might think. If you see parrot guns or Armstrong guns though.. That is when you should be scared. You should get those as soon as you can as they are very powerful artillery.

Quick tip Apollo, if you are defending in a siege battle you can actually have your firearm units line the walls in a single line rather than two by simply holding right click on a wall and pushing your mouse up!

Maybe a tip: use one your generals to guard your region protecting it from potential invaders, meanwhile you send your main force to the north to destroy the clan up north. Once it collapses you can resend your forces to the south to retake lost fort. Also research into military early so you can unlock cannons

I love those series and the thing that you play multiple campaigns at the same time period. (Bannerlord and TW and other games you play) 🎉

That was a crazy victory at the start, outnumbered and outgunned but they still prevailed!

I was waiting for videos to accumulate on your channel, to see them all and this campaign is one of my favorites, although it is getting complicated. I think you should focus only on attacking the North and make sure to use double lines of infantry, to be able to defeat the swordsmen and cavalry charges faster (it is very dangerous that you only use a line of riflemen in Shogun 2, learn from the Battle of Culloden).

Love the uploads. I’ve never gotten more than a handful of turns into a grand campaign for fall of the samurai. The whole map usually just declares war on me and spams units.

you should spread the ranged troops on the wall. the one shooting is only the first line on the wall, (drag the cursor after clicking on the wall)

Hey PA just a few tips 1) wooden cannons are really bad because they cant move and they dont have explosive rounds so they can't really do much. They can however take out your own artillery really easily 2) in sieges if the enemy have a lot of guns, put all your guns at the top layer then spears below. Once all the enemy melee infantry are dead you can retreat your spears to the top and then just massacre the guns as they climb up 3) not sure if you did this already but you can keep like garrisons of 5 or 6 levies in each city to maintain public order 4) make sure you have a good navy otherwise in the later games the enemy will just keep landing in your territory so you need patrols 5) if you are going to be a republic then you shouldnt upgrade your police stations above magistrates and dont get any shogunate infantry 6) make sure to make your home privince a recruiting center because the extra accuracy from the gunsmith and a training camp will be great

if youre defending in a siege you can spread the guns on the wall by holding right click and push outwards from the wall. you will have more of them shooting at once

Quick tip to make your units run a hotkey( a faster Way to do things) is r. So if you Press R your units Will slow Down or run faster.

Apollo, when in firing line and you're suddenly getting charged, don't say that it's just a general/unit of some kind, act. Turn the guns beside the attacked unit around, so you can provide fire support for your troops! Don't leave them hanging in combat, because they're not trained for such a thing. You could get mass routes and that sort of stuff. Tips and tricks... just tips and tricks...

Awsome gameplay, if I may suggest that you make peace wherever you can. Southern factions don't seem interested in making peace, so try making peace with northern ones. They should be more prone to it, since you destroyed their armies.

Spread your musket infantry to as thin as possible to allow more of the unit to shoot at the same time and do more damage Hope this helps

Guys does anyone have any fixes for my and my friends co op on shogun 2 fall of the samurai we get stuck in like turn 30 to 40 its just a turn end freeze. And on my schreen i see that he has a turn but on his schreen it is my turn non of us can do anything like move upgrade ect. And it is consistand even if we set back the save or start a new campain the most we got to was 70 turns and the same problem.

Southern front is collapsing milord. Thats sad sometimes early campaign turn slugfest, but it is what it is. Keep the spirits up!🎉 But fr tho, maybe should consider vassalize new territories or weakend enemy to have us some breathing room and consolidate, even if they betray us, we still got buffer region and 50% of their income. Also sometimes weakend enemy won't take peace even if they have no troopsnis because they not see your force, just show up your army inside their territory, no need to be into the city is sometimes enough to make them reconsider the peace

He probably knows that. Mostly for apollo it's about the journey. Just remember doomed campaigns are about the friends you made along the way ( or something) Although I have seen one or two very skilled yt'ers hold and expand against huge numbers of enemies.
