The no permit no tax thing is not true. Where we live (rural), we do not have to have permits. Especially for out buildings. They come around every 2 years and reassess the property for taxes. If you added out building, it is added. Also if you have electricity and water it costs more on taxes..

fire dept. won't touch that tiny home due to where it's at and what it is, fire departments do "practice burns" to do just that, practice, practice doing rescues in complex buildings and homes navigating into rooms etc...the ideal structures will sometimes be used over and over again and set on fire again and again, the shed up in that remote spot on the hill where there is no room for equipment to get up there would not be a good burn subject to learn much by burning

I'm not so sure it's a "Subscriber ". I think whoever is doing it is close by, but they want to make Isaac think it's a " Subscriber ". Only someone who lives close by would know the ins and outs of permits for the area. Isaac has someone who has been sabotaging his efforts for a while now. He said he thought he knew who was behind the prior chaos. I'm thinking that person could also be behind this. This person is also probably behind the CPS call too. That's my thoughts. It's sick that some people get there kicks by stepping on someone else's dreams.

Isaac and Jaylena: here’s another situation you need to check into. My friends had a similar issue. The bank got word they had completely removed a 2nd home on the property. Evidently, the bank loaned for 2 homes, one was not finished, and evidently not permitted. They did not know and had moved elderly parents into the home. Made several changes to the home to make it better suit the parents needs, including hooking to utilities. Someone reported to building permit office, who followed up. They were told home had to be removed, as ordinance only allowed 1 home on property. They had to move out parents, tore down the home. The bank ended up foreclosing on loan, as the buyers broke bank contract. Evidently, you cannot legally remove structures or tear down structures without approval from bank. What this will create is a property with more owed than what the value of the property will be worth. I would talk to attorney, as this could end up even bigger issue since bank is involved.

Have had to deal with something similar. Bought an older house (from the late 40's) that had a garage on the side of the house that was converted into an extra bedroom for the house. Which is the ONLY reason I purchased that house. A 4 bedroom house is easier and generates more money for an income property than a 3. Apparently the neighbor had wanted to buy the house as well and called code enforcement to complain about the room. It didn't matter that the room had been in use for 30 years (according to the other neighbors), they made me gut it and convert it back to a garage because of the no permit situation. Frustrating.

A covering over the window on the door near your baby girl might help with Ember's motion sickness. Just an idea. I empathize with you guys because my son literally threw up everytime he went anywhere in the car. I had to cover the seats, the floor, and his carseat with plastic and multiple towels everytime we took him somewhere in the car. I also had to carry lots of baby wipes to clean him up, and 2 freshly clean outfits to re-dress him in. He stopped having motion sickness after he had surgery to have fluid drained from behind his eardrums, drainage tubes implanted, and his adenoids plus tonsils removed. He had lost most of his hearing and was reading lips before we caught the problem. He also had a bad asthmatic allergy in reaction to a common virus. The surgery reversed that, along with the hearing, his ear infections, and the motion sickness issue. My best wishes to you all.

Now have to wonder Isaac, was there another reason this property was put up for sale when it was? Did they have some idea, must have surely, that they were going to be in big trouble, held accountable for what they had done. And done totally unnoticed. Maybe had got some advice from someone, to get rid of it all. Get it off their hands. Many questions that will no doubt never have any answers. The whole thing just stinks of deceit, dishonesty and nastiness.🍀🍀🍀🍀💌

If your little miss has motion sickness/nausea, try making ginger snap cookies and giving her a couple half hour or so before a trip. The fresher the ingredients the better. You can put them on the dash of the car and are great a little warm. Used this for my Dad when he was going through chemo.

We had a spit up baby and he was taken off the bottle at 6 mos of age and I poured a tiny bit into his mouth from a little cup. A suggestion: Another thought is: not to take them out in the car until after they have eaten a meal an hour earlier. Then the food and beverage may be down far enough that the vehicle motion will not cause spit up to happen. Just trying to help since Ember doesn’t like her medicine and in the vehicle, I noticed she had her sippy cup so I thought that may be a bad idea at this time in her life. My little sister got car sick but we went out for Sunday drives after our large lunchtime dinner meal. We all got car sick if we tried to read in the car so we stopped doing that. Not criticizing. Just want to try to help offering suggestions that may help. Love you guys.❤❤❤

This is not right! That someone can buy property and be buried in debt from the previous owner and not even told before selling to you all about it! Whoever was the seller needs to be the one who pays for all of this, who sold it like this. Not to mention the labor, the grief, and costs to get rid of it all! Unbelievable! Please be careful. Also the last owner should take responsibility too. It was a deceptive sell. Anyone selling should know about permits and codes!

Just started watching this video and immediately was reminded of my first daughter's inability to be in the car. She would cry non stop, screaming so badly we'd have to pull over and stop to comfort her. We found the most miraculous solution!! We got a DVD player installed in our SUV and played Baby Einstein videos (she loved to watch them at home prior to this). The crying stopped as she was glued to these shows. It turned out as we learned many years later she had/has "Sensory Processing Disorder". All the noises and visuals from being on the road, other cars moving fast overwhelmed her senses. Imagine what we as adults experience being amplified by a thousand times!! Cars zooming by, all the different noises, it was a horrific experience for our baby until we found this simple solution. Just sharing in case you want to try it. You could probably start with an ipad and just hold it in front of her to test this theory. I'd start with playing the videos at home first so that she is eager to watch them in the car. Also, these videos are very educational and made for a baby's brain. Love to you all.

This is crazy. You purchased a property with the shop added in to the purchase price. You remove the shop potentially, it sounds like your lender did not do their due diligence to find out all of these things, so are you going to be liable for the full mortgage on the property? I know it upsets you but, I am glad you found out now instead of later. It is absolutely insane.

@@karamckaraton that is not true. Lenders often only care about your ability to pay. They also don't check the history of the property when doing appraisals. Unpermitted or open permitted structures are very common and if it was the banks job to check them, they wouldn't be common.

I agree with the commenter who suggested going to the local media and/or consumer advocacy organization. Sometimes bad press can make the monolithic bureaucracy choose to be a little bit flexible -- especially when they are also at least partly to blame. No reason this mess should all fall on your shoulders -- you need to consult with a Real Estate lawyer -- better to pay a lawyer something at this point and you'll likely come out ahead for it. Whether you end up demolishing the "structures" ( they're not tiny homes at the moment) or not, your costs should not be yours alone to bear. Other "permitting" issues that were not disclosed when you purchased the property also should fall back to the seller &/or realtor. Cheers!...from North Vancouver

I hate that this happened to you. I remember 20 years ago when we were selling our house. At the closing table the bank for the buyer wanted to see our permit for a deck we constructed ourselves in the backyard. At the time we constructed it the town said a permit was not required if it was 18" or less from ground level and not attached to the house. Because I didn't have that in writing, their attorney wanted to hold back $10,000 in escrow while the matter was researched. We had paid about $300 for the material cost of building that deck! I said absolutely not! My lawyer said, are you serious you want to walk away. I said yes, not a penny to be held. The other side ended up giving in and the house closed. These town codes have become ridiculous.
