The END of Family Channels: 8 Passengers

Ойын-сауық

Let's talk about what happened to 8 Passengers and why Ruby and Kevin Franke have suddenly disappeared from their channel. Is the lack of content something we should be happy about or is the alternative MUCH more scary...

I once knew a girl who literally wouldn’t send her children to public school and insisted on home schooling and wouldn’t let them interact other children their own age. They would say, “well they have their family that’s it” when they only saw their family on holidays. He pressured me into using drügs, gaining an addiction that I still struggle with today. Life was so unnecessarily rough bc my parents abandoned me. 🥺 Things finally worked out for me, have a loving husband & we have a child together. 🥰🙏🏻 When I first heard about what this fam does to their children, I legit cried! 😭 It's abuse in every sense of the word. Once the children are safe & away from their parents, I'm sure they'll spill all of what happened. Exactly. Psychology minor here, when Ruby said the wilderness camp was ran by psychologist and they approve of no beds; I knew immediately that wasn't true. Sleep is the most important thing our bodies need. Sleeping helps us refuel and reset; not being able to sleep comfortably (in a bed) can cause emotional and physical damage to our bodies.

I kind of hate that saying these days. Because it's like... feel good bs. It might just be my personal experience but nobody, who I know personally (I don't know you so I'm not saying you're like this) but they just say it to get like brownie points and then promptly forget about the problem that made them say it. I lost a small friend group because one of them seemed abusive toward their child, everyone said as much behind the person's back and kind of weakly nudged at it in their presence. Then one day she said to one of our mutual friends that she left her son, who was only 5, to forage for his own food for a weekend because he pissed her off and she needed a break. I can't confirm if that story was true because I heard it from a mutual who heard if from her and didn't hear it myself but that mutual gave a whole blurb about what she thought and capped it off with that statement. So I reported the mom and I guess something happened and the mom was complaining and I told her that she shouldn't be leaving her toddler basically defenseless. The friend who told me the story did not speak up and everyone criticized me for "trying to get her son taken away". I was never invited to hang out with them again but I would have passed if I was. Wow anyway that was a tangent that had nothing to do with you and was only triggered by your statement Sorry 😓

Lol take it from me, who was raised by a Ruby: Her oldest went to a school far away to get away from them, the son is mostl likely doing the same - so now Ruby is doubling down and getting stricter towards her younger children while they're still impressionable so they can be exactly who she wants. She's probably going to paint one of the oldest siblings out to be "the bad child" and turn the younger ones against them for not falling in line with her insanity. Edit: Some of you don't know how to think outside of the box but I'm clearly talking from exp. It may not exactly align like that in this context, but regardless of what is canon and whats not, we all know Ruby WISHES she were farther away.

There is a 50% chance their classmates will find their family channels and they will see their most embarrassing moments where it can possibly lead to bullying until they graduate high school. A child missing lunch which is one meal of the day is not going to die. Yes they will be hungry until their next meal but they will be ok. If a parent was working and couldn't leave their job I understand them not bringing their child food. But the fact that Ruby is a stay at home mom and has time too do that, and chose not too is concerning (especially if thishappens alot). Also in my opiniom a child who is in school should be taught how to pack their lunch and backpack but it is the parent's responsibility to check it to make sure that they have everything. Children can be independent little beings with proper oversight from their parent. Perhaps Ruby was trying the methods of natural consequences.

@@EmmazingGal - No, they are not going to die. But first of all, she is 6 - WAY too early to have the sole responsibility of managing her own school lunch. Second, actively hoping the nobody shares their food with your child so they are starving as much as possible in order to learn the lesson as harshly as possible, is a straight up abusive mentality. No wonder she is giving the gift of “love” to this same daughter for Christmas, she is clearly withholding it the rest of the year.

I’m dealing with cps right now. I got emergency placement of an 11 year old. But for his privacy that’s all I’ll say. After a few months cps was going to send him back but I still had concerns. The house was infested with roaches and bedbugs he was sleeping on a cot in the living room next to the women who had custody. I had to provide clothes shoes everything. Cps didn’t give me shit for money clothes toys food nithing. The response I got was as long as there is a pillow and blanket on the floor it’s ok. I filed for custody and received temporary custody we will go back at the end of august for permanent custody. I thought they had to have a bedroom but they don’t. CRAZY

The way chad behaves on all the vlogs tells me he is in a last resort trying to ruin them for her. "I cheated on a test, i don't have friends, I don't have a bed..." by saying this he knows it not only reflects bad on him, but also on her. She always reacts a bit flustered when he acts imperfect. He hopes if he continues doing this she stops filming him... which she unfortunatly doesnt.

These camps cause major trauma and the parents will truly never know how deep it can go

Did anyone stop to think why is my child using drugs?, and why is my kid so angry?. Kids aren’t born with these feelings and behaviors. It’s cause and effect, so instead of doing some investigating and talking to your kids you send them to complete strangers, in the woods, and you pay for it. That’s great

My parents raised me this same exact way. I would never do this type of parenting to my own kid. I was responsible for packing and remembering my lunch for school. If I forgot it I wouldn’t eat all day and I would get in trouble when I got home. I was only in like 2nd grade when this was happening. I feel like maybe by middle school this would be okay but no 6/7 year old is going to remember to pack and bring a lunch to school every single day. I also wasn’t allowed to have a phone until I graduated. Nowadays teens rely on phones to have friendships and keep friends during the summer break and everything. It was super hard not being able to see my friends out of school then having to find new friends every new school year. Some parenting is just too strict and once I graduated and went to college I sucked up as much freedom as I could.

I totally agree with a kid that young needing help packing a lunch sometimes. I was a dumb 5 year old sometimes. We got tiny milk cartons at school with our lunch but I couldn’t finish mine one day. So I decided to put it in my lunch kit to save it for later at home. Needless to say, it spilled all over my backpack. Little kids have little brains and they can’t remember stuff like that all the time 😂

Just putting this here since I worked in the mental health department in health insurance: Wilderness programs are NOT covered by health insurance and not recommended since there has been no credible data sources that show that these programs have any positive therapeutic impacts. Parents mostly send their kids to these programs because they don’t know how to handle them and the programs take them for any reasons (such as marijuana use, limited alcohol exposure **not abuse** etc.) it’s lazy parenting and creates HOSTILE relationships in family dynamics. They can’t control their oldest son and they don’t like that. He’ll leave their home and hopefully their lives ASAP

My husband was sent to many "wilderness camps" he says the only thing the counselors are there for is make sure the kids don't die. And they're pretty bad at that too. Many of them are abusive and take pleasure in harassing, tormenting, and pushing kids/teens to their limits. One camp, I think one specific officer, forced them to exercise naked at 3AM, the people and those places are Sick.
