She was probably just a good home cook and ended up doing her private chef gig for her friends and it ended up becoming successful, but she most likely didn't get any certifaction or health inspection oversight and probably just did it through social media. I actually knew of this disaster because of the drama related to it. This lady needs to literally be arrested because she's causing mass amounts of people to get ill from her product. Had she stayed as a private chef and stayed with that passion, she would've gotten viral that way. The further she explains this, the further she makes it worse for herself. Especially since she confessed to selling prototypes, and not understanding what the FDA does (which is weird since she was a private chef??). The reason why other sauces and condiments can be sold to masses is because of the preservatives used to make it shelf stable.. The fact people are still buying and say her excuses are valid SHOCKS me. Botulism and other food borne illnesses are a real thing and can cause DEATH if not treated.

Based on the ingredients, it looks like it's just a coleslaw base. Coleslaw bases usually consist of milk, lemon juice, sugar and/or honey, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper and whatever additional spices you wish to use. She probably is achieving the pink colour with the paprika considering it's rather high on the ingredients list. But I'd be exretememly surprised if she wasn't using artificial color on the earlier rendition of the sauce. She probably started acting cagey because it was driving up the popularity. It looks like she bought some condiment bottles herself online which is why it has a yellow cap as opposed to a custom pink cap to match the product and labeling. Leading me to believe this is not in mass production but most likely being made out of her home. She probably doesn't comprehend that she needs to have FDA approval prior to selling a food product which is why she is argumentative about her sauce. And yes, she'd probably go unnoticed by the FDA because of them being swamped. But now that she has so much of an online audience, she's probably garnered the attention of the FDA in which case she could get in serious trouble. They could give her a slap on the wrist and stop her from selling her sauce or they could make am example of her to dissuade other from following suit. I would NOT recommend anyone eating this sauce since it contains milk and an acid but no stabilising agent or preservative that I can see. The bulging is probably not from bacteria but in all liklihood heat. Bottles will bloat and potentially rupture when subjected to heat. The gas molecules spead up. Since there's no place for those molecules to go, they build up until it eventually bursts. I couldn't see if the bottles were sealed but even if they were (you can find at home heat presses) you need to super heat and remove air from the product in order to allow it to sit on a shelf at room temperature. I have serious concerns that the correct conditions may have not been met prior to shipping out these sauces and therefore strongly advise against purchasing this. Views should never come before your health and safety. And by you reviewing it, you are putting others at a potential risk if they watch your video and want to try it.

the amount of creators/commenters excusing her because “people make mistakes” is ASTOUNDING!! this isn’t just a mistake, especially when she’s arguing with people about the inconsistencies and not showing any remorse or acknowledgment. she has an ego, and anyone with an ego and can’t admit to faults should not be in an industry where food is being prepared. she could seriously harm someone - kill someone even with allergies or food poisoning (salmonella). she must of gotten her chef degree from a kellogg’s box if she wasn’t taught basic food prep around storage and temperatures. 🙄

The pink sauce lady couldn't even be bothered to ship the pink sauce with a shippaple ice packs which you can get on amazon for less than what she's asking for for the pink sauce itself. It has things like admitting you bought the sauce because of "free will", no bottle that has been opened will be refunded even if it's bad, you will not put up any false or negative photos/videos/comments/etc, and if you do any of that she'll sue you. You should not have to sign something like that for ... a condiment. This whole thing is insane.

Given she’s a scam artist, I wouldn’t trust “sold out” from her. She could easily be trying to create artificial scarcity by having it listed as “sold out” so when she sells a few more people feel like they’ll have to rush to get it or it’ll be gone (along with potential for views by eating it; dumb). The original colouring was clearly a marketing tactic. If it were that pale pink it is now it never would’ve gotten a second glance from people. So she is either knowledgeable, somewhat, in marketing or is working with someone who is.

Selling a product that contains milk that doesn't have preservatives that will make it shelf stable, labeling it as 'keep refrigerated' when they're not even being kept at the required temperature, not understanding what the FDA does and not going through the proper channels to actually register this product and test it before selling it, there are entirely too many red flags. This has gone from a simple trend and conspiracy to a truly scary situation and flat out health hazard like you said. I think that if she had gone through with FDA approval, used proper packaging and storage, and developed a recipe that is safe and transparent to the public, she truly would have had a huge success! Her food videos really do look good, but instead of being known for those, she will be remembered for this.

As a former caterer/chef watching this entire pink sauce controversy happen and her response to it was frustrating. She was/is so irresponsible in the production and sale of her product. She never got her products inspected by her local health department or followed the correct guidelines. I also high doubt she has ever been servsafe certified. However I am glad she has gotten a brand deal to help her go legit. It looks like all this has helped her but I just wish she went about it the right way to begin with. She has a brand deal with Dave's Gourmet Sauces.

I love how even the sauce itself is a metaphor for the whole situation Like at the start the sauce is bright and smooth, representing the hype and coolness of the pink sauce craze. And then it gets faded and runny, representing how the situation is deteriorating and falling apart. And the bottles swelling up and bursting represent all the backlash blowing up in her face. I just couldnt ignore those details.
