Well, I'd imagine that, regardless of it being the result of a normal bodily function or an injury caused by the sulfuric/volcanic environment... 😅 It all does "smell" the same 😂

Vader only kills you if you're incompetent,extremely annoying, actively trying to kill him or if it's necessary for his plans. He isn't going to murder a random trooper because of mild embarrassment.

That is a point of great storytelling. That this character has been built up in a way that the tension was significantly increased just for that reason.

I honestly never was worried about the trooper. He was just a stormtrooper, and Vader rarely hurt Stormtroopers. That, and he could read thoughts. He probably could read that the trooper was nervous and knew why he was leaning over(catching his breath).

A joke around bodily functions categorizes as 'slapstick comedy'. Well known jokes alike are fart and poop jokes. Mostly considered to be low brow comedy. But hey, no judgement here. Just the facts. The more you know... The fact that it's evil dictator DARTH VADER makes it even funnier because of his high status being undermined. We identify as and/or empathise with the stormtrooper, thus the tension of getting murdered if laughter is not contained. There are more layers but I won't bore you with it... In short: there's more to it than you'd think.

I thought he was going to try to cure Vader's hiccups by trying to scare him, and then the lightsaber would come out. ;)

Damn this is a beautiful vid on so many levels. Looks flawless, but the story! So many emotions - from FNG enjoying tunes - to freaking out - to relieved- to shitting his pants - to cunningly saving his ass - to breathing again. And Lord Vader - what a nightmare to have hiccups with those respiratory problems!

Imagine being trapped on an elevator with a Vader that is trying to hide his hiccup. Probably really hard with how painful that must be considering his injuries. Stormtrooper be shitting himself.

They can't see properly out of those holes, and can't hold their rifles properly because of the jaw bulges on the helmet. Green Berets would miss a lot if they had to work in that gear.

The answer to that question? Because it features believable and relatable situations. I'd imagine a lot of people in this comment section can relate to being in such a tense situation with their boss, knowing their job and livelihood (or life in this stormtrooper's case) are on the line and can't afford to screw up.

I know, right? So many of Disney's Star Wars products miss this kind of humanizing humor. Like I don't mind the serious stuff, but too much of it just makes characters feel so...lifeless. I mean, how many of us have been in a situation like this with our boss where our livelihood is on the line while in the same room as them?! Balance the serious stuff and high octane action with more believable situations like this that we can relate to, for god's sake!
