Good luck. I bought mine for $800 back 5 years ago and today they are around a couple grand. They are going to keep going up since they don't make them anymore and this machine was used on so many house, techno, acid, you name it, dance hit records.

Bought mine when it was released and it's still with me all these years. Glad to see love for this incredible drum machine, synth, and sampler.

MDUW is in fact still the king, I love mine and would never give it up. Glad to see your KZread channel gaining some traction, I remember you from the VSE days of the early to mid 2000s back when the synth community was so much smaller. Great demo of the MDUW and Good stuff as usual 💪🏽

Sean from Autechre I believe even said about MD: "It felt like they made a machine for us."

This was awesome. One trick I use all the time on my MD UW+ is the combo function+Extendend/classic to go back at the saved state. So you can do crazy things with all parameters and then recall the settings you previously saved. Love it

Yeah boiiii! Always wanted to try out a Machinedrum, one of the few Elektron devices I haven't used yet.

Monster beat, fucking hell. I really wish I had kept my Machinedrum. I was new to hardware at the time and didn’t take the time to really learn it outside of making simple beats. Now very comfortable with Elektron gear and prices are just through the roof on them.

I always felt that if someone brought this machine back in any form and added just a few modern sequencer tricks, it would be killer.

My dream is for them to make a follow up to this, 16 LFOs for whatever amount of tracks is insane. Closest thing to Max/MSP or Modular in a box. Using it with Octatrack as Midi control is awesome.

Even Elektron doesn't make a machine that touches it these days. I'd take all the legacy niggles to get the modern nicety of conditional trigs. World is definitely hurting for a monster drum brain again though.

i just sold my MK-1 non UW version yesterday to get a tanzbar 2 -- ive had the MD for a year and you're right it is just so deep. ill def end up getting the UW mk2 one day bc it is just so much fun to cntrol all and all the stuff you can do with it. it's hard to make the MD do something unmusical if that makes sense. just a beast of a machine. had it combined with a monomachine and that was an absolute shit show in the best way possible. love the vids thank you !

Time to update my MD to latest custom firmware and play with Comb filters. Sounds neat.

CTRL8P is king! One of the most important features of this machine

I love my MD. I was going to replace/supplement it w/ a Analog Rhtmn MK2 but decided instead to get a Fatso for processing the MD. For kick, I blend the TRX B2 with FM sine. I've always struggled with its snares for some reason. Probably need to 'blend' like I do w/ the kick.

The one thing I really miss on the newer electron machines is the slide track. I used this feature extensively in my time with the MD.

I had a MDmk2 UW+ with turbo midi and a rytm, it was dope. but i now just have syntakt and have more fun :)) something to be said for working faster vs. having such open ended options. all great machines

I want one of these so bad, but I just can’t justify paying what they go for. Closest I have is a Volca Drum lol. I have been eyeing the Erica x Sonic Potions LXR-02. It seems to be a great and unapologetically digital rhythm box, much like this one, however without the innate 12 bit charm.

Incredible fast and punchy beats! I have the Syntakt, but I am curious about this mythical machine that everyone love… so expensive by second hand. What are the differences between those 2 machines (Syntakt&Machinedrum) from the workflow/performance and sound perspective beyond the features? Keep doing great videos!

well... that's the question... machinedrum is 12 Bit and has a very distinct digital sound... Syntakt to me has a cleaner sound, better effects, is more HD/stereophonic, is more adaptive, has a better bass, kicks, micro-timing, it combines it all with analogue... but it will never sound as the crazy and ultra-digital timeless MD... , it will not be as crunchy as MD 😅... but i'd possibly trade Analog Rytm and Cycles for the Syntakt 😅 even-though I would miss the pressure pads... gee... too many good Elektron Machines!

u can press function and then classic/extended to skip back to the last saved state so u don't have to go in the menu :) nice mess btw :D

I'm very tempted to sell mine now that it's 1k to 1.5k more than I paid for it. It would pay for a Soma Pulsar-23 and cover half the cost of a used Osmose.. Machinedrum is crazy good but just not good enough to match that.

I'll never sell this piece of gear no matter how worse time gets. Still lots of capabilities to explore.

Machinedrum Sps1 MK2 user here :) What firmware you running? First time I'm hearing about those newFX machines, comb filter, etc... I also love the use of the compressor as an extra raw distortion ;) Massive stuff as usual. Big thanks for sharing. Love the malefic laught is heard sometimes along the video too, classic! Looking forward to see you grabbing an analogFour and also a korg waveState and do some videos. What an amazing demo man, definitely that may put you into a situation to think about maybe just doing a whole live performance only using that instead of the rytm and the modular?

It is annoying. It seems that Elektron intentionally limit the features on their boxes these days, so that you have to buy more of them :) This old box o' tricks (and the MnM) was too powerful! They had to tame it down a bit :D

I could kick myself for not picking one up when they were clearing out the inventory for like 650 bucks. Now that I've been shopping for one, the assholes on Reverb are trying to sell them for 2k-3k, which is bonkers and out of reach. If I could find one (MKII) in excellent condition for 1200, i would buy it
