sure would like to see what modification you had to do with the locking mechanism...how did you extend it? do you have the exact parts needed that you can link? I just e-mailed linex to see if I can get it done at my local shop! Thanks for the great vid.

The locking mechanism... I just used a stainless steel drinking straw from the kitchen, cut to length with a few notches cut in it and a longer screw. 👍

I think that’s great if your a hard core basher and like to push your rig to it’s limits and beyond but me I like to keep my Redcat dukono on all four’s I’ve learned my lesson from landing from a jump too hard and breaking a servo and flipped it once got a few minor scratches but scratches are to be expected I would use the bed liner on the bottom of the chassis like on the skid plate of my trx4 and rocker panels etc just to bulletproof the bottom

This is a basher body. I have a shelf queen body as well. Good servos are hard to kill. I find metal case, metal gear servos from bang good worth every penny. Never had one die! This on the other hand is a $1,200 XMAXX! It's a basher not a $250 fun toy like the dukono, which I also have and don't bash like you because they break just like you stated. I'd advise not putting lineX on your TRX chassis. It's a bit grippy and may prevent you from crawling when scraping the chassis over obstacles. I won't be putting it on my TRX or my custom Capra anytime soon for that reason.

@@jaredharris1970 It's a fun truck. I've honestly dumped way too much into mine to where I could have just bought a Traxxas Maxx with some killer upgrades or just spent a few hundred more for a second xmaxx, but it's fun as hell either way! 😂

@@brookekathryn1980 back in the day my first rc was a tyco turbo hopper I saved up for that all winter to get it for summer then I moved on to a tamiya black foot then a clod buster once my skills improved then once I got out of high school I had no time for RC’s I got back into the game 30 something years later and did not realize how much RC’s cost today so the dukono was my first rc in that many years I thought not a bad price since it comes assembled and with everything I need and 3 years later it’s still around except for a few minor scratches and scrapes and a new servo it looks like I got it yesterday lol I don’t have a track in my town so the only dirt it’s seen is a construction site or baseball diamond near house or the street and sidewalk and grass in front of the house lol cause after every run In dirt I take wheels off brush between threads and wipe off body lol right now it’s a shelf queen till I get the time to mess around with it again come up with my own ideas lol my dream truck is the trx 6 my pockets aren’t deep enough to get that yet lol I keep checking eBay for a good deal on a used one that’s been lightly used so I don’t have to tear it down and replace 50% of the parts

@@jaredharris1970 Back in the day I had a tyco traxx and a rebound. Saved up and bought a Traxxas bandit then waited to purchase a clod buster as well. Ended up not getting a clod buster because the T-maxx was released that day and I ended up purchasing serial number 7 T-maxx a week later. Sold everything in college to survive other than my old Traxxas Villain IV boat which was at my grandparents house 1,400 miles away. Years later I went back to my roots of flying RC planes, helicopters, hovercrafts and racing RC boats like I used to do with my uncle's and grandfather. I racked up quite the hangar over the years. Got into drones and started flying for the state and really just finally got back into cars and trucks when the XMAXX 8s was released. After that purchase I rekindled my joy of cars, trucks and now I also love my crawlers. I have a garage to rival Kevin Talbot at this point so I get it! 😂 I've got a few tracks around my house

Nice nice looks good, Probably drives better with a little bit of top weight who knows maybe balanced it out lol

I think if I spend any more time in the air with this thing then I'm gonna have to renew my FAA license. She's been on here lid sliding on asphalt and landing Kevin talbot style many times on its lid more time than I can count. She's finally got a few scratches, but that it! 😂 Anything inside outside or both will help. The reality is the body will likely just crack on the outside and the line x will just hold it together inside if you just spray the inside...

Would just spraying the underside be enough to add strength without sacrificing the outside look?

That would be fine if this body weren't for bashing. I'd bet it would look just like a normal body with a strong dirty trick under it's shell! This body is made for sliding 100'+ on cheese grater like surfaces and taking a bashing on big rocks so it's sprayed on both sides to make it stronger than anything you can throw at it, but you could definitely just do the underneath! It would beat the hell out of shoe goo and drywall tape! 👍

If you're going to do decals I would only line x the inside. Absolutely nothing wants to stick to Line-X... Which is kind of the point... Lol

@@fcsthememe7987 it could. It's going to be a pain in the butt to remove masking once the line x is applied. It's next to impossible to cut, crack or scratch! Worth a shot I suppose... Just be ready in case it doesn't work...

Spray those components with WD 40! It will soften them so they aren't so brittle and will flex, but yes. Many can be sprayed with line x.

Do you know if it needs to be sanded before application? And did they cover the holes for the screws?

I'm at five years now. Finally have some scratches and the crack in the back has grown about 1.2mm. other than that it still looks the same and not much has changed!

I got my skydio 2. I try to get it to track my x maxx. But it looses it after 5 seconds. Ive tried the beacon but its just following the location of it and act werid. How did you get your skydio 2 to track your x maxx

1.) Mount the beacon on the front shock mount away from the electronics reducting radio frequency interference. 2.) Make sure you have good GPS and a solid transmission signal. 3.) realize that the X-Max is capable of 54 (87 kmh) mph right out of the box and the skydio only flies around 36 mph (58 kmh). Keep the speed at about half throttle at top speed and ease into the throttle during initial accelerations. Unless GPS is properly locked. 4.) Take your deck height off the standard 8 ft (2.4 m) and keep your skydio low. Keep your skydio low and close in range before extending the distance and accelerating to top speeds or you will loose it immediately! Hope this helps!

Been there done that, even mentioned it in the video! I used to go through 2-3 bodies a year with show goo. It's been 3 years now and this linex bash body is still going strong! Line x over shoe goo any day! Cheaper too!

@@newamericatowguy3633 I just took the body into Lowe's and found a set of screws along with rubber backed washers that worked. I opted for stainless steel so they have less of a chance for rusting. As for the body clip, I used a stainless steel drinking straw cut to length but any aluminum tube that's the right size will work. Just notch it top and bottom to fit around the plastic and drop a longer screw. @@minekaiju77 only one superficial scratch on the lid from sending it full throttle and having it land upside down on asphalt and skitting until she stopped. Otherwise haven't had an issue with it at all. just learn the other day it cleans up super easy with a quick spray of WD-40 and the shower! 😂 Might have gotten a little muddy on its full send run the other day 😂
