Great video, thank you Matt. Funny it popped up in my recommended videos, actually installed same system in my wife’s Rubicon (named Wispr), yesterday.

That grommet effort hit home hard for me

Co2 is hard to beat.

My dual is in back but I like the ease and shorter hoses for under the seat mount. I would guess you could also deflate all four at once using a valve & gauge off the tee manifold or at the purge???

I have a 4 way air hose and a dual arb compressor mounted in my bed. No doors need to be opened, no loss of legroom under the seat, and no loud compressor inside the cab. Also works well with my CO2 bottle and provides usb/12v dc outlets in the bed.

I still like my power tank, but that is a nice convenient 4-way system for the twin 👌

Good video, thanks for doing. Two things I took away from this video. 1. I understand why y'all are out overlanding all the time. 2. I see why you want to sell your house. Common denominator the screaming kids.

Some people act like the compressors sound will make you go deaf. 😆 imagine these same people having to get in the mud on a trail.....

It's ok I guess. I prefer the American Adventure Labs ARB dual compressor mount that goes in the storage cubby under the cargo floor in the rear of the JL. Can also mount my Redarc BCDC1225D in there as well.

I’m happy to finally see a good install video on that system. I assume you can do that in a gladiator also. You could also make a accessory hose to air up other stuff like toys or trailer tires.

My Kraken finally showed up yesterday. I’m doing the install today. They’ve been selling out every time they go back on sale. It only took me a few months to get my order in. lol I like sharing your videos with the both of you in them with my Wife. Your content is really entertaining and informative. Plus, I appreciate that you guys don’t use Click Bate to get views like the other couple that shares Overland Videos.

Given that your smittybuilt is old and worn, i would recommend napa dual pump that everyone is buying up. Those things are insanity. I use mine for motorhome and my gladiator.

Yeah, the Kraken and ARB is a lot faster but I don't have $1000 laying on my floor waiting to be spent so I need to stick with my Viair and one tire at a time for now... unless you can get me a job so I can afford two Jeeps and an awesome travel trailer, and super awesome air up tools.... :D :D :D

Are there any good off road trails near Eureka Springs

Love it, currently they are on back order but I have a set pre-ordered and they say they should ship in 3 weeks. Do you know if you could possibly run the wires through the dash instead of the floor? I’m worried water will get inside the cab wiring it like this. Your thoughts….

Matt have you noticed when using a 4way inflate that rigs like sully don’t exactly equalize pressure because the weight in the back ? That was my experience in our JT, not as bad in the 4R but also the Tacoma. I’m pretty sure it’s because the weight of the gear push the air to the front tires and keeps it coming into the rear.

Pressure will be equalized, volume won’t be. This is typically why tire manufacturers recommend more pressure with more load. . You can also disconnect the front and fill the back to higher pressure.

I'd be curious to see which system is better, the kraken or the up and down system.

So since ya'll go through a lot of water crossings, are you going to relocate the arb air filters?

I’ve been looking for LED lights and I bought some from Extreme Terrain. Long story short their customer service and products were awful and I ended up sending everything back within a couple days. Maybe it’s just bad luck but that’s how it was with them. Where do you y’all recommend buying lights?

The only problem with this system is the compressor is useless for anything else unless you do modifications to there system as this system does not pressurize. It continually pumps unless the hoses are plugged in or you have plugs for the quick connects which they only supply you with one. So don’t plan on using your compressor for air lockers or any other air needed unless you re plum the system. I spoke with them and they admitted that issue and were helpful with giving me a place to buy the product I needed to modify. I needed air lockers which I know run with a small air tank and I now can pressurize my water tank also. But you still have to plug both quick connections on both side of vehicle in order for compressor to pressurize. Kind of a pain but I keep the plugs on a small chain on each side for quick use

What radio antenna did you replace the factory antenna with? Does it work as well as factory? Mine bent with the first carwash I drove through.

On the JL? I have the bullet antenna that I purchased on Amazon. It doesn’t work as well as the stock antenna but I hate that look. I usually use Spotify or XM

Curious why you don’t just use a CO2? I use the same type of hose system setup. And fill all 4 of my 37” from 20lb in about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Not counting hookup.

Because they are big, take up space, and have to be refilled and if you run out on a trip it's a royal pain to track down a place to fill them up. Everyone I know that runs C02 has an air compressor as a backup so what's the point?

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures fair enough, you make very valid points. I have a 20lb tank I have mounted in the rear of my Bronco. Some other advantages is runs air tools, and can pop tires back on the rims. My 20lb tank lasts me about 30 days worth of of day trips. Or about 4 weeks overlanding. On average. Assuming no major incidents. Now at home I have a 100lb tank and refill my own tanks from that. Then I call a local company and they exchange my 100lb tank. I do carry a portable air compressor as well, but only for emergencies. I have yet to use it in the last 5 years. I will admit co2 isn’t for everyone. However the 5lb tanks are small and I carry one of those in my family sedan as well. They do provide benefits you don’t get from air compressors.

Do you lose the ability to move the passenger seat all the way back? I’m 6’5 so I need to make sure I’m not buying anything that reduces leg space! Thank you!

Yes. It doesn't hinder the seat moving at all.

Cara has Trail Deflators and I used my Speedflate

A co2 tank and monster valves is much quicker.

Yep it's great until you run out of CO2 and need to carry an air compressor as a backup and it takes up too much space.

Looking at getting this. Have you had any issues with heat on the hoses or under the seat itself from the compressor?
