Worst Day in the Owyhees! Things went from bad to worse.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Owyhee Canyonlands is an incredible and diverse place for outdoor adventures with epic camp sites, off road trails, and hiking opportunities. This day started with great expectation but ended as one of the worst trail days we've had.

Please note - since this video was released the water ford at 3 Forks where Danielle crossed and Cara and I turned around is no longer a legal road and water crossing. Please research all routes before venturing out to remote areas.

I’m a Tacoma owner and a huge Toyota gal… I’m on your channel every week cause I’m here for not only the adventure, but your personalities. You guys help feed my adventure while I’m working from home and waiting for my next chance to get out and explore. Keep doing what y’all do. People only complain and criticize because there’s some insecurity and jealousy there. Y’all guys rock! And let me know if y’all ever want a crawfish étouffée cooked out in the Ozarks, I’m game.

We love your content! So family friendly, epic adventures, amazing off roading (most of the time), and wow...this episode was incredible! So many lessons, the reunion between you guys and Danielle brought a tear to our eyes. Her climb (by herself) out of that river was incredible. So glad you had the drone for us to watch (hurray to Danielle!). You document real life and we love it! Keep doing what you do!!

Following and Patreon Member because I love watching all of the adventures and beautiful places y'all go. You and Cara inspire us to work toward planning for our future adventures! "Adventure" is a very broad term, but to me can mean any form of exploration and activity. So you guys keep on doing just exactly what you are doing, and let the haters hate. You have 82K subscribers for a reason!

Hey Matt, Cara, and Danielle don't be down on yourselves. you looked at the obstacles in front of you and made a decision. Danielle showed amazing strength in tackling that hill climb solo, and he knowledge showed through with the cribbing of the tires. Cara understanding that preservation of your vehicle and trailer showed great knowledge. Ladies this is going to help in your upcoming rally. Matt great use of the drone to ensure Danielle's safety. This is why i love this channel.

Each one of us watch your channel for our own reasons. Mine is to enjoy travels and learn from your experiences so that I can enrich my own. Keep up the good work. I've noticed on KZread, Facebook, etc. that besides all the great people you meet there in the JEEP, offroad, overlanding community are a preponderance of immature, smug, Knuckleheads. Just recognize them for who they are and keep providing the outstanding content.

I watch you channel because you travel and I myself have a minivan camper and I am probably older than you (58) but traveling is what interests me. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of folks who do what you do, where you do it, with similar (or the same) rigs. Many even have KZread channels. But none of those folks are you folks. You folks are why we are here. Your personalities, experiences, stories, and the way you present all of the above. Is there stuff I'd change? Sure. But it's not my channel. I love the hiking. I bought my 1st Jeep, 21 JLUR, in Feb. My health has diminished and I need a kidney transplant so I currently can't travel like you guys you do. My desire is to buy an offroad trailer and Overland the country once released to do so post transplant. I have been watching your, Brad's, and a couple of other Overlanding KZread channels to learn and take note of places I desire to go when I am able to do so. I will definitely base camp. I will not have a deadline. No desire to rush rush rush. Early retiree here so fortunatley I will be able to take my time on any trip and that is why i love seeing the hiking added to your videos. I don't desire to spend all my time in the Jeep even though I LOVE MY JEEP. I often say to myself while watching all the trips that I will stop and smell the roses...aka hike etc, taking time to enjoy the land with my feet on the ground, NOT just riding. I want to see more hiking! Love it! The mean comments are to simply be ignored. Some people will always be miserable and love to spread their misery. One judge......☝️ ignore the negative feedback. ❤✌️

A quick search indicates Grasshoppers and Mormon Crickets have been at record levels for the last 2-3 years to a point where state officials are calling it an economically damaging plague. They are BOTH native to the area, but in 2021 they suffered the worst outbreak in 50 years. They have been very damaging to both crops and forage, so farmers have been hard hit by them. drive through with the widest tires you can get... preferably on a dually so you can squish more of them :)

That being said, the quality of the content and your personality has kept me coming back, almost daily now, to watch your videos. I enjoy the overlanding content for the scenery that I will never see. I'm from Canada, Ontario. Growing up, my dad built Bush buggies. VW bugs shortened by 3ft. These things would go anywhere. In the winter, he would put chains on the rear tires and skis mounted to the front tires. Alot of fun. These videos remind me of the many fun experiences we had and friendships that were developed. Don't worry about the haters. You all put out great content A good question would be how many viewers watch, but haven't had the experiences of overlanding?

I watch because I love everything you're doing. I really enjoy seeing all the different places you go, all the different rigs that go out on the trails, and what different equipment everyone has that suits their specific needs. I learn a lot from watching, and that is something that is important to me. I've learned about new places to visit in my vehicle, and where I can get out and hike when I need to stretch out my legs. Learning about new gear that comes out and their price is something that is valuable knowledge for everyone, and you do that very well. IDC about what a person drives, I care about if that person is having fun and sharing their experiences so others can do the same someday. Please, never change how y'all do things. We who enjoy what you do, appreciate you and will always be watching.

I just finished this route last week. There were warning signs for slippery roads due to the amount of crushed crickets. Daniel has a big (set) crossing that river...I chickened out (being solo). I did go to the hot spring on the other side via the long route but it too was covered in crickets. The hot spring was neat but the water was only in the mid 80s, so not very hot and the ingress/egress from the pool was really sketchy. Really enjoy your videos...no matter what you drive. Be safe out there and note to self...avoid southern OR in July. 🦗🦗🦗

PS I have spent years in Montana because I was a teacher and had the summers off. But since I’ve discovered Utah, I’m just blown away by it and absolutely love it.. I really like the way you appreciate all the beauty that’s around you. That’s the way I am. The limestone rock formations are unbelievable and every time I go around the corner, I am in awe of what nature has done. There have been times that I was overcome by emotions by what I was seeing. My wife and I are new to overlanding and trying to figure it out. This is our favorite channel by far and we subscribe to quite a few. The camera work is the best. We are learning a lot from this channel and really like the host. Please keep the videos coming.

People are jealous. People call KZreadrs sellouts. Brad has a good relationship with Jeep and gets the opportunity to visit a warehouse and proving grounds. Good for him. If he makes some money with his content...good for him. It's a lot of work and monetizing on it doesn't seem unreasonable. The haters represent probably less than 1%. Do what you do. I hope Brad does what he does. You do you. They can start their own channel.

This was a great video. I know it was rough going through it but it makes for good content. Danielle looked like a bad ass stacking those rocks and getting up that hill.

Dude! I really love what you guys Do. My humble opinion is that for me it is all about the adventure, the land, the discovery of all kind of new things and also all the overland goodies..😊. You guys have a wolrd of land to discover. I live in a tiny Island. We don't have the playground you guys have and either the awesome dirt roads to explore. Oohh, and btw I'm a Land Rover enthusiasts but still is all about the experiece. You only live once. Gracias por los videos. Desde 🇵🇷. Puerto Rico.😉

I really like your channel not because of the rig you drive but the places you go and the views that you share with us plus the time that you share with us as well. You really don’t have to do this but you want to share what you have explored which to me is so cool and awesome and of course EPIC!

A few comments. We watch your channel because of you two, not what you drive. Second, we have an adventure van, Tacoma with Alu-Cab, and an offroad trailer. In my opinion, this is the perfect adventure trifecta. Do what works for you guys, Sean & Dawn will still be watching.

Those locust-looking critters are called "Mormon Crickets". they are a seasonal norm in the Owyhees. At times you will drive around a corner on a dirt road and it will look like a black flood pouring across the road. They are very short lived. You only see them for a few weeks in May or June and then they disappear until the next year..

Honest answer: your overlanding in a Gladiator is what brought me to your channel. I probably would not have stayed long enough to be invested in you as people if you had a van. There’s no denying that the Gladiator life is far cooler, interesting and marketable than the trendy Sprinter van life. (I don’t mean that as a dog to van people)

I am a diehard 4 runner fan and i love jeeps too. I dont watch your videos based on what you drive or how you travel. you could wheel a lifted maverick, hike a trail or mountain bike it and ill still watch. I watch your videos for the gear reviews, installs, the adventure, the story telling, the epic veiws that i cant see where i live, seeing the camp set up, the camaraderie and the list goes on. Keep up the amazing adventure called life and we will keep watching.

I was attracted to your channel initially because you run a JT and I was looking for ideas for my build. I continue to watch because you create great content and - MOST IMPORTANTLY - because you and Cara continue to inspire us both to adventure and to work toward improving ourselves. I don't understand why some folks say such hurtful things.... if they don't like the content they have the option to not watch. In truth I have posted some comments that were not a resounding endorsement, but I don't believe I've ever been mean about it.

When I first came across your channel I had only known the Missouri Ozarks and National Riverways so you're videos were a way for me to learn about the southern Ozarks. What's kept us around is your and Cara's personalities which is seemingly a match of mine and my wife's personalities. Sometimes we feel like if we all had ever met it's likely we could become good friends if that makes any sense. Watching you channel progress and the refinements you've made to your craft has been amazing to witness and inspiring as well. Even if you went awol and got a Nissan, we'd still watch!
