THE EASIEST FIXES ON A BMW E36 3-SERIES TOURING 328i | EPISODE #4

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We resume work on the BMW E36 328i Manual Touring, which I bought on Ebay back in July 2023. The clutch finally died in August 2023 and we pick up here in September - when we worked quite a bit on the car.
Whilst formulating a plan to get "Hero" moving again, we finally started some actual work in getting this epic old Beemer back into shape. We began with the easiest fixes any proud owner of these fantastic cars can do from the comfort of their driveway or English country garden. In our humble opinion, these cosmetic fixes deliver a real bang for their buck. Judge for yourself. Here's what we got up to start the restoration process of this BMW belter.
00:00 - Pre-titles and Intro
01:51 - Interior inspection
04:34 - Towing it with an old Freelander
05:35 - Plan of action and 'To Do list'
06:20 - Giving "Hero" a wash and a bath
07:43 - Replacing worn badges
09:47 - Replacing MOT advisory number plate
10:30 - Reaffixing door trim part
[Puerile childish interlude - viewer discretion advised - headphones recommended]
12:31 - Replacing a common fail point on the E36, grubby cracked windscreen cowls
13:59 - Taking literally ages ya to work out how to change light bulb
14:27 - Test fitting the sexiest wheels on the planet - BMW Style 32s - we will run these eventually
14:40 - Outro
So three questions:
1) Can you tow a car with your mother's washing line?
2) What is best practice when using a Stanley organiser?
3) Exactly how ludicrously expensive are genuine BMW badges?
Hope you enjoy it son!

See you soon for Episode 5, where we continue to apply lipstick to this rather adorable little piggy.

That's only 124K miles, plenty of life in that car. If you like autos, go for it, you can always fit a manual later on. I prefer manuals personally, but these are getting so rare you should snap it up. Loving the Touring so far, it's a real joy to drive, zero regrets about getting it - in fact, life without a Touring is hard to contemplate. The extra load space is useful, last week I picked up some new wheels and tyres.
