The Earthquake changed these beaches | Fulltime travel family

This week we check out a couple of quiet locations that were massively impacted the the Kaikoura Earth quake in 2016.
Lots of sea level rise, and change of landscape.
Marfells beach is a DOC camp ground and Ward Beach is on private property. The owners just ask for a Donation to stay on their land.
We found some seals, and very rough seas and the kids nearly get blown off a hill, cause it was so windy. Lots of fun had, but we are really looking forward to showing you our next stop in Kaikoura.

I'm so pleased I came across your channel - I'm binge watching your videos and loving them. Gosh, that wind at Ward Beach was next level! Love that the kids decorated a rock each, such a cool idea for campers to leave a little treasure behind.

Oh hey, yes welcome, glad your enjoying the videos. Yea I don't think we've had wind like it since being in the south island, it was very windy there. So Glad we could paint some rocks, that was thanks to our friend Garth who brought the stuff we needed for that.

Yea it's been nice to be in mostly sunshine... the North island where we normally live has been hammered by storm after storm currently a hurricane 🌀 making its way to New Zealand to yet again drop loads of rain.

Nice one, didn't get the best of weather for Ward beach, but it is a great rugged beauty bit of coastline regardless. One of our go to overnight trips out of Blenheim. I think it's also the only place we've baked scones in the caravan too. Still plenty of Marlborough to see on the way back north, and we look forward to following the action and adding to our list of places to stay further south. Glad we got the opportunity to spend a couple of weekends camping with you guys.

The annoying thing is we never travel with water if we don't have to a few times now like whites bay we've been 200kg heavier to find there is perfectly fine water and taps there
