The DUST Files "Military" | DUST

Фильм және анимация

In the fight against extinction, it’s all hands on deck. Watch war machines, mercenaries, and vampires who’ll do whatever it takes to defend their own in our anthology, "Military".
"Military" Features:
"E-X-T" by Adrian Bobb
200 years after humanity has abandoned the real world for a digital one, the system's most talented security agent is forced out of retirement to recruit and lead a team of talented warriors to eliminate a threat from a world no one has seen for centuries. The real world. Starring Cara Gee (The Expanse)
"Ikarus" by Shaun Escayg
After her brother is fatally wounded, a naïve but ambitious scavenger, must learn to shoot down a futuristic military drone while avoiding a vicious group of hunters, in order to obtain life saving antibiotics before her brother succumbs to infection.
"Ripple Effect" by Hannah Bang and Margo E. Sawaya
In a not so distant future- a coalition of the old earth’s nations have sought and claimed the discovery of a new planet “Gaia” as the human race’s last hope for survival. However, when the human settlements rolled in, what awaited them was neither discovery nor pioneering but colonization and war against the planet’s original inhabitants. With an increasingly militaristic government that demands the settlers’ sacrifice for the good of all, one family is torn apart when the eldest daughter, Ara, questions who the real bad guys are. At a time where mass think seems to be the safest option, Ripple Effect asks us if we’re brave enough to go against the grain, and at what cost?
"Six" by L. Gustavo Cooper
A young female vampire is caught by a clandestine government organization tasked with eliminating vampires and is made an offer she can't refuse: join them and help hunt down her own kind or be eliminated.

Cara Gee is such a presence whenever she is on the screen, not to take away anything from the actors she has worked with, but everyone else in the scene has to either work at that level or they fade into the background. She has a great career ahead of her and I can't wait for more.

I love this girl, I can see her growing as an artist so much and delivering some very memorable and unforgettable roles in the future. Every time I see her, either a new episode or a different project altogether it’s palpable how much better, how much more substance she’s able to extract, or bring new colors to her work. Mark my words.

I liked the DUST allowed the credits to run in full screen on the first 3 shorts. Perhaps you could do that on all of the shorts in the future. Aside from that, those were great films. Enjoyed watching Ikarus again. Ms. Chung's accent in Ikarus is SO cool!

  • @ringsaphire

In all of your known 300 years of history, you mean? (I hope). I'm pretty sure a lot of statements from a lot of historical figures are more widely known (and more universal) than this anecdotic self centered quote. It may have been rad the day he said it for thoses who heard it. Now it's become antiquated and irrelevant, coming from a more simple and optimistic time when he didn't see his country making enemies left and right, betray their allies, commit mass murder, war crimes and promote dictatorships worldwide in the name of profit and global domination. Give enough people enough reasons to take you down and you will go down someday (not because they will destroy you as some might and have tried, but worse, just because they will simply turn their back on you); No empire is eternal, they all crumble, either from their own overinflated egos or from their wannabe replacement.

Ohh. I wish they would make longer movies. And not ones that skip movie to movie. I hope they make a part 2 of the laboratory conditions. Some of these are good but the endings and jumping around gets old kinda fast. Feels like they just took 1 part out of the middle of a real movie and that's it.

@@DrachenGothik666Being in a very tight budget. Being in limited roles in minor roles in most movies for Dust. I'm sure that they're doing that in order to do it for their limited options. And having so few opportunities to advance their careers. Having so limited resources, manpower, the financial support to support those types of episodes of mini-series versions like these. It's no wonder that there's a thin line between being in a actual major role, and just merely being in the background. Or being in an alternate role in the same series. Or episodes. Nobody really knows how, when, where, or why these movies are made for Dust. It's just the way it is.
