We run some of the biggest sawmills in the Appalachian mountains in ky, and not to mention cut some of the biggest trees!!.. I started cutting trees when I was 6 years old, we try not to make a career of cutting trees in one day!...you boys be careful and never stand in front of where you got carried away!! on your first notch!!.. I've known several people in my lifetime that have gotten killed by doing the exact same thing...

That beautiful tree was worth more than the house.

The sad part is that the tree had smarter people around it when it was young but as the many years have passed the people have gotten, well let’s just say not very smart. Such a shame. Hard to hold a camera and a beer and talk all at the same time. Two out of three suffered and it for sure wasn’t the beer that was last. Wow, just wow.

​@@johnkirk5619I would have to agree with you, although it did come down good and didn't look like anyone got hurt, I definitely would have made my back cut about 4" higher than the bottom of the notch to help prevent kickback, and I believe I would have cut higher up so I could comfortably stand and stay on my feet instead of kneeling to make my cuts.

HORRIBLE. This definitely an excellent example of how NOT to fell a tree.

There were much more significant issues than a possibly dull chain present in this video. It's incredulous that these guys are actually a tree service (on the door/side of their van).

Bet ya that tree still isn't cleaned up to this day, lol

Contrast this with videos of people who do this for a living. Professional arborists have this down to a science; these guys are a hope and a prayer. That said, cutting that tree ruined the look of that property. The tree added a lot of character to the lot and took your focus away from the shitty structures around it.
