The DREADFUL First 3 Months after a Hair Transplant

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I talk about the challenges of going through a hair transplant for the first 3 months. This is after my 2nd experience of the FUE hair transplant (4000 grafts) I got in Istanbul, Turkey from Vera Clinic to cover my crown.

    Hey Amit, thanks for sharing, and amazing results!! I am now 2 weeks in, and like you were at this stage, I am worried about the donor area being overharvested (I went to a reputable clinic, so hopefully I just have to be patient is all). I was wondering, since the extracted hair don’t grow back there, how is it possible that your hair looks perfect in this area now?? Thank you again for the content 🙏

    haha good question! i think because i've kept my hair out long on the sides you barely see any scarring or patches. The way the clinics also extract the donor area hairs is very strategic in order to make sure your hairs dont look over harvested in one area!

    Hey Amit, Thanks for the informative video. Your step by step process was bang on to my experience as well :) The needle was the hard part and especially when I have such a high tolerance to pain. That was probably the worst feeling for about 15-20 seconds. I got about 5300 grafts in the front and the crown. I am on day 6 now and its an absolute pain to sleep, I struggle but probably will get a good travel pillow as you suggested. The itching at the donor area has started its very irritating, the clinic advised that i use a water based lotion with panthenol and after the 1st month aloe vera. I shall keep updating you on my progress and thanks again :)

    Hey Amit bhai! I resonate with your channel and hair loss journey as I too have just got my second procedure completed in Cancun, MX! It was a Turkish based clinic, so my staff and all technicians/docs were Turkish but the location of me being able to go to MX, from a short plane ride away where I live was quite the blessing. I am a bit worried about this time around as I am just now entering the ugly duckling phase just waiting to see if beyond that stage I will get the result I am hoping for. The caveat of this procedure is instead of me getting the FUE procedure done like I did on my first one, I opted for the DHI choi pen technique in Mexico. I hope this all goes well! Cheers!

    The anaesthetic doesn't hurt at all. It's a little but uncomfortable. The hair tranplant is a painless process and yeah the first 14 days you have to sleep upright, so I slept sat up. You do get itchy and this is the worse part about it. In order to get rid of the itchiness, I used saline solution. The same solution you use for contact lenses. Put it in a spray bottle and apply when you are itchy. From week 4, I used monoxidil and biotin tablets. I'm at 3 months of my second hair transplant and my results are amazing. Regarding the ugly ducking stage. I shaved the sides and back of my head so you hair doesn't look bad at all. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, use monoxidil and biotin and watch the results. Keep a positive mindset and everything will go great 👍 Everyone's hair grows at different speeds. Some may not see hair growth of the new follicles for 6-8 months, some may see them as early as three months. Everyone is different. Enjoy the journey, embrace the hair 😎

    Hey Bro, thanks for the video. One question on Minoxidil? Has this been recommended by your clinic? Are you using the oral or topical? And is one supposed to take this forever? The clinic I went to only mentioned Finasteride. Thanks

  • @amitposthair

    @amitposthair

    6 күн бұрын

    Minoxidil wasnt recommened by my clinic to use on my transplanted area at the start. They did recommend me to use it 1 month after and only on my donor area for about 6 months. After that, i started applying it on my transplatned area and that helped enhance my result. I also took oral fin with zero side effects! It supposedly is a lifetime drug but it depends on your level of hairloss. Finasteride will help keep the existing hairs you have so if you have a lot, it would be advisable to keep taking it long term!

    Hi Amit, can I request that u do a video on derma rolling for beginners pls? 1. What should the needle length be, 0.3mm, 0.5mm or longer? 2. How often should one derma roll. Can derma roll be used at multiple locations during the session? I.e hairline, mid scalp, crown. 3. Should minoxidil be used immediately after derma rolling or a couple of hrs after? 4. When should we change the roller from 0.3 to 0.5. 5. Anything else that one should carry out for this routine. Thanks Amit!

    I’m 5 weeks post op (4,000 grafts) and my donor area has still not healed. It looks red and very patchy. The clinic keeps insisting that it’s “shock loss” but I’m pretty convinced that they over harvested my donor as it looks very botched , red and empty 😢 Also, by week 3 I started to notice folliculitis (scalp pimples) on the transplanted area. The clinic said that folliculitis is common after a HT but I am not sure if it’s a sign of infection as these scalp pimples keep appearing. Did you have any of these symptoms during either of your hair transplants?

  • @amitposthair

    @amitposthair

    2 ай бұрын

    it takes time! sometimes reddness lasts about 2 months. Once you get your first hair cut, you hair wont be as patchy as the hairs right now are growing at different rates. As for the pimples, its normal to have that initally. It will go away in time so dont worry to much!

    Bro did you have a say in your straight & high hairline design?

  • @Re-Destro

    @Re-Destro

    2 ай бұрын

    The thing with Turkey is that they usually opt for a higher hairline because they're thinking things in the long run, meaning as you grow older it looks more appropriate and plausible to have a hair line like that, it wouldn't make sense to have a NW1 hairline when in your 50's or even older, you can if you want to but it would look too aggressive, besides more waste of precious graft that you might need, that's all. I think Amit's hairline is just fine and very natural, it has a slight irregularity at the front and it's not as straight as you think it is, so it's quite natural looking.

  • @amitposthair

    @amitposthair
