I can see now that I should’ve taken smaller sections and work the gel through better. I live in California so it’s not humid, it’s dry. I’m going to try it again with smaller sections.

I’m so happy I came across your video. I tried it this gel several months ago but did not like it. I’ll try a gain using your method. I did it on sopping wet hair with a leave_in underneath and it didn’t have much hold. I’ll try again on naked hair.

This was interesting, your hair looked damp not even wet, I may have try this method with gel

So beautiful! 😍 I am currently following BGC (Black Girl Curls) and they favor Uncle Funky’s Daughters Curly Magic gel and it too contains a lot of glycerin. I know you’ve used it as well and I’d love to know your opinion on how they compare to each other? Also, if you don’t mind me asking what are the characteristics of your hair texture? Example: What’s the diameter of your curls and texture of your hair (fine, medium or course?), Also, what is your hair density? Sorry for all the questions but I think we have very similar hair texture so I’m just curious. Thank you 💞

Thank you. Yes, your absolutely right I have tried the Uncle Funky's Daughter curly magic and they are completely different. I would never get two weeks not even a week using the curly magic like the Big Poppa. To me the UFDCM reminds me of the DIY flaxseed gel and the the Big Poppa reminds me of a curl activator. Now as far as my hair, I have fine to medium stands and high density which makes my hair easy to get tangled and low porosity which is why I deep condition all the time. To be honest like some people my hair varies over my head which is why I struggle with some products. P.s. Never be sorry for asking to many questions because then no one can say you did not ask. You should hear me at work asking questions. 🖤😉

@@ItsMahriagui Yep and this is exactly why I subscribed to your channel because you’re awesome just like I knew you would be! I finally was able to get my hands on some Big Poppa and I love it! However, it leaves some of my hair feeling crunchy which is fine but I was surprised by it. I live in Arizona and it’s a very dry heat so it’s nice to have a product that pulls water into the hair yet still holds the style. Also, the way you described your hair very close to how I’d describe mine. Except I am medium to low density on the sides. My curl diameter is the size of a straw in most areas but some of my curls are a tad smaller. Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions! Seriously I can’t say thank you enough!

GREAT results! How do you maintain overnight? Did you need to refresh your curls and if so, how?

Thank you. I do a classic pineapple at night and no refresher because that makes my hair frizzy but I will use some of the gel on my edges when I wear it up in a ponytail and bun. 🖤

I like how your hair looks but I hate ECO Styling Gel because it makes my hair super hard. I will most likely give this gel a try but if it makes my hair feel anything like ECO does, it will be trashed.

You said nothing but the truth. Every time I go back to my eco styler I'm like "Dang my hair is hard as heck," and then I try to find the oil I lost in my product stash to scrunch the crunch out. This gel is nothing like that just sticky for the first couple of days on my hair. TFS🥰🖤

Hey, my apologies for the late reply I went back to work. Ive never been a fan of refreshing my wash and gos because I get tangles for days and weeks. What I do is by the second week I start doing ponytails, buns, and the classic half up and down. Adding edge control and more gel to glaze up my style. But trust and believe by the end of the second week my hair needs some shampoo and a treatment that I sleep in over night to have a healthy foundations for the next wash and go. I think because of the climate I live in my hair does not dry out the way it could if I was somewhere else less humid. TFS🖤🥰
