Not sure if he actually adds harmonies in post, but he often uses a backing track that he either has stored on his thingy, or he made live then cut out of the video. Like for the Raining Blood, it's entirely possible he quickly recorded the harmony before playing what we see in the video.

also, boss's cheapest loop pedal holds like 16 loops. i think it is mostly that he cuts out him looping it for the sake of his 20 min long video. (only speculation here). he also does use stuff he has stored from previous videos/requests, but usually says he did/does verbally in those cases

@@EnergeticxCheese yeah he is usually pretty transparent about it, but i am sure it becomes redundant to put in every video. i haven't seen them all so I am not sure, but yeah, i feel like i see him either doing it or explaining that he keeps them in banks quite a bit

Sometimes people will recommend a song, and he will say something like "Ohh I already have something recorded for that". So if he goes in knowing he's gonna play a few certain songs, I bet he recorded backgrounds and such beforehand

Most of the songs he loops at the time of the request and just cuts that part of the video out in post. But I agree with other parts where if he didn’t have it programmed for loop he likely just adds the backtrack in post.

No the other times he had them already ready to play in his pedal, and said "hey, I want to play this song" and it's already set, don't remember him adding backtrack in post, would be way too much work.

He doesn't do any harmonies in post. He either records the loop beforehand (and cuts it from the vid), or he has it pre-saved from when someone else requested a song in the past. When he played guitar on COD and stuff back in the day he amassed TONS of loops, and he saves them.

About the backing tracks, I thought that, too. He talked about it in one of his videos. Basically, he'll have *some* songs looped and play it on omegle. He does this in advance. In some cases where the songs requested were new to him and supposedly don't have backing tracks but sounds like they do, *my theory* is that he adds them on as he's editing for the purpose of sounding somewhat complete for the viewers. Though you can see in some clips with backing tracks it's actually cut.. maybe he just cuts the looping process out. Maybe.. I don't know. Yeah.

to answer your question, he loops as he plays, it's not pre-recorded or added later, he starts with the main melody, that he then loops and goes on to play the second melody that he also loops on top of the first and then goes into the third, i presume that's what confused you but he usually loops as he goes.

His loop pedal is a model that you can hook to a PC/Laptop and preset on the fly. There's a couple times he mentions in these videos that "wait a sec, let me check if I still have the loop saved". Besides that, he's a great guitar player, but also godlike with that loop pedal. His timing is special.

Based on the stuff you said at the end i have a bit of a different recommendation but its not a reaction request. Check out Producer Masterclass: Beardyman | Part 1 if you want to know what Beardyman uses for his looping in ableton. He shows of all the looping VST's he uses and his setup is aimed for super low latency. It might help you with your own ableton work, and of course react to his GBB showcase if you want to see it in action.
