Kenny is actually not an MEC (provincial level) he is transport MMC for Joburg.

Guys. MEC and MMC are different positions in the two spheres of government MMC = Member of the Mayoral Committee So Johannesburg is a metro and therefore has MMCs But for the province it’s MEC So those who have gone out of office are MECs who are apppointed by the Premier Metros and Municipalities will be affected 2026 and not now. 2024 was for National and Provincial Elections I hope this clears it up

Thanks. Saved me from having to reply with an explainer. Mind you, if these is the level of understanding people in the professional classes have of government and its machinations; what chance for those in the working classes.

There’s a difference between local government, provincial and national. So, Kenny’s job as MMC was not affected by the recent elections because he is at a local government level.

MMC are in municipalities and are affected by Local Government Elections.. The elections we had were for provincial and national governments... Kenny still has his job
