I'm a fellow stutter, i struggle a lot with job interviews, I've lost a lot of opportunities. The anxiety that comes with this condition is real. I'm grateful for people around me who are always patient with me and supportive... When i am angry, i struggle to express myself, then i resort to being silent, and that makes people think I'm a walk over, or i rather walk away, i struggle with confrontation, i always choose to keep quiet... A lot of times in my life, a taxi dropped me off waay passed my destination because i would struggle to say "short left" or whatever, it is a struggle... I am 41 and unemployed, every time I get an interview invite, it feels like a death sentence 😢 You have given me some hope and confidence sir. I will continue being patient with myself and practice the breathing techniques you are advising on. Thank you so much ❤

I relate to this so much... As a stutter myself, it's very hard to deal with stuttering. However I forced myself to speak in front of large crowds of 200+ people at school and university which has helped with my confidence and self-esteem. Amazing episode, this is very much relatable

Stuttering is not a disability. It's less understood in black communities. I'm your brother, this conversation makes me emotional 😭. It's tough! I still stutter and have made peace with it.

I stutter and do not take it as a disability!! I have found a way to work around it. From finding an alternative word, using substitute words like "that thing", etc. Sometimes it can be mistaken for lack of confidence and it can affect an individual!!

I stutter myself, I nearly dropped out of high school but through my friends who made me realize it's not something I called upon myself but natural to me, I managed to gain confidence and went on...today I'm working in 1 of the government departments n very few people realize I stutter as I managed now to control my speaking😊

I learnt a lot struuu. During our school days we used to laugh cos we didn't understand, I'm going to change towards ppl that are stuttering and teach others. Knowledge is power struu. Our communities don't have information about a lot of things.

Teachers are currently my biggest problem with my son. As a mom I'm working so hard to build him up and they come and humiliate our stuttering kids in front of the very kids who are already mocking and bullying him

Grew up stuttering, terribly so in Primary...a bit better in High School....it seems I outgrew it when I "unconsciously" improved my confidence....now my child stutters, and it started in the intermediate phases of school

This is making me so emotional, I can relate to this, I stutter myself and my 1st born stutters and I have an uncle who stutters too, so my Stuttering is genetic. You lose opportunities because of this. This was so sad and hard, as you would be accused of stuff, when you try and defend yourself people wanna overpower you because they talk better. I am at a better space and I am working so hard to instill confidence in my son, he's so brilliant and I think the world is gonna know him for his brilliant person that he is.
