Spanish and Brazilian keeper growing up training with the roll under and diving over the rope and resistance band diving training, i guess it worked isnt it? Because they have the most top keepers in the world but every keeper from different country have their own vision and perception and it probably don't work for everyone

Because i read alot of comments aspecially in instagram that you shouldn't do these things like training with tennis ball, or reaction training that you usually see in spanish and brazilian training method because apperently it's not game realistic (most of the comments came from english and american keeper) *but i agree with all your do's training

Agreed that every GK culture is slightly different. But as I said in the video, I think there may be some value when they're used correctly, but I see a lot of times where they cause more damage than good - especially with younger/unexperienced goalkeepers. I do think reaction drills/tennis ball drills are good though, I use them in my training!

Hi Con, as a GK and Coach i go in line with all of your points. Many methods and drills are outdated and just don't make a lot of (game) sense. However, competitive games like the GK Battle have their place in sessions, especially in youth training. They teach important abilities like quick thinking and are moreover a fun way to end a session. Greetings from Germany. Love your videos

We used to do a goalie war we called Bermuda Triangle with three goals a keeper in each. Then we would drop in a juggling ball for extra points. Having another keeper to worry about changed the game entirely and it became as much of an awareness and positioning drill as it was about making saves.

6:20 That's true in my opinion. As a goalkeeper with 6'3 height it is my the biggest problem. I can't feel my timing before a jump. It isn't hard without opponents in front of me, but during games with their it is tough, especially in the corners. This part of goalkeeping also seems to be extremely hard to learn solo.

On corners or crosses time it so that you go at the last second which helps you go through opponents rather than them go through you. For example if u wait for it to come to you they might nudge you or kick you but you can go through them with your knee for example and have power

Hehe. One thing I do sometimes before a game is play that old nintendo wii game where your boxing trainer throws tennis balls at you and you have to move out of the way. Although avoiding balls goes against everything we do, it gets that twitch reflex going to a high level. If I am not getting platinum level results, I am not ready.

Conor my guy. I have been following you since the Gibraltar times, I have never been more motivated than now. I don't have other choices in life than football. My parents want to kill me for my school, I really hate it. They do believe in me but curently I am injured. It started back in July when I had my head injury. Played Gothia Cup 2022 in Gothenburg and I went out too early without the knee and he smashed my head. I didn't play for 4 months. Then I started training, the break came 2 weeks later. I came back and the first team training I "had" a muscle wass. It would really help me if you could give me some tips on how you think I could come back in form etc. I just don't want to get injured again. Cheers Con!

Just start small - build up from the bottom. Be patient with yourself, set yourself small goals within your control for training sessions, and start to build that momentum! Make sure you keep working hard at your school too, it is really important!

I do this by serving to the goalkeeper's side having them "push through" the ball and then over the obstacle. This in conjunction with some other activations, I find that helps with this concept that you describe. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qn9-r7Sre92oe6Q.html -- All the best.
