@Wiz Catches Lightning Din('s fire), Nayru('s love), Farore('s wind) The golden goddesses that created/became the tri-force, as told by Ocarina of Time. The parenthesis are the powers that you had gotten that were representative of each of them. Farore is wind. For wind to be instrumental for the hero of time, it stands to reason that Farore became the tri-force piece of Courage.

This reminds me of my favorite theory; that because Zelda's actions deprived her timeline of the spirit of the hero, she also managed to break Demise's curse. Because Demise's curse specifically targeted the bloodline of the goddess and the spirit of the hero, and the thing that it sustained was specifically his *malice.* However, the Ganondorf we see in Wind Waker is very lacking in malice, both in terms of outright hatred and manifested magical demon stuff - he doesn't even transform into Ganon. Instead he's wistful, thoughtful, and reflective on his actions. He's angry, but not *at* Zelda and Link. Instead his anger is at the gods for destroying Hyrule - he's angry *for* Zelda and Link. And after he dies and Hyrule is sealed, the Wind Waker timeline never sees another iteration of Ganon or Ganondorf, and instead new demon lords have risen up to fill the vacuum left behind by Demise.

I never actually considered this! Thank you for sharing! That makes total sense. Man I wish Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks had HD versions because they aged poorly. I still might make a theory about this in the future because that’s a cool concept to explore 🥲

@@wizcatcheslightning Thanks! One fun element to this theory is that it's compatible with WW Link not actually being the Spirit of the Hero at all, since Demise's curse is broken. Meaning all those comments in the game about WW Link *not* being the Link that everyone remembers make a lot more thematic sense - he isn't a hero of destiny, but a new hero who has taken on a hero's mantle in a time of need.

This was a really enjoyable watch, but I think there's one big flaw with the end of the video: The King of Red Lions explicitly says Link doesn't have the Spirit of the Hero, he's just a brave young man who wants to save his sister

I can think of an explanation for child Link having the Triforce of Courage, which doesn't need him willingly risk Ganondorf getting the Triforce of Power. He was simply sent back while he was drawing the Master Sword, so he slammed it back down, but as you said opened the path to the Triforce and broke it apart.

I feel like the triforce might be better to think of as an absolute force than can’t be removed from a person. If one person gets it and is sent into the past, They still will have it

If Link takes it from the adult timeline to his original child timeline, how does the Triforce in the child timeline somehow remain intact (because it’s technically still in the locked Temple of Light/Sacred Realm if this happens) yet separated when Link comes back? That’s what is perplexing to me.

@@wizcatcheslightningperhaps that’s the prank. The sacred realm is locked, but in fact Zelda and Ganondorf inherit the other pieces because Link returns to the past already in possession of a piece. As for the adult timeline my instinct is that it shatters because link vanishes. The triforce persists separately and independently in separate timelines.

I bet the triforce surpasses time constraints, "going back with the triforce of courage" probably means that its yours as soon as you go back in time, you could say it just teleports to you without creating a copy, its omnipresent through the stream of time, thats my headcanon for that

I always assumed Din saved Ganondorf during his execution because he was destined by virtue to aquire the triforce of power (either because the triforce is omni-temporal or because she has has own motives) but why choose the same guy that Demise chose, right? I've seen others speculate that demons coming from the earth could imply that they were created by Din but idk. Either way Im curious to see what nintendo will do with Ganondorf's character. Will he redeem himself like part of the fanbase have been wishing for? Will he usurp Demise and take all the power for himself? be Demise's lackey? I cant wait to see what Totk's writing will bring to the table lore-wise.

It's a neat theory, something to note is that Link in WW can use 5 of the Hidden Skills when countering, attacking, or defending. Finishing Blow, Shield Bash, Backstrike, Helm Splitter, and, arguably, the Great Spin/ Huricane Spin.

Wow, that video blew me away and I think Mr. Miyamoto and his successor Aiynuma son would be very pleased to hear you connect their worlds so well. If I may ask a favor.... when, not if, BUT WHEN you blow up and you hit that millie sub mark somewhere down the line, and take the channel to the next level, can you please leave the endtro as is. It will be symbolic of these times and tbh honest, everytime it hits, it feels like you connecting with the audience and also parallels as a connection in the real world where two or more people, find they share the same passion, dare I say..... The layers of the Zelda lore are so deep and so well interwoven its amazing!

10:17 The stones that beckon the Hero's Shade allude to Farore's Wind, not specifically the Wind Waker, though I'm sure there's an argument to that too, that the motif and story of Wind Waker is also alluding to Farore's Wind. Same with Breath of the Wild (Breath = Farore's Wind) and Tears of the Kingdom (Tears = Nayru's Love), in 5 years we'll get the 3rd game for the Nintendo Switch 2, "____ of the ____" relating to Din's Fire.

What about the emphasis of the flames forging the Master Sword in Skyward Sword. Fujibayashi being the director for all three of these games seems to really be a pattern that’s hard to ignore!

That was skyward sword. As the game is littered with the word power throughout it. Some here on KZread made video talking about skyward sword is power, botw is wisdom and Totk will be courage

Without being recently brushed up on OoT, WW or TP I think off of the top of my head I would assume the triforce of courage was shattered into 8 pieces because OoT adult Link simply vanishes from the timeline. So while Ganondorf possesses his, and Zelda inherits hers, no one is present to inherit the piece of courage so it shatters. Meanwhile child link keeps the triforce of courage when he is transported back to his timeline. 6:00 there are not two triforces of courage in the same timeline. There is one triforce of courage in each timeline. So perhaps despite the realm remaining sealed in the child timeline, the triforce is dispersed among the 3 inheritors as soon as young link is present and in possession of a piece. I REALLY like the connection you made between the spirit of the hero, the 8 pieces and the 8 wind stones though. I’ve never heard that anywhere else and it really connects the two timelines in a beautiful way. Just my thoughts, but I’ve been binge watching Zelda lore this week so maybe not just my thought lol.

Also, if you’re into doing something not necessarily theory related, maybe your thoughts on some of the new gameplay elements for tears of the kingdom or something like that with some of the new gameplay that Nintendo let other content creators release. I think of the Triforce as just a symbol of an inner force of either power, wisdom, or courage, so whoever is “deserving” of it or earns it, will have that power, from within, no matter where in space or time they go. So when adult Link goes back, I would argue that the presence of the Triforce on his hand as a child only signifies that his spirit is truly that of the hero, despite his body. (This arguably would mean that if he pulled the master sword after being sent back, he actually *would* be able to wield it without the 7 year time skip and events would change completely-but our hero decides to do something different. Perhaps Navi said something before leaving for good? We’ll never know.) I do however *love* your idea of the stones being related to the Triforce shards in Wind Waker and tying together the “spirit of the hero.” However, the idea that the spirit can’t exist in both timelines is sort of contradicted by the two spirits of the hero residing in the shade and Twilight Princess’ Link, no? I like the idea that the stones and shards are connected, but I also like to think that the hero of Wind Waker earned his piece, not necessarily that it was gifted in a way from the actions/events in the child timeline, especially since I don’t think Link needs to acquire all of the skills to beat the game (I could be wrong about this since I always go for completion, but they seemed skippable to me) and Wind Waker Link obviously needs to collect all pieces to advance the game. Two spirits in the Child Timeline, but then the Hero’s Shade is able to rest in peace after he’s passed on his techniques because this gives his spirit fulfillment. I’m not sure if I mentioned this in the video, but this concept can be explained by the principle of the tamashii: a soul that can exist in two vessels simultaneously similar to how two separate candles can share the same flame (Japanese culture is beyond poetically romantic and I absolutely love it!) How can we explain this with lore in the Zelda Universe? Well in the prologue of Wind Waker, the Spirit of the Hero doesn’t reincarnate, right away at least. This is why Hyrule is flooded and we later have a tradition of the boys of Outset Island adopting the ritual of dressing like the Hero of Time who disappeared. The Adult Timeline, technically, even takes place 7 years after the Child Timeline. So the Hero’s Shade is able to finally rest and his spirit would then traverse time and space to go back to become the Link we know from Wind Waker. Twilight Princess Link already had the triforce of Courage since he born with it. A descendant can be considered a incarnation as well. (soul of the hero) I do think WW Link is a incarnation of Link too since Ganondorf said it himself.

I don’t know if he was born with it per se because the lore somewhat dictates that you have to embody the virtue in order for the piece of Triforce to house itself within you.

I don't know how often this has been said or where the info comes from (despite the fact I have played all the 3D Zelda titles) but wasn't it already a given that the Gods forced a huge speed up of the stuff necessary for the society of Hyrule to transition from a continent to being spread over a bunch of mountain top islands? Like it was said they changed the Zora into the Rito to prevent them from finding Hyrule and the like. And Hylians in general were made to forget the original Hyrule.

If this is true, this explains the first Divine Prank. While Link is correct in that the Royal Family had no reason to believe him without evidence, he really messed up. Much like Zelda did by splitting the timeline in the first place.

Something I’ve never considered - isn’t it a little suspicious to have an age requirement for the master sword? I mean it was made by Gods so the only restrictions it should have would be artificial being that the creator creates the rules for it. The seven year slumber in order to use the blade while untold and unnecessary destruction occurs and kingdom to fall under Ganondorfs reign

Ok so get this. This is actually kind of neat. The Hero of the Skies was the first wielder of the Master Sword. He was 17. The next Link to wield the Master Sword was 10 and had to age to 17 via Sacred Realm slumber because the last person to wield the Master Sword was the Hero of the Skies and that was who Fi remembered. OOT happens, the Hero of Time becomes the Hero’s Shade and reincarnates to the Link of Wind Waker who is blatantly not 17. The Spirit of the Hero from the Hero’s Shade allowed him to bypass this age requirement 😎

There’s this concept where ancient people will seed their desire through laws, religion and folklore - in order to set up a future society that the current citizens have no clue they are being led towards. Like the benne gesserits in Dune for instance

Ultimately, the feat is beyond our comprehension, but the phenomenon is supported by details from both games and those align with the conclusion.

"This period of hibernation would be required by him to gain the experience needed to wield the blade of the goddess" Uh... How's he gonna get that experience while hibernating? Doesn't it make more sense to say that his body needed time to grow before it could handle the power of the Master Sword?

More like an age requirement. Yes, that would make sense,but think about this: the last wielder of the Master Sword was the Hero of the Sky, who was 17. That’s the last Link to wield the Master Sword before OOT. The sword recognized that age requirement in order to be obtained. What age does Young Link grow into to be able to wield the blade? 17 🤗

OK Twilight Princess Gannon has the Triforce of Power because he is the same Gannon as Ocarina of Time Gannon, who acquired the Triforce of power during the events of the game. He never lost that piece of the Triforce. He was just sealed away with it. Most people seem to think that even though Link was sent back in time, he didn't lose his piece of the Triforce. Therefor the other two pieces had to go to Zelda and Gannondorf. It makes no sense to me that Link would lose the triforce of courage when he goes back in time. It's already sort of bound to his soul and can only be removed with some seriously hardcore magic. There would not be two of the same Triforce because the Triforce is a magical divine object that exists outside of time! I can't say as much about Windwaker because I only played that game one time, and I didn't like it as much as other Zelda titles.

Time to play Wind Waker, because there’s some serious flaws in your reasoning on this one. The Zelda Encyclopedia even shows that there is a separate Triforce for every timeline. Sorry if this comes off as a “well, actually” reply, but I have no idea how else to tell you what’s not being considered here with your words.

So, you can't take everything it says too seriously. 2. Windwaker is the most boring Zelda game I have ever played and I don't want to play it again!

@@pixywings fair point. But at the same time, it acknowledges one Triforce per timeline. It also describes where each Triforce is at the end of each timeline. And this is a theory at the end of the day because I can’t reconcile there being two Triforces of Courage in one timeline 😅 2. Ok so every Zelda game is practically post apocalyptic. When I look at Wind Waker through this lens, it’s one of the best imo. Charting and navigating the waters, trying to figure out what happened to Hyrule, the most charismatic Link in the series. Same with Zelda. I love these things about that game. But to each their own.

Nintendo has started connecting the timelines because the fans want that, but originally Zelda games weren't connected unless they were a direct sequel. When it comes to WindWaker. I do actually like the base game. The art style is cute, the story is great, and all of the dungeons are fun and well designed. I even like several of the islands. The thing I don't like is how much time is spent aimlessly wandering the ocean. I feel like for most of the game I was just wishing that little red boat would go faster.

@@pixywings they made a lot of improvements in the HD remake. Also, you can get teleportation fairly early on in the game which helps cut those long voyages short 😉
