Mojang should just hire some of this modders at this point, this guys are making Minecraft look like an actually actively updated game
@ClebyHerris

They have hired some modder like gnembon but some sources say that there is too much bureaucracy and random hoops and garbage to go through to add something or change anything.

The problem is that these modders work in Java Only java Many of the things we see, like shaders and LODs are not doable on bedrock, bedrock uses a custom, well, everything written in C++, it's why it's so fucking buggy, anything added to bedrock needs to be programmed individually in C++ Mojang won't add something unless it's doable on bedrock, last time they did that was the 1.9 combat update and that was controversial

I recommend using another mod called "chunky" alongside with DH. It essentially preloads all of your chunks (within a certain radius, most set it to 6000) making distant horizons load all of the chunks faster, which also give you more performance as a plus.

@WebSurfReal

You preload the chunks, i did it for our server that i play with friends. I preloaded on my pc on singleplayer about 6000 blocks in a square radius from our spawn. The issue is that the world save file doesnt weigh that much, but the LODS weigh like 7GB for this amount of chunks. So it is very bulky. But with this method if you have acess to the seed or the map. You can use this on server with friends very effectivly.

Can someone please explain to me how you combine mods with distant horizons? Im very new to modding so all the file shit confuses me but i have two separate modded versions of minecraft, one with iris distant horizons, and forge. I want to use my forge mods with distant horizons but i am unsure how
Just an FYI, but it seems that you never actually went above 200/300 chunks rendered. Distant Horizons has to load in all these chunks, process them and then display them. And because your CPU Load setting (just 2 under Render Distance Input) was set "Low Impact" it never actually had the chance to load them in fast enough to really see it. (You can see chunks popping up in the distance to see the actual speed). For presentation purposes, I'd recommend setting it to Aggressive, as it takes quite a while to load them in normally. You can look around and actually see the chunks loading in the background. The only chunks you really saw were the ones that were already preloaded before, so increasing the distance made little difference. That's also why you saw that some chunks were missing. And quitting the world and re-entering it just causes the mod to load the already cached world data.
@alzario
2 ай бұрын
To add to this, running a chunk generation mod like chunky overnight to generate 5000-10000 blocks radius will probably be enough almost for a whole playthrough. Unless exploring over 10000 blocks away is a thing you usually do that is.

It’s insane to me that Minecraft doesn’t natively support LOD. Its a no brainer
minecraft takes two years to add a single mob and a couple new blocks and calls it a “major update” They just need to hire these people already
The gaps in the world are from you leaving the world and interrupting the chunk loading task. It's worth checking the Impact setting in the menu to the highest setting, sit at 5fps for like 2 minutes, then set it back to minimal when working with farther render distance. I currently play on a world at 2048 distance with no issues. You can also hit F3 to see the running tasks.
My boy, your video quality, commentary, storytelling, music, and emotions are just over the top! Your videos are absolutely wonderful.
Bro as goofy as the "chunks" setting looks, it also has a real charm to it. I feel like if Minecraft had always had that as a way to see distant chunks where they're kind of just averaged together, we would all be used to it and think nothing more of it.
Love your editing style, feels very high quality
So underrated, congrats on 1k subs btw 🎉
Did you actually generate a large enough world to use those high render distances? DH needs to generate the LOD chunks as well as the actual chunks so those insanely high render distances will take absurd amounts of time to generate.

It's a lot faster than you'd think, and theres settings for how much cpu is dedicated to chunk loading. You can put it on "I paid for the whole CPU" and run at 5fps while it loads tens of thousands of chunks then pop it back down once the world is loaded.

Oh hey Lunar
in the F3 menu it shows if it is currently working on rendering new stuff, also you can change how much CPU the mod uses to renders, I would put it at maximum and then wait a few minutes when the world is first created, after that you can reduce the allotted CPU power without problems.
Nice video man, quick question. Whats your Bliss shader's settings? Do you have a config video somewhere maybe?
This is incredible, but what I'm truly excited for in the future is nvidium getting shader/iris compatibility and running that with the Bobby mod.
Oh, it's still in development I guess I'll just wait for the official release. Can't wait to play it on my potato!
Chunks not loading could be you running out of available VRAM or it's just that the auto generator function missed a chunk and you now have to go over and actually generate them yourself. I noticed that to update the LODS you have to reload the chunks in the area. While we were building a castle on our world, I would often go into spectator mode and fly away to look at the castle from a distance. It wouldn't have the new additions rendered until I reentered the area and reloaded those chunks, then I could fly away again and see the new LODS. ALSO; If you get that weird graphical ghosting bug from disabling or reenabling shaders, just tap R and it'll reload the shader. That fixes it.

Hey my chunks go pretty far (100-150 chunks) but not as much as it should even if i set my distance to 400+. I have 4060 ti + r5 5600 and 16 gb ram. I gave the permission to the game to use 10 gigs so there is no problem on the ram sides but i doubt about the 8 gb vram. Also when i run the mode with terralith and tectonic the slow loading and missing chunks go even crazier. Is there something to do with the cpu, vram or the optimization of the mode? Pls help my only hope is that DH is still in beta.
I'm an avid Bethesda game player and modder, my mind was blown until you said LOD's, and then I was like oh well yeah duh. It's such an archaic of long distance rendering but it almost always proves to be better than full rendering.

Why it cant load some chunks? Probably some chunks was never generated, so to show them minecraft need to generete them (which it take some CPU), you can try change the setting "CPU Load" from Low Impact to higher.
The chunks still need to be generated. That's why it won't show the entire world at first.

Ill be honest, i havent played minecraft without distant horizons ever since it came out and so did the bliss shaders for it. Genuine game changer. Edit: i also generally dont play without tectonic. Tectonic is perfect with distsnt horizons.
It has probably already been stated, but the smearing effect is related to CPU usage, at least for me it can't be set to "low" or "minimal". Set it to normal or balanced and it might start working for you
Version 0.07 is coming out in a month or two. Hopefully, it will be stable and for minecraft version 1.20.4
I wonder if this works with the VR mod. It really needs this because for some reason anything higher than a render distance of 8 makes it work incredibly slow
since discovering distant gorizons i almost cabt handle not playing with it on. Kinda hoping on multiplayer support soon. The way it works in multiplayer now is fine but if it can send lod data to all the clients thats gonna be amazing
the reason why your lods were loading slowly is because in the settings, ur cpu load was low impact so it was using less cpu power, if you want it to load fast you have to increase it to like aggresive. Also what you loaded was actually not 1500 chunks, it was around 256 only, 1500 takes a lot of time and performance to load, when u rejoined the world it simply boosted the first few lod chunks to load
after all my years of playing minecraft, it’s completely unbelievable how far this game has come
THe only expansions I've wanted from day 1 were bigger caves and further render distance. It's been a good year and some for me to say the least.
Ah, just what I needed for my skyblock world
its almost like minecraft is a technical mess and mojang should actually do some work to fix the game. of course, that'll never happen. the only time they've even vaguely pestered at updating the code was a naked attempt to push microtransactions into the game.
I noticed that the problem with this mod is that the chunks need to be pre-loaded first. In other words, if you just spawned into a new world, the chunks that you never loaded will never show up in the distance. But if you flied/walked around the world for a bit and then returned to your spawn point, then you would see that the very distant chunks are still loaded in the background, making it look like you can see really far. It's a bit of a shame that the mod can't load the chunks that are really far in a low resolution and only increase the resolution when you get closer.
just to note distant horizons wont force your server to send you extra chunks. DH instead will rememebr chunks you have been and wont unload them. this is why you see empty chunks,2 so get your elytra and go explore and fill out your world for distant horizons
Ye, ive been seeing just lots of cinematics with this mod now.
The reason it is so cool is because 1 block = 1 meter. 1 chunk = 16m. 700chunks = 11.2 km you can only see around 5 km irl now you can see further. That means the most realistic is around 300
@JohnnyGottaCraft
Ай бұрын
Just enough to see how flat the world really is am I right?😉
Are you able to see structures you build really far away? Or does it use the seed generation of the world to show the "original" chunks?
By the way, you can only ever see 3-4 miles away irl, which conveniently is 300-400 render distance. We are literally getting into the territory where we can see as far in Minecraft as the real world.
Even the chunk lods looks good because they feel stylistic in a complementary way to mc
That glitch where the sky isn't rendering (and therefore the buffer isn't cleared resulting in that trippy visual) can be bandage "fixed" by turning off the Bliss shaderpack.

this is actually so good bc I use bliss shaders normally
When you play with distant horizons once, there is no going back. It is just too good to see your endless world and your buildings very far away.
1) updating the settings can take a while, especially when generating as more CPU time is dedicated to generating rather than updating the terrain with new settings. 2) the gaps are result of interrupted generation, they only appear in the LOD areas (ie if you visit them they will still be there) the 2.0.2 version of the mod did not save correctly which areas are actually generated. 3) generation is slow in general, because Minecraft chunk generation is slow, generating 256 chunks RD can take a hour or two. 4) most limits in settings are arbitrary, there is debug option to bypass it 5) DH does not like when you constantly turn shader on and off
Now if only I could use Distant Horizons with shaders, Create, and Valkyrian skies, my dream of creating a steampunk utopia in Minecraft will be complete.
Waiting already few months for release, thinking they will never release it
insane how lod's and a basic shader isn't in vanilla minecraft still
