been playing a singleplayer world for the first time in years, using DH, Bliss, Tectonic and terralith has made the game so much more immersive and enjoyable. ( I reccomend using chunky and noisium for performance)

So, question, does this LoD situation take player changes into account? For example, if you build a castle or tear down a mountain, does the LOD display this or do the changes pop in later? Just wondering if it's calculating based on seed or the actual world block by block

one thing to note is that this mod isn't compatible with some mods (which would ruin the purpose of boosting fps), heck it's actually the opposite, i got like 20 fps with this mod with like only 30 mods loaded but i figured when I deleted the mod it runs noticeably faster

if you want distant horizons to render faster you need to enable more gpu and cpu power, which is available in the settings you didn't touch, you should watch your own videos bro

I assume that happened to the end, because the mod stores the structure data of your world in a sqlite3 database (a local database), and with the forced changes in the settings of the shaders, the data in that database might've become corrupted. It's useful that you found this bug though, it might be useful for the modder to replicate this case and know how to fix it, maybe when turning off the shaders, clean the database or something similar. I wonder if you would've had the same bug if you changed your location in the world a few hundreds blocks and see if the new terrain had or not the same bug. Thank you for the video too!

it is actually in forge as of currently (not sure if the new alpha 2.1 that came out 4 hours ago changed anything but) last time I recall there was a forge experimental branch on the distant horizons discord, along with an experimental compatible version of oculus (iris port to forge) on their respective discord. I've played with shaders on dh on a forge modpack I made so it's definitely there, you just gotta dig for it

nividium goes good with bobby but disables when using shaders BUT you can load like 128 chunks and have good fps (no I do not have a super computer)

this video is really misleading. I believe the max it ever rendered for you was 128. "this is 4000" zooms in an it literally cuts off at like 100+.

Isn't there a version of the game someone made with infinite render distance? I'm pretty sure it wasn't a mod but it's own installation, however it had infinite render distance and was the actual thing as opposed to just effectively an illusion.
