Thanks John, Being not a native English speaker, living abroad, and considering that I never did any studies, nor achieved any course, in a anglophone country, I have not any knowledge of the English maths vocabulary. So, I was kind of dubious about what you meant by the term "number line". That's why I assumed it was precisely what you meant and I used the word "x axis" to make me clear Thank John, beyond maths, your videos allow me to improve my understanding of English language. Take care.

I'd say there is two solutions. If the number line is a regular x axis, the solutions are -11 or 27.

I got 28. He's looking for ONE number BETWEEN (exclusive of end points) two numbers. Also, one does not measure distance with a number line. What if the distance is 19.5 units? (What's half a mile?)

At the thumbnail, the answer is 27 OR -11. It depends on whether we're looking at just the counting numbers or all whole numbers.

It’s correct because they are technically both a number. What further makes it correct is the questions says on the number line. And on a number line negative numbers are included

Could be 27 or -11. Would have been a much better question if this were on the complex plane.

@@MrSummitvilleI fear that I must assume too much too. If the question is what is the other number that is singular, not plural, either would indicate there is 2 numbers, not 1 that the singular in the question indicated. The question seems incomplete as written, I immediately knew there were 2 possible numbers possible, but I couldn't figure out if you wanted the positive or negative response as written.

I think Adventures in Cyberspace was a little more complex than this. But this Tot Math might make for a sandbox openworld fungame of some kind. You could meet nfcs who only allow you to pass if you can solve the problems. And, of course, the boss fight is a bigtime Math problem. And the prize is a free pass to 6 flags magic mountain with x number of free rides, number depending on how quickly you solve probs in a Math comp at the park. No cheat guarantee. The Mathletes have will know it_s not rigged. Unless, of course, the cheaters get hold of the answers as in Perfect Score.
